They must perform better than Bayern Munich if they want to be involved in the title race this season, the draw they got against Schalke must be the subject of evaluation, because in the next match they must get full points so as not to fall behind Bayern. Thus their opportunity to compete with Bayern Munich in the title race is still quite open.

I also think that the mentality of Dortmund's players dropped a bit in terms of confidence after losing to Chelsea in the Champions League, but Dortmund should get back on the right track in the next game, at least to keep the chances in the title race. Not playing in the Champions League again can make Dortmund more focused on undergoing the next match.

The next match will be facing FC Cologne at home, Terzic must give the best results for Dortmund in this match if he wants to be in a position to fight for the title and Dortmund must also be more focused on getting full points.

no one expected schalke to be able to score 2 goals against dortmund when dortmund was in their best form, haller and bellingham were not even able to do much. the match between union berlin vs wolfsburg was quite fierce, this draw made union berlin and wolfsburg's position in the standings unchanged.

I hope that Schalke's good game will keep them calmly in the league. Borussia must count on the return of Julian, Marco and Karim to fight. Also back on track Jude and Haller.

Dortmund has been trying so hard. It's better if you are trying to look at the statistic against schalke or i may try to mention it here. dortmund is really ambitious to win the trophy this season.

It seems like that dortmund has been going back on the right track again. Remember that in the last transfer season if it's has rumored so many times Dortmund was approving if jude wanna leave from the club.

Dortmund is a club that has a very good business oriented in football and its implementation was also very good by buying the new player at a cheap price and then trying to develop it to make it can be sold for a high price.

If you are aware of dortmund is having the biggest chance to take the trophy from bayern this season but dortmund was not lucky enough to win against schalke. Schalke was able to force the result to be drawn.

Dortmund policy is really affecting them, how can a club sell their best players and expect to perform very well and to win the league.  I don't see Dortmund good enough to the Bundesliga league this season. Dortmund have the habit of selling their best players and don't make plans of winning trophies.

i think normally you can congratulate bayern münchen on the german championship again. like almost every year, the other teams give away their points.
that's how it's always been in the last 10 years. you think that dortmund might have a chance at the title and then they only get one lucky point in gelsenkirchen.
that's just too little for a top team. dortmund, leipzig, wolfsburg, leverkusen! all these clubs want to become german Bundesliga champion again.
but look at their performance! they won't achieve this goal in the next 20 years. bayern münchen has to play the match with 8 players.

Dortmund needs to be ambitious in terms of their policies the German league is listed amongst the top 5 leagues in Europe but the competition they're giving to Bayern is it top notch they need to learn to keep their best players and not ell them out as if they are sporting Lisbon or Ajax their mentality is only on making profit not to win titles and as long as that is on Bayern will continue to win their league title..

Its a shame and i am really disappointed from Dortmund a bit.
And also Union Berlin against Wolfsburg played a draw and they all have played again for Bayern munich.
Hopefully this lost points for Dortmund and Union Berlin will be not missed for them laters when the season gets to the end.
Next week it would be interesting when Munich is playing in Leverkusen.

I was really surprised aswell right now that Dortmund made an error and the match ends in a draw now Bayern Munich is left with 2 points advantage with the position, which set Bayern Munich to have 2 points lead and a breather for them, well Schalke made a great defense in securing that Dortmund would just have 2 goals and surely Dortmund is having a bad time with their defense in letting Schalke make 2 goals to make it a draw, well I think this is because Dortmund really has an open defense that is likely easy to penetrate and this is really Dortmund problem ever since,


Well, maybe Dortmund really underestimated Schalke, we all know even if those teams are in the below position if you underestimated them they can surely bite you, and Dortmund didn't realize this and it was really too late because Schalke already tighten their defense, or Dortmund really has a bad day that time, that is why their play was really off,


There are so many games that ended up in a draw Hertha VS Mainz, Eintracht Frankfurt VS Stuttgart, Schalke VS Dortmund, and recently Wolfsburg VS Union Berlin matches, well I surely notice that Wolfsburg is getting great with their matches and has to leave Union Berlin in utter shocked but surely Wolfsburg also struggles in making another goal against Union Berlin because surely Union Berlin's defense is crazy aswell,

The match ended in a draw with all teams scoring one goal, Union Berlin wasted many chances to still be a title contender this season with their results I think they are out. The match was well controlled by the hosts, even though they had fallen behind they were able to equalize and get 1 point.
It seems that Union Berlin has experienced a significant decline in performance so that they have had unsatisfactory results in the last few matches, it is quite unfortunate about that because they were predicted to make Bayern's move to be difficult but that only happens in the early part of the season after that they just keep going down.

We can't really blame them for their struggles. As Mourinho said in an interview now he is jealous of Bayern because when Nagelsmann needs to bring on three new players, those players are called Gnabry, Sané and Mané. Mourinho added he would be happy to even have only one of those three guys!

Now Union Berlin isn't used to that pace although Bayern doesn't even play the best of the best right now. But if even Dortmund isn't able to keep pace, how should Union Berlin then be able to? Now it is only a question of time for Bayern to win the championship again and it is once more because their strongest contenders are losing games against weak teams. But even Bayern can't be satisfied when they concede three goals in a home game against Augsburg. They just don't care because the only thing that counts are the three points.

Union Berlin already have a better season than they could imagine when the season began. What they got recent weeks is common problem with small clubs that struggle to maintain their performance within a long season with limited player resource. They can not compare with Bayern Munich and now three clubs have 45 points, Dortmund also started to fall behind Bayern Munich again.

I actually think that only Dortmund will be able to compete with Bayern Munich in this season for Bundesliga trophy. Other three clubs will have to accept that they only are able to compete for top four positions.

Union Berlin have won just one of their last 7 matches. They won the Europa League match against Ajax. Also we saw poor performances from Union Berlin in all other matches. Now Union Berlin is 7 points behind Bayern Munich and is fourth in the points table.

Union Berlin's performance is deteriorating day by day. Union Berlin's main weakness is their attack. Berlin does not have enough talented players in the forwards. And due to the lack of experienced strikers, we are not getting the expected performance from Union Berlin.

Union Berlin's poor form still continues. This was their fourth game in a row that they lost points in the league. Their most recent game was against Wolfsburg away though. I see it normal that they had problems against Wolfsburg. Of course Union Berlin don't have any claim on the league title normally. But after that work they have done so far I assume the fans have made an improvement in their expectations as well.

But their job about keeping themselves in top four will not be easy at all. This performance wouldn't be enough to stay ahead of Freiburg I think.

Bayern is the kind of teams that you don't want to face in any competition. They are very dangerous and rarely slip. The other teams have the chance of winning them only when they are in their weakest time.
In Bundesliga, the gap is just 2 points between Bayern and Dortmund but it is Dortmund fault to get a draw vs Schalke and let Bayern advance.
In my opinion the real fight for the moment is between Leipzig, Union and Freiburg for the 3rd and 4th positions, in order to participate in UCL next season.
For Leverkusen, they might get a chance to play in Conference League if they keep winning.

For a while , I really believed that Bayern will not win Bundesliga this year but it looks I'm wrong , because in their last games ( including UCL games ) they played a top tier football and I'm afraid that competition will stand no chance in Bundesliga and I can also see them achieving UCL final and maybe even winning it.

Instead , we have a great competition from 2nd place until 6th place as their are up tight in points and anything can happen , including teams like Leverkusen who are back on track , to slowly climb back in European spots.

Hoffenheim usually isn't a bad team although it is hard to make anyone believe that when you just look at the standings in the table of course. There have been a few games that could have also ended in their favor, but that's nothing anybody asks for when in the end you are left there with empty hands. The last four games they have lost them all with just one goal difference.

But the awful truth is that they won their last game on January 9th. I have no idea how it was even possible for them to crash so hard. To even take the last position in the table when we have all seen how bad Schalke was performing. It doesn't look well for them in regards to any potential turn around. They are stuck, but the good news is that the other teams are stuck to a certain degree as well.

Bochum is scoring every now and then even in an away game now when nobody expected them to. My guess is that Stuttgart and Hoffenheim will have the hardest time to stay in the 1. Bundesliga.
