To me, i see the Haaland situation as Dortmund refusing to sell up 2 core squad members in the same summer; it is not about the money involved, or the release clause in Haaland contract. It is about keeping the Dortmund squad competitive ahead of a new season.
On the other hand, the Player himself has shown no signs of wanting to leave, and ofcourse not to London. Dortmund would earn huge bucks from Haaland departure; either this summer or next summer
It is true that Haaland doesn't appear on rush to quit Dortmund as Mbappe on PSG but that doesn't mean that he wants to stay there until 2024 imo.
Dortmund is known to farm good players, I mean they pick future top players, make them stars then sell them and so on. They want to compete in European leagues, they want to have the Bundesliga title but they aren't spending a lot to do it.
It seems that Mbappe is also in no hurry to leave Paris Saint-Germain in this transfer window and is happy to finalize the contract Grin Another question is that, unlike the situation with Haaland, after the end of his contract, Mbappe will become a free agent and, to the great pleasure of Real Madrid, you will not have to pay anything for the transfer Wink Borussia Dortmund need to think a lot before turning down lucrative offers for Haaland, because anything can happen and no one is immune from injuries or a drop in the level of play that is characteristic of many young players after a couple of successful seasons in the championship at an adult level.

After Brentford in England, Dortmund is another team that i cherish their business model; they run the club properly and competitively on or off the pitch; with set targets in place for every transfer window, as well as a tailored replacements for players too. MY predicition though is an Haaland move to Manchester United in the 2022 summer; while Mbappe gets his dream move to Real Madrid

I remembered the truth when you said it. Yes, he can be released for €75 million a year. There are at least 10 teams that will line up to pay this fee. So selling Haaland this year makes every sense. €150 million is a very good fee.  I hope Dortmund can sell it this year.  For that money they can get a very good striker.
If Dortmund can find a good offer about €150 million, they will sell Haaland immediately because they know Haaland will leave the club and they will have cheaper offer in the next two years.

Unfortunately, with financial sufferings from the pandemic, €150 million is very expensive, even the player is Haaland. Dortmund must announce cheaper transfer price for Haaland. €100 - 120 million is more realistic and feasible price for other clubs to buy Haaland.

Haaland's current market price is 130 million euros based on transfermarkt, rumors Chelsea are willing to pay but Dortmund are not willing to sell Haaland this season
It seems Dortmund are still ambitious with the title this season and Haaland is one of the proponents for that.

If Dortmund wants to have any chance to compete for the title, they can't let Haaland go. If they let him go I would almost bet any amount of money that they are not going to be champion in the Bundesliga. Sancho is gone and if Haaland is also gone and two or three players might be injured during the season, it is definitely over.

If Haaland doesn't sell this year and Dortmund doesn't extend his contract, his contract expires next year. BvB Dortmund could lose a football star like Haaland for free with no revenue. They are also aware of this. So if the contract cannot be renewed, it would be more profitable for them to sell it.
Haaland contract expires in June 2024 but he can quit Dortmund next year after paying €75m.
I read Chelsea offered around €150m to Dortmund, accept it or leave it, I think it is a golden chance for Dortmund otherwise they will lose him next year most probably for half that number!

Haha oh my god, anyone saw the results for Schalke against Hamburg? The Schalke guys continue they way they played the whole last season. It would be really funny to see Schalke lose the first five or six games. They would get so nervous, probably starting the plans for third league! Cheesy
Yes it was a bit of a shock for the schalke fans to see their team in the same situation as last year and with a different squad maybe the problem is that these players have not being playing together and its just a temporary situation or they have the same club problems and we will see the same performance as last year.

The problem they have is that now they lack confidence massively and have enormous self-doubts. If they can't manage to get the situation under control quickly, I bet they are getting into serious trouble even in the second league. Other teams realize Schalke can be beaten and that raises optimism for any opponent Schalke is going to face. Rough times ahead of Schalke.

The fact that the player does not speak publicly about the possibility of his transfer does not mean anything. Haaland has an agent for this, who is probably working in this direction. The fact that the player, his father and agent remain silent on this issue indicates that the player and the club have a normal relationship and all working issues will be resolved without excessive outrage and exposure to the general public. It is quite difficult to talk about the competitiveness for the new season of a team like Borussia Dortmund, which is happy to sell half of the squad in the off-season and starts creating a new team every time. Because it is unclear with whom and for what the team will compete Grin
This is the policy of the club, in this topic it has already been repeatedly discussed that the club is aimed at making money, for the owners it is a business, and it is clear that with such a strategy there is no goal of winning the Bundesliga, or European cups. But the club is always doing well with finances, it really helps in the development of new players. There is a similar club in France, this is Monaco, they also sell their rising stars without thinking and educate new ones.

It is professional work and can bring benefit for all. Some players make conflicts with clubs they are playing for and break their reputation because of a new club they want to move to.

Those players care about their personal interests rather than any club. When they feel their demand is not satisfied, they will create other drama, conflict and find another club.

I respect Haaland from his performances on field and his response to transfer news from many big clubs. He shows his respect on Dortmund. It seems to be a good and trusted player.

At the moment Dortmund should sell Haaland. 150m is a very large amount of money. Maybe Haaland should be sold, otherwise they can add some experienced players to the team by spending more money. Then they can expect to win the title. Relying on Haaland alone is not possible to win the title.

Yes Haaland is very quiet, but from a money perspective that calculation may not work which was provided before here. If they sell Haaland for 150 million but then miss the Champions League, I guess they haven't won anything. They have merchandise revenue from him, the stadium will be full during the CL and so on and so forth. 75 million difference is a lot of money, but still missing the CL costs a lot of money as well.

That is really a lot of money. In the end, they will certainly be paid a little less, but they could build something new from that. But if they don't sell him, they still have a great player and with him they can reach the Champignons League....where there is also a lot to earn.

~snip~ They are already willing to pay huge amount of money for him. He is a candidate to become the second most expensive player in history. This situation really resembles City's trying to sign Kane but Tottenham's doing everything they can to keep him.
Achievement and money are closely related. Who has the money he can buy players with the potential to achieve great achievements. Yes, let's see if this happens, maybe chelsea will be the favorites to win the EPL next season. Some clubs often use the excuse of retaining to achieve a predetermined transfer value, so it's natural.

How Haaland can have that term in his contract with Dortmund? It is a very good term for him to release himself from Dortmund and find bigger clubs. If your information is correct, Dortmund should sell Haaland in this summer. Because I am sure that Haaland does not want to end his career or finish the contract to 2024 with Dortmund.

I think such term usually is included two seasons before the end of a contract.

Haaland’s Dortmund release clause inactive for 2 years

Quote
A report from The London Evening Standard says that Haaland’s $82 million release clause isn’t active until 2022. His contract runs through the 2023-24 season, so he won’t even be entering the final year of his deal, either.

Absolutely deserved if you ask me. Lewandowski is breaking one record after another and was once again the strongest Bundesliga player last season. With a performance like that, you can really only applaud him. I am curious whether he will be able to maintain his outstanding form in the next few years. He' s not getting any younger after all.

According to a source, Bayer Leverkusen have rejected a £30m offer from Aston Villa for Leon Bailey (23). I really enjoyed watching him in the last season. He got 9 goals and 9 assists in 30 Bundesliga games. I think he is a player who has a good potential and he is still young. If he has another productive season, maybe we can see him at a big club in the next season.

His talent is without question great and he is still young. But he's been at Bayer Leverkusen for several years and he hasn't made the big breakthrough yet. I think he will not make this breakthrough, because he always draws attention to himself with escapades. And with the Jamaican national team, he doesn't have the best team to draw attention to himself in international competitions. For me, the best sign of whether a Bundesliaga player is world class (or has the potential to become word class) is when Bayern Munich is interested. And they haven't had that so far.
