Nope, nothing going my way. Should have stuck to backing Hertha so my 3-leg parlay already dead in water. Also lost backing Schalke who were miserable against Dortmund so that's 2 games I lost already. Not a great start so far, and this suggests teams are as strong as before?

@Harkorede at least there wasn't that weird sound of the goal music celebration like the closed door match I saw with Juventus pre lockdown! My streams were really, really bad though. I guess bandwidth totally down with millions watching =(

The no spectators part of all this will be something need adjusting to. It's so weird!

Weird indeed! Hearing the sound of every kicking of the ball, the yelling and almost every conversation on the pitch, lol 😆 it'll be great tume to watch a Simeone's or Klopp's team play..

I was tuned in to the Augsburg vs Wolfsburg game, I had quite an amount on that fixture, sadly it didn't go my way   Angry

I'm switching Leipzig's fixture for the 2nd Half, I've got some bucks on them as well :/

Now that is 2-0 for Dortmund by the end of the first half. Nice!
Waiting to see if Schalke will stay silent about this bad score in the first game after Coronavirus outbreak!

Pretty low scoring matches so far, only four goals scored at the half (2 of those thanks to Dortmund), i think that was to be expected.

I'm watching Leipzig and Freiburg (i have a few bets including BTS and O 2.5 on that game), Leipzig are controlling the tempo from the start, had a few decent chances but received a surprising goal from a corner. Leipzig gotta score for me in the second half... Grin

best of luck, everyone!

Nice.  Lol.  I didn't realize that it would be today.  Felt like it was gonna be for another two weeks or so..

And looking at these matches...  It feels like most of them could end in a draw (and some away wins).  No home crowd, less concentration cos Rona.

Finally a good European League resumed and I assume all eyes are here Wink
Watching Dortmund vs Schalke, still 0-0 after +15 minutes, i think Dortmund gonna make it with +1 goals and BTW i can feel the impact of the absence of spectators on game!

Edit: first goal for Dortmund  Smiley

i think that it will be below 2.5, Dortmund did not won the match at home with Schalke since 2015

But Schalke 04 are not having a great season, and they're even in worse run of form, a win from for their last 9 games in all competition is not something to bank on.

I'll be willing to back Dortmund to score over 1.5 goals

Today is the day then, another small step towards normality. I’m really looking forward to the games today, I’ve had an accumulator with multiple games (both teams to score).

I don’t usually bet on the Bundesliga but I’m desperate for anything atm.

Why? Why don't you bet on the Bundesliga games? I think there are always a big opportunities on Bundesliga. Some Bundesliga teams have some very characteristic features. I think this makes betting on Bundesliga very entertaining.

i would bet as well, with small stake, just to celebrate football to be back on the track, and matches today, it is a some kind of history today in Germany, do not remember last time when the season was paused, maybe someone could provide that info
for me, match in Dortmund should be most interesting and that one i will watch, bet is on Freiburg not to lose in Leipzig, as already said

I also have one option right now and its

Dortmund vs Schalke Over 2.5
RB Leipzig vs Freiburg  Over 9.5 Corners
Dusseldorf vs Paderborn  Over 2.5

Any comments about these selections could be apperciated.

I don't even know if I will be able to watch these games, I would have to fight with my sister to watch these games because at this time she is watching her stuff and other TVs are also busy with my relatives

I think you shouldn't miss. None of us shouldn't!
It is not only matches. We will be witnessing a history. The first steps in the name of normalization after such a big epidemic. But more importantly, it will be invaluable to see the reactions of football players.

I think we shouldn't make our bets with huge sums at this stage. Because we don't have much idea about the physical / moral situations of the teams.

 Grin

In fact, I particularly made only two bets and of little value just to test because I don't know what these games will be like because they had a forced stop.

my bets:

RB Leipzig - SC Freiburg

I bet RB Leipzig will win the game

FC Bayern Munich - 1. FC Union Berlin

I bet Bayern Munich will win the game

But I am also very happy to see a football game after a long time. I hope all leagues will return as soon as possible.

i would add one more bet, that is in line with my expectation from the end of this season, and that is that Freiburg will not loose the match in Leipzig, they were in good form this season, it is not easy to beat them when they play away, and Leipzig is not that good at home, as one top aspiration team should be, so i would go for a draw here, or maybe x2, as Freiburg could surprise totally today

small stake, but win can be good, @5.2 for x, and @3.3 for x2

Home advantage in football would no longer have an influence on the matches, if we agree that it's the fans that creates that advantage for the home team, cheering and creating an enjoyable atmosphere for them(the home team), especially when they are attacking.

It will be the same feeling until fans are allowed to go into the stadiums.(but I think it'll be a long time from now)The atmosphere would remain the same, whether for the home or away team, the only voices that will be heard would probably be from the bench, the coaches and teammates on the sidelines.

We have/had an interesting discussion about that here in this thread: [Discussion] There is more to Home Advantage than just Fans

Finally matchday in Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga Shocked In 2. Bundesliga I don't like anything, looks all well-priced as far as you can judge with next to no insight about where the teams stand. For Bundesliga I placed two bets.

Frankfurt tb Mönchengladbach @3.15 3/10
Frankfurt loves these matches against the top teams. Everyone remembers that 5-1 against Bayern last November, but they also beat Leipzig twice (3-1 & 2-0) and Leverkusen (3-0) at home and split points with Dortmund (2-2). They have good mentality in their team for these games, when they are underdog, especially at home. An important ingredient to this success are their fans and as we all know, they will be missing today to push them to the limits, so just small stakes. HC-1 for odds 6.0 above looks good too, if you are brave enough.

Augsburg tb Wolfsburg @3.55 2/10
Wolfsburg is rightfully favourite here, but odds are a bit too high imo. You won't beat them easily, because they play very organized and it's not easy to score against them. Otoh they themselves have trouble scoring all season long. Their topscorer Weghorst is suspended for todays match and he is accounting for over 30% of goals scored. He is replaced by Ginczek, who is a very good 2. Bundesliga striker, but too poor for Bundesliga imo. Augsburg was on a poor run before the break, but losing to Bayern/Gladbach/Leverkusen/Frankfurt is no shame. They can always make things happen at home and one goal scored might be enough to beat offensively struggling Wolfsburg today. Small stakes as well.

Today finally but perhaps prematurely we return to football.
Certainly, the best European leagues are trying to end the season to collect television amounts of money and try to limit the loss due to the stop by as much as possible.

Bundesliga has a huge opportunity today as it is the first to start and will be seen by about 1 billion people (a number estimated by different media) and this will produce unprecedented advertising revenue.
There was even talk of showing free games on youtube for some leagues but I did not follow well how the situation has evolved in the last month.

However, football is back and we hope it will last until the end of the season.

Dusseldorf might be playing at their home stadium today but there will be no fans cheering for the home team, and I guess the home advantage would not have a huge impact on this match, I think Paderborn might be able to gain some point against Dusseldorf today, this match might ends up with a draw at the final whistle.
