I will say that Borussia Dortmund got tired of playing the chasing  game every season without being able to stop Bayern Munich. It is not easy chasing someone for good eleven season and still the person keeps improving and doing better. Funny enough Dortmund best players those days always dream of playing for Bayern Munich and Dortmund always fail to prevent them from going to Play for Bayern Munich. Since stopping Bayern Munich was proving too difficult for Dortmund, the best they could do was to turn into a selling club since winning the trophy was out of their reach. But something like this wouldn't have happened if other clubs back then were able to up their games and provided more competition for Bayern Munich. That's why it's good for a league to have more than two teams capable of winning the league. Gradually Bayern Munich dominance of Bundesliga is coming to an end. But how long can Leverkusen go, will they fall off like Dortmund along the way or will other clubs still join them and end Bayern Munich dominance totally?

I understand why Dortmund sells players, they don't want to risk failing again. Better this way, at least they remain competitive. Rome always the best!

The story of why Dortmund sold their talent is a long one. We should understand the whole story. The strategy of not buying superstars but creating superstars originated from the financial crisis that plagued Dortmund in 2004. It is true that over the past 20 years, Dortmund has still played well and is a force in world football even though the team only has young players. Dortmund themselves were on the brink of bankruptcy and they do not want to repeat that. So they had to sell stars to maintain the team's finances.

Dortmund may be financially stable but it is very difficult to win titles. Dortmund are the ones who produce top football stars but then end up selling them to strengthen other teams. Fate is so ironic for them, hopefully, one day Dortmund will have enough financial resources to not need to sell talented stars, at that time I think Dortmund will be a formidable football force.

Yes Leverkusen's unbeaten record in the Bundesliga has been broken this season but they still deserve to continue fighting until the end in the hunt for the title with other elite clubs Bayern Munich and Dortmund, 3 points behind not too far for the start of the season because there are still many matches to be played and I am sure sooner or later Bayern Munich or other elite clubs will soon follow their first defeat.

Talking about the Champions League match, it seems quite difficult to predict the victory because they have never met each other before but I think Feyenoord is quite advantaged because their first match will be played at home which is certainly not easy for Leverkusen who will play the match in the Netherlands.

The Dortmund management never tried to win the Bundesliga title and did not build the squad. Dortmund management aimed to find talented players. and making money by selling players at high prices. And that's what we saw from the Dortmund management. The Dortmund team is a renowned team in the Bundesliga. And enough rich club Dortmund. Leverkusen will not repeat the same mistake and they must get 3 points this time. Hoffenheim is not an opponent who will be able to stop them and on the contrary, Leverkusen players' confidence has increased after losing in the previous week. It does not have to win by a large number of goals because Leverkusen will still play other important matches and the need to maintain the stamina of their players to stay fit is a focus that they must also pay attention to. Previously Dortmund was reported with lot of confidence from everyone when they managed to bring in Sehrou Guirassy who is Stuttgart mainstay player in the front position as sharp striker and reliable goal machine, but at the beginning of this season he still couldn't appear with Dortmund.
If Sehrou Guirassy participates in Dortmund next match maybe we will see them win with quite lot of goal, I can't wait to see it.

Yes you are right Borussia Dortmund used to be great team but now they are not doing well because they care more about making money than winning games. They used to challenge Bayern Munich but now they sell their best players for a lot of money and do not think about how it will affect their team. This has made them weaker and now Bayer Leverkusen is strong competitor to Bayern Munich. Leverkusen wants to win trophies and be the best and that is why they are doing well. Dortmund needs to think about what is important again if they want to be top team. They made a mistake by focusing on money instead of winning and now they need to change.

I will say you’re right on this. We only use to know of Dortmund and Bayern Munich and when there’s a match between this two teams, it’s always full of excitement and intriguing moments. Dortmund have really lose their stance in the league and they’ll just have to be more careful not to get worse in the coming years. I see that their performance is kind of averagely good, so I think they can contend for the league title this season if they want to. Selling of good players for business is always their priority, but I think they can only hope for a better season ahead for themselves if they want to and not focus on the business oriented part of the club that’s trying to still their core moments in football.

BVB keeps saying they want to perform at the top level in all competitions, but talk is cheap. It doesn't seem like they are willing to put the money where their mouth is and invest in top-shelf players to stop being a permanent underdog in the European cups, counting mostly on luck.
As I said before, to me it looks like the club is content with staying in the shadow of Bayern (and maybe now Bayer as well), and they're not willing to risk any money to take the club to another level.
But it works for them I guess. That's still enough to finish in the top of the Bundesliga and qualify for the UCL.

Harry Kane clinging on triple individual title award at a go Its something I thought would have spark up some discussions but no one is talking about it as anything of a serious milestone to his football career probably because it's not a trophy we are talking about here. Its a pity though that despite always being at the top of his game in every season even while he was with Tottenham Hotspur and still maintaining the top flight form in Bayern Munich he still has won a major trophy to his profile, but I personally believe the England striker has a higher chance of winning a major trophy with Bayern Munich very soon as he's with much favours playing for the Germany club.

The Bundesliga have changed totally from last season after Bayern Leverkusen where able to win and collect the title of the Bundesliga form Bayern Munich who have been winning it for the past decade. It is good to see a worthy contender for the league title and not just one team winning it over again. Bayern Leverkusen have given hope to all other teams especially the top ones that always try to be competent competitors, they may as well try to win this time around and we going to see a more interesting Bundesliga than it use to be.


Is defending a title some kind of burden? I don’t think so and if they feel they have a title defend, it will give them more hope and try their best to be at the top of the standings while prioritising every match and winning them. There must be a reason for a driven force in a team, and if that of the Bayern Leverkusen’s is the retaining of the title, that’s should be their watchword and target for the season.

Dortmund are the engineers of their own downfall. I can remember those years when Dortmund were the only team giving Bayern Munich tough competition each season but those glory days are slowly disappearing because Dortmund turned their priority to be a business oriented club and selling out every top talent they get for huge profits not minding the competition ahead of them. Leverkusen have now stepped up to become the contender for Bayern Munich. They are focused on competing and winning trophies.

Every team's performance is not the same every season, there are some changes.  And if they have aggi, it doesn't matter that much because it depends on the teams how they perform and what they don't.  Leverkusen's performance really suits him because they are hard-working and strong, if they weren't, it would have gone to any other team.  But at this time this right goes to them.  Look, there are teams with better performance than Bayern, but if they perform and play like Bayern, it is a little difficult to beat them because their players don't take time to change their direction and take the lost match to themselves.  It was not in their power to defeat them.  Now if they don't think about it then it will be good because they will think for their win then good otherwise they will play for something else then they will really regret it.

Is it a duty to defend the unbeaten record? I think it is not a duty. It is not a must to repeat the unbeaten record in the last season. I'm very sure Xabi Alonso never tries to defend it because it is something really difficult to do. But I'm surprised that Leverkusen is quite fast to lose the points, they lost 3 points in matchday 2. Losing points will be always bad, they looked unconvincingly to win again the league title.

Even they won the match, they will always target to win every single match. There will be no change with Leverkusen target, they must expect to win every match. They actually too enjoy the match, they made too many opportunities. Unfortunately Leverkusen show infective match, they wasted too many chances of scoring goals.

Leipzig always finished the season in the top 4 (UCL zone). I don't think this team is lack of consistency. Sure Leipzig is a strong team in Bundesliga, it is actually not very surprising to see Leipzig beating Leverkusen.

There are good and bad effects to the Leverkusen. The good thing is they have no duty to defend their record. The bad thing is they are crushed by their first loss since last season.

But i take it more positively, they can enjoy the upcoming game without a target to defend their record. It helps them to enjoy the game better than when they have a burden to defend their record.

Leipzig lacked consistency. But, they destroyed Leverkusen's unbeaten record. So, they must be seen as a strong team.

I think it makes no difference because after all, previously Dortmund were also talked about again because of Klopp's presence at Dortmund's training session in this international break. But if that doesn't happen, I personally still believe that Dortmund always have a chance to at least be in the top four. Because after all, competition in the race for trophies is also becoming increasingly difficult because it is no longer just about one or two teams, but in fact there are other teams that have also managed to improve the quality of their performance to enter the race for trophies.

When a team has a number of quality players and they are in good form, no matter the number of competitions, I don't think it will be a great problem for them because they have the players to switch for different competitions. However, as for Bayer Leverkusen, I can't say they have as many quality players in their team as Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester, Bayern, and so on. These teams have won different trophies in a season before.

If Leverkusen is really as strong as some people are hyping them to be, focusing on different competitions should not be their problem. The truth about Bayer Leverkusen winning the league last season is that it was largely because Bayern was not in great form. I saw last season as an opportunity for Leverkusen to win the Bundesliga. This season hasn’t gone far, and they have already encountered one loss.



It is only a few people that are expecting Bayern Munich to win this season's trophy. Many people are still keeping hope in Leverkusen to win it again this season. The reason why many are not giving hope to Bayern is because of their new coach, Kompany, which they view is not an experienced coach based on his records as coach in football and agan this is first season in Bayern Munich, so thinking it may things difficult to fix, which could distract him from winning the Bundesliga trophy this season. However, I have more confidence in Bayern Munich to win the Bundesliga than Leverkusen or any other team. But let's see what will happen after the results of a few more matches before judging and finding the favorite team to win the Bundesliga.

Leverkusen vs hoffenheim will be the third week of the Bundesliga this season, the two teams so far have no difference at all in the early season matches because they both won 1 win and also 1 defeat, but even that does not mean that the two clubs have the same quality so it is difficult for us to betting on them, if you look at the performance and quality of the team, of course Leverkusen is the right choice for our favorite,  because obviously they are still a tough team this season even though in the previous match they lost, what @MarjorieZimmermanGinger said is very true, because indeed in the match against Leipzig Leverkusen was still able to show the same performance and quality of play as last season but they were a little unlucky when they started to lose focus when the match almost ended,  So I think the Leverkusen squad has certainly learned from the mistake and doesn't want to repeat it again in the match against Hoffenheim later, the odds of 1.57 for a Leverkusen victory to be a more realistic option compared to the odds of 5.50 for a Hoffenheim victory.   

How can Leverkusen remain unbeaten in the local league tournament as they have already lost one match. They did not start this season the way they finished last season. Losing an early match means a huge drop in confidence, as was the case with Leverkusen. However, the idea that a team from undefeated will usually win the title every season is wrong, so Leverkusen will have to keep trying and compete hard with the big teams. Essentially easy matches they must win especially if they are to go level with Bayern Munich at the end of the competition. Leverkusen will certainly have higher expectations as they move from the Europa League to the Champions League this season.
