Mentioned a couple of days ago I actually put Hamburg on my ticket every now and then, but that's when they're in 2nd B, where the odds forget they're almost good enough for the top tier. Better they stay there. Berlin, well. Windhorst said pre covid that he was going to be here, 6 months, 1 year, 2 years.

It's not 3 and they've not gone top 10, they've just escaped relegation by a whisker.

It really is another huge disappointment for Hamburg after all the close calls for moving up into the Bundesliga in the last years. Maybe the worst so far... they were really close in making it, but the relegation games are brutal from the point of view of the 2nd league team. Next year, Hamburg has to play and win more consistently in the league to end up in the Top2 ranks.

The 3rd rank in the 2nd league mainly gives you false hope. Now 11 out of 14 years (almost 80% of the time) the Bundesliga team won the relegation match. It's just not an even fight.

Borussia Dortmund was so bad this season. In fact, their defence non existent. Every game I watched was a goal fest. I hope that as they have now appointed Edin Terzic to replace Marco Rose, he will change Dortmund with those new signings. They really need to buy good defenders. They have no quality at the back at all.

I always think that teams that are barely standing and not having any type of success at all, should go down and that would be much better for them. I know that many do not find it so, but I believe that if you go down one league, then you could get better in a longer period of time.

For example, if you end up going down and stay there for 2-3 seasons but handle all financial troubles, get rid of all the excess players and salaries, gather some more momentum and even sell some players that helped you go back up, then when you are finally back up, your first season will eventually be much better. Most teams that go up will finish their first year amazingly. Use that and you will be doing much better.

That was not a good performance from Hamburger SV. Hertha Berlin played much more aggressively. They wanted to win. They were much closer to the opponent and ran much more. Hamburger SV had no ideas. It was a deserved victory for Hertha Berlin.

A very good game for Berlin and a disappointing result for the Hamburg team who won from away in the first leg of their match but failed to register a goal in the second leg of the encounter. Berlin utilizes their opportunity to get an early goal and the goal motivated them to perform because they dominated the game starting from the first half even after getting the goal that they want they still fought for the win till the finale whistle.

Before the rematch, I really started to believe that Hamburg were going to promote to the Bundesliga as the third team. But it didn't happen. Hertha Berlin's performance in the rematch was just amazing and they totally deserved to get this 2-0 win. Hamburg were terrible in the first half but they improved their performance much more in the second half. But it was still not enough to score even goal. I don't know what went wrong with Hamburg in this game to be honest. Congratulations to Hertha Berlin for staying here.

I feel sorry for hamburger team after all that effort and the good performance they showed in the second half of the bundesliga 2 they deserved better in my opinion but in today game they were totally off clearly hertha berlin was the better team, they were too close, its the third season where they could've been promoted but in my opinion they will regret not seasing this year chance.

Although, I understand that Bayern Munich is a tough team to compete with. Dormund had chances of getting more closer to Bayern, but messed it all up. Hertha BSC managed to score a second goal to make it 2-0 and they were able to keep that two goal advantage up until the end of the game. The second goal for Hertha was kinda weird in my opinion because i think you should never be able to directly score a goal via a freekick from that position. So they goalkeeper of HSV definitely looked quite bad at the second goal.
Overall i have to say that after the performance of today Hertha totally deserved to stay in the first Bundesliga because today it really looked like a club from the first Bundesliga playing against a club from the second Bundesliga. This was not the case in the first leg but today it was very obvious.
