today's match in the 1.bundesliga between mainz 05 and hertha bsc berlin ended 1-1. berlin led 1-0 after just under half an hour, but mainz answered promptly and equalized at 1-1.
with this point can live mainz 05 rather better than the hertha, which is still in the penultimate place in the table

Nothing much to see in Bundesliga about the upcoming two games on calendar (Mainz Hertha and Hertha Freiburg), unless you are a Hertha supporter   
I will be waiting for the next round which has two super games scheduled: Dortmund Leipzig and Bayern Munich Borussia Mönchengladbach.
It can be a difficult game for Bayern and Leipzig could take that opportunity to win three super heavy points.

Forgot about the DFB-Pokal as usual and found out about the game in the news, seeing Dortmund winning isn't a surprise although it is stressful to know that Kiel kicked Bayern 5-0 was good but watching the replay of Morey's injury sucks, even Haaland closed his eyes when he saw it. Schalke 04 still has 3 games to play in the 1st Bundesliga before it goes down to the 2nd Bundesliga. to ensure that the boys from Gelsenkirchen are promoted again directly afterwards,
they have probably signed Simon Terodde from Hamburger SV for the next season. he is supposed to shoot the Schalke team back into the first Bundesliga.
maybe Schalke will have more luck with Terodde than with Jan Claas Huntelar.the television station sky sports news HD reported it today
terodde gets a one-year contract with an option for another year !

Dortmund didn't just advance to the final. They demolished Kiel 5-0 in the first half already and that was the final result also. I really can't believe that this Kiel managed to eliminate Bayern.    It's really interesting.

I was noticing the amazing performance of Mainz in the last five games: from hell and back it seems because they now look much more safe than they were 5 games before. I don't know what happened to these players but I'm placing a bet on them winning today; Hertha doesn't' look like able to stop them.

and the result was/is really clear... dortmund needed only one half-time to send holstein kiel, who were completely overtaxed, 5-0 back to the far north. and the whole thing also without E. Haaland who dropped out shortly before the game due to injury.
nonetheless, i hope we will see holstein kiel in the 1. bundesliga next season

I guess a team from a lower division managing to fight for a cup is always a good story, it will always have a good memory for like 2 seasons at best but then it will be forgotten. There has been many attempts, most of the time unsuccessful, this one will probably that way as well and they will fail, they have come great so far but they will be gone very soon.

What I think is the big deal is that when people are fighting for something like this, they do not really believe in themselves neither, I have been around sports long enough and known enough players in many different sports enough to know that even if you beat bayern, dortmund, leipzig, wolfsburg and the such to go to finals, if you are a team that is seen as "unlikely to win" and go against hertha berlin, you will still doubt yourself big time and will always have "even if we lose we achieved so much" mindset as well.

And Leipzig managed to move Bremen out of their way in a very tough match. They hardly managed to eliminate Bremen in the last minutes of extra time. I really appreciated Bremen's effort also. They resisted to Leipzig really well.

Actually, this should be a clear thing for Dortmund. But that's what I also thought in the Bayern versus Kiel match Kiel plays a very good second division season but has not played quite so well in recent games. Dortmund, on the other hand, has regained its balance in recent weeks. That's why I think Dortmund will clearly advance today.

Are you talking about the DFB Pokal? If so, I have not followed it this year but I have just found out that Holstein Kiel, which is playing against Dortmund today, basically sent Bayern home a few rounds back! A team from Bundesliga2 trying to win the Pokal is always very entertaining.
I do not think they can win tonight but I am curious to watch the match.

It was an entertaining match indeed. Bremen became successful on keeping the score and extending the match. In the extra time, they still managed to answer Leipzig's goal. But the goal came from Leipzig in the last moments of the extra time really devastated Bremen. They were eliminated but I appreciate the effort of both sides.

if bremen had also shown this performance in the bundesliga matches, the club would have been saved from relegation long ago this season
and i could hardly believe that the 1-2 was scored in the very last minute of the extra-time yesterday... everyone was almost prepared for the penalty shootout...

This is really a good one we can not see any unthinkable Hertha Berlin has a good defense in my opinion and has a chance of winning when playing home and right now the stadium is Olympiastadion, but Hertha is winless against Freiburg in their last 2 matchups but now the Berlin is playing at their turf and Freiburg will be having a rough time while playing Berlin at home, because their last 4 matches with Berlin away from home end up in a loss, and doesn't have the best score when they are away their turf,

Normally I would surely say Freiburg will win this because of their ranking but the possibility when Hertha is on their turf can chance that.


Normally going with the odds can be a simple solution to this, but looking at a situation can sure help as well and that match between Bayern may be a plop but right now Hertha Berlin is playing away and their game just cut off and they are not in good form while playing away, and Mainz is not been beaten in their last 3 matches when at home,

Yes it may be a close game and we can always put our bet on the draw when we are seeing match-ups that are very even but I look for possibilities and all situations Mainz are playing on their Turf and playing against Hertha that are away that sums up they had a bigger chance I am not closing the conclusion that they might win I am just giving them a chance in winning and besides we can never know whos really going to win.

I really did not expect such an entertaining game between Werder and Leipzig today. Fair play to Werder, they played at their best and they deserved the penalty shootout. That Forsberg goal in the 120th minute will be really hard to take.

Dortmund will have a much easier task in the 2nd semifinal. Kiel kicked out Bayern early in the competition but I give them no chance tomorrow.

Everyone can agree that this game will be a quite close game, nobody can say who will win this game and its going to be a challenging one. I think it is going to be Hertha that will win this game, but you never know what will happen. Mainz beating Bayern was pure luck that is for sure, Bayern is clearly the best team in the league, they have been for nearly a decade now, but that game was just unlucky for Bayern and that's about it, nothing more to discuss.

And this is why I do not think that Mainz beating Bayern once means anything about the upcoming Hertha game, those are different situations, Bayern is much better team than Mainz but guaranteed the championship so they didn't care whereas Mainz was trying to not relegate, whereas with Hertha it is both teams trying to not relegate so it will be a bit more difficult to handle that instead.

Leipzig have been dominating the game so far. However, Bremen just won a penalty but it was not given by the VAR decision. Cup games could be really interesting. Bremen may even eliminate Leipzig somehow , which I don't believe, and surprise everyone.

I think that Werder Bremen today has no chance of winning. Leipzig is a clear faowrit that will confidently win and score two or more goals. In the championship, Werder Bremen is also in an unstable position, and the next defeat may put them in the relegation zone.

Its really hard to say and to place a bet on the coming game between Hertha and Freiburg !
Normaly Freiburg should be win this match as they played well the last weeks and they got no break .
But we have seen so many crazy results this season already and i would be not surprised about unexpected result in this game.

Yes, Mainz is just lucky to win the recent Bayern game, but even though Hertha is below just up the Standings with Schalke, I really think Hertha is not a pushover, they are just unlucky this season as with their previous game with Gladbach, Gladbach have a difficult time with Hertha and their game end up in a draw, the Union Berlin game is a draw as well, Hertha can sure put a fight but the lack of offensive player is a thing that I think Hertha lack, or maybe a good sponsoring will surely give them a moral boost.
