We can't give any assessment for Vincent Kompany, in the first Bundesliga match Bayern did win but I don't think that's enough to say that Vincent Kompany has given a positive effect or made Bayern much better this season.

Kompany has been given enough funds, he is given space to choose players according to his wishes. They should be able to learn from last year's mistakes. Management also has to be wise with the coach, I think the change of coach with a short term is also bad.
As for UCL Munich, they are an experienced team, so I think they are able to compete. But the current condition I am quite doubtful that they are able to win UCL Trophy this season.

But you can not look away from the head to head statistics since it points out to the performance of the team when ever they meet, Bayer Leverkusen has a better record when you work with the head to head and going with their previous season they still maintain the winning mentality even till this moment so hosting Lepzig at home wouldn't be an easy game since Lepzig has been consistent in the league for a long time but their consistency wouldn't stop Bayer Leverkusen from getting all 3 points in you consider their home record.
