Women gamble less then men, that's a fact, but they also do less combat sports, they don't join the army as often and if they do it's to perform non-combat roles, like radar operators, computer scientists, medics. It's rare for women to do stunts in movies, extreme sports, be race drivers, but also criminals. Most criminals are men, especially when it comes to serious crimes like murder.
It's obvious there will also be less women gamblers, especially in competitive gambling, like poker. Women will rather choose something simple and fun like slots and roulette.
I see nothing bad in it, we are different after all.
Women activeness in some things have been limited in many ways and I don't know if that is because of the home engagement e.g childbearing and up keeps off the home but then it will also be worthy of note if I also appreciate the few of the women who have become actively engage in stuff like gambling and cryptocurrencies.

Just like I stated before,  it is very important to check the activeness of the women vs the risk level their willing to take since it all balls down to one thing which is the risk-taking vs responsibility,  because of the high demand on men they tend to take more risk than women in many ways and gambling is one of those things that men do more than women due to the risk involved.

It indirectly means that men are more into gambling. Even in my country that gambling is allowed, out of 10 men, hardly will you see 1 women that is gambling.

But generally men gamble than women.

But I do not know if the research is totally accurate or not though

In my country, it is very difficult to see female gamblers, not as if they don't exist, but just that they may be very few here. Women have more responsibility than men, like taking care of the home mostly for a woman that is married, and for the young ladies, they pursue a career that they think could be beneficial to them without spending much time on gambling. Just as the OP stated, in my country, most men see a female gambler as someone who doesn't have good morale, and no woman wants to be classified in that category, so they just choose to exempt themselves from gambling. Secondly, women like to save up their money and use it to do better things; most of them (very many) can't stand the risk of watching their money vanish all in the name of gambling. So, I believe that the majority of gamblers are men.

Maybe in the third world countries people will see women into gambling differently. On Western nation people have got used to it. Women are good managers than men, and for that reason women prefer gambling of games that are much connected with calculations.

Yeah, sure thing, I don't know about other part of my country, but in the area where I live currently, women who gamble are mostly seen as irresponsible, most especially young girls who are into gambling, and one of the reasons why they are seen as irresponsible is because most of them who gamble are also into drugs and alcohol abuse, which is not a good thing for the womanhood.

Also, like I said on my previous comment, it's hard to find a married woman doing gambling except the husband is late, and even at that, some still look at them as irresponsible due to the fact that her children could emulate that from her even from their tender age, thereby, causing underaged gambling to even grow further.

According to research, when a man loses a gamble, there's a machismo attached to him saying, "Yeah, I lost £500, but I can afford it."[/b]

That's pretty much true. Men are not crybabies or we try hard not to look like one. Women on the other hand are emotional creatures and they can't handle high stress environments for very long. They tend to lose their cool pretty fast. A man might lose half of his life savings and that will hit him in the head like hitting a brick but he won't say a word about it. He will go on like nothing has happened. If someone asks him about it, he will tell that it was no biggie.  Grin In reality, he just had a major fuck up obviously. But no, we can't cry like a woman. What good is it gonna do anyway? Getting stressed and crying ain't gonna solve anything. So men are doing the right thing.

I know that the number of women involved in gambling is very small because in some countries, people's views of female gamblers are still very bad and they are considered dirty and unfit to be a wife. maybe the results of this research can be used by gambling business owners in developing their business.

Gambling in my country is seen as an immoral behavior but women gambling could be seen as a greater level of irresponsibility. In some religious regions in my country, it could lead to severe punishment. No family will ever wish that their son will marry a female gambler. Men's gambling can be tolerated because gambling is not prohibited but female gambling is highly frowned upon. The uneducated ones will secretly give money to trusted brothers or male friends to assist them in staking. Educated females use the phone and other device to place bets. I know women are emotional but I have never seen any woman crying because of losses. But I have seen men It maybe because they want to keep it secret. I believe that because of the cultural perception of my area women might not also announce their wins. I also agree that men openly announce their wins because I have seen many gamblers buying bottles of beers for people because of a big win.

Men within the age of 40 can be seen much into sports betting than casino games. People who have earned good and want to enjoy prefer casino games. In each and every industry the women's participation is increasing with time. Gambling industry isn't the exception, and Women will surely stand equal to men sooner or later.

Well, I am not a woman, so clearly, I can't categorically tell if the research is true on the side of the women or false, but being a man myself, I do agree that most men, including myself will always like to show off their gambling skill or how lucky they are, and this can be done through them showing off their winnings to friends, or fellow gamblers on a gambling community as this.

I do know several women who gamble here in my area, and to be sincere, they are mostly single mothers who are either young or aged, but the important thing is that I've never come or been close to any woman who gambles, so it's impossible for me to know what type of mind settings they have in terms of gambling.

Do you think the results of the research above are correct?
about the "women not liking it when others see them lose", I am not really sure, I mean, when I was still an active gambler in physical gambling establishments, I've seen, spoken to and befriended a lot of women gambling there, a lot of them don't really care if people see them lose and a lot of them prefer skill-based games, but then against that is just my experience, I am curious if they have a link to the data on the study that was conducted.

We have witnessed a low inflow of women in new contemporary development such as gambling and cryptocurrency,  this is because women tend to have high restrictions ns some activities gambling is one of activity that women are restricted for,  but also we have to check the place of women able to take a risk and how they analyze risk and what their do with it when the risk is presented to them.,  so gambling is not a woman thing and a few of the women who take part in one form of gambling or the other are always discriminated against and that is why most women who gamble will probably do it in secret.

But then things are beginning to change and people's perspectives are beginning to change and how they react to things is now beginning to point towards a free society where everyone is free to do what they deem fit for them.

I've read an article about the behavioral differences between men and women and one of the points why it's said that women live longer is that their most basic social role was to take care of children and create warm safe environment for the family. A women's role was to be careful, as she wasn't as strong as a man, while he was to provide food, secure new areas of land, new hunting grounds, fight off danger.
Therefore a man is made to try new things, compete, even at the cost of sustaining some damage, physical and mental. We, men, will die trying, but a woman knows if she's gone the child may not survive, so she'll naturally want to play it safe. For this reason you see men racing cars just to prove a point, while women scream at them to calm down. Smiley

I can't really say that I've done any serious research on gambling, but historically, I think that gambling has been more popular among men than women. But that gender gap is slowly closing! In recent years, more and more women are participating in different forms of gambling, especially in online settings. I think that the main reason for this trend is that more and more women are becoming financially independent, and they’re starting to enjoy spending their money on fun things like gambling.
However, I also recognize that cultural and societal gender expectations play a role, and in certain societies, there may still be a significant disparity between the number of male and female gamblers because it's more socially acceptable for men than for women.

Whatever the current situation may be, I think it's great to see more diversity in the gambling community. Women deserve equality in all aspects of life.  Wink

The research which is based on few groups and that too from not bigger geo groups plus backgrounds. Let us say it could happen the results are entirely different for groups who are with strong financial background Vs poor financial background. The first group could be playing for fun while the second group could be playing to earn some extra bucks for their living. Now, it could change everything for the male and female group too considering they are segregated in the above stated backgrounds. I am not sure if we should be believing in that survey in particular. Gender could be least of our worries as long as gambling is fun or way of earning money. Anyone irrespective of their gender could be playing any game as long as they are profiting.

Nothing lasts forever
To be honest, I have never seen a women gambling in the real world but yes I have seen them on online casinos.
It's hard to judge their behavior online but I guess there shouldn't be much difference between men and women in gambling.
But it's obvious that men are a lot more than women in gambling and most of the men won't like women who gambles.
Women are mostly seen as the one who runs the house and men won't want them to gamble away the money they kept to run the house.

I don't know how accurate the article is but I consider everyone as an individual when it comes to gambling. I remember girls playing poker while guys prefer slots and roulette but that's what I witnessed and I cannot conclude anything about the most people doing it in the way.

But I can answer why the percentage of men and women participation in Gambling is vastly different because the psychology of women is like don't take risk and they like to be conservative while men like to take any risk it doesn't mean one gender is over other.

Some stuff from that article is 100% accurate while some other stuff is borderline crap. It's pretty evident that there are far more men in the world of gambling when compared to women for various reasons.

Countries which view women in a bad way just because they gamble are trash. Online gambling has helped cause a surge in the number of female gamblers which is why the gap between male and female gamblers is decreasing.

Anonymous crypto gambling sites has helped decrease this gap even faster.

I somehow agree with the cited research findings that men are more into gambling in comparison to women. My take on this, based on my experience, is that girls are into other things which gives joy to them such as social media. They tend move more with care or decide, and men in most instances are ones who takes the risk, in general. Both sexual orientations are present in this industry, it just happened that one is more dominant in number. Another theory I guess is because men are more lazy with things; being rich in an instant or finding a shortcut as in line with a goal which pushes them to embrace the risk. Unlike with girls who tend to think more and to overthink on things which pushes them away from risks.

There are lots of research that were proven erroneous because of the controlled variable and limited number of responses.  So when dealing with statistics and it depending on survey, I don't actually think that it is the case due to the reason I stated.  Both gender prefer the same type of gambling.  Both of them are engage both on skill based and chance based game since different person have different preference regardless of their gender.

Everyone is free to give his own interpretation on women interaction with gambling but what we will all arrived at is that we cannot compare the rate of women participation to that of men in gambling, maybe we can give some reasons like how women were believed to be weaker vessels unlike men in most cases, their dedication and commitments to the house and the family especially in taking care of the children at home, lastly maybe our women may not have that boldness of taking risk associated to gambling because some depends on their earnings to take care of the family.
Women gamble less than men because women love money more than men and don't like to waste money. But nowadays women have also progressed a lot and women are working extensively as an alternative to men, so women are gradually getting involved in gambling as well too. But while women have gambled less than men so far, it doesn't seem like such a difference will exist in the future days

I don know where you get the assumption that women lovers money than men.  Women simply value money than men and that thought is still debatable because we can see men to value money and avoid unnecessary expenses.  And valuing does not mean they love more than anything else.

You are right that mate, everytime we talk about women in gambling then we can say that they have self discipline and self control. That's the reason why women loss lesser than men and also they have a positive thinking that they are know what to do. But in other way women is wise once they win a good amount then they will stop immediately .
