Probably at the end of May the 3rd league can start again with the games. But what I don't understand is, why do they start later? Is it because of the organization? Or does the DFL first want to "see" what happens in the 1. and 2. Bundesliga?
I'll also think the same way, Bundesliga is the most important TBH, just how the EPL is more important to the English FA than the Championship or league one. So if the Bundesliga starts without any interruptions due to covid-19 spread or players being unsafe, then the lower German leagues can also resume

The German league is taking a real bold step, and for the sake of football and everyone's safety, I hope it all goes according to plan, less or zero infections, and nothing happens that can lead to a second stop of football(in Germany).

The games for the German Cup (DFB-Pokal) have also been rescheduled. The semi finals will take place on the 9th and 10th of June, while the final should be played on the 4th of July. All matches will take place behind closed doors. The German sports magazine Kicker is reporting on the topic:

I guess that also that the streets will be empty when the games start and everybody will watch it !
But the problem maybe that a few or a lot people will watch together will happens .
Public Viewing? All joking aside.
But something like this can lead to public discussion.  When the first pictures of spectators who celebrating without face mask and bratwurst in hand in public are shown in the press, the whole concept will be questioned.
It will be like a test laboratory throughout Germany.

I think the streets of Germany will be even more empty when next week the football season re-starts there, right ? Haha. I mean the whole planet is waiting for a good football game after all this months and I'm glad Bundesliga is the first league that re-take its normal schedule and in time we will go back to stadium guys, just have a little more patience. For now , lets be glad we're gonna watch some top football.

I read that Bundesliga has strict rules on the Bundesliga resume. Closed-doors stadiums, completely and clubs that allows a single viewer on stadium will be punished by DFB. It is very strict but I agree with that solution to help Bundesliga resume in the pandemic. There are many risks of second, third waves of virus outbreak and such rules help to reduce the severity of outbreaks from players to staffs, viewers, and to community later.

Many players' contracts end on 30 June. So the remaining matchdays should be completed by then.

This is the schedule of Dresden:

May 17th @Hannover
May 22nd Fürth (End of quarantine)
May 26th @Bielefeld
May 29th Stuttgart
TBA @Wehen
June 12th Hamburg
June 16th @Kiel
June 21st @Sandhausen
June 28th Osnabrück

I don't see how Dresden can play Fürth/Bielefeld/Stuttgart, if you want to have level playing field. So you have at least 4 games, that additionally need to be put into June. This is still doable, but if one more team has to go into quarantine, this is all messed up again.

Don't think the season can be finished this way and the "9-round-season" will get suspended at some point with all results nullified. Bielefeld/Stuttgart will promote, Hamburg will play Paderborn in playoffs, Bundesliga will have 20 teams next season.

Could lead to some nice outright betting opportunities, but I will have to make my mind up first, what is the best approach (and check bookmaker T&C's Grin )

I am very happy that the Bundesliga will resume soon on May 16, and have the support of UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin. But while
maintaining a strict health protocol, to prevent the spread of the corona virus. Like a player in a minimal health test once a week, the number
of viewers is limited in stadium, substitute players who are on the bench must keep their distance and spray disinfectant to the entire stadium.
This is also good news for sports betting fans.
Having regular tests (once a week) and maintaining social distancing are good but I don't agree to have limited viewers in stadiums. There are risks of cross-infections and we should not ask for it at the moment. Having the league's resume and good ending for the season. For normal match in stadiums with views, maybe we have to wait for the next season. Let's countdown a few more days till 16 May for the first matches of Bundesliga after months.

Health authorities in Saxony decided to put the whole team under quarantine for 14 days - so they won't/can't play next week at Hannover.
Many players' contracts end on 30 June. So the remaining matchdays should be completed by then. The relegation matches will definitely only be able to take place after 30 June. This means that many players will no longer participate in the relegation. Maybe some players will have switched to the relegation opponent.  Cheesy

The league hasn't even restarted yet, but there are already huge troubles now - namely in Dresden as various sources report. With the first test, there was one player positive. Second test all players were negative. Now with the tests from yesterday, there are two additional players positive. Health authorities in Saxony decided to put the whole team under quarantine for 14 days - so they won't/can't play next week at Hannover.

This also means that they are not able to train etc., so big disadvantage for a team that is fighting against relegation. Normally they should also be guaranteed some preparation time, like all other teams have now, so the whole schedule is f'ed up already Cheesy

Does anyone else thinks that draws will be a lot more frequent during the first games? Specially 0-0 because basically everyone will be tired pretty quickly and conditions and match sharpness is at the bare bottom right now, they didn't even properly get a friendly in before they start playing again, at least when they start the league they play friendlies to get the sharpness back, here they are just going back right in.

So, I think 0-0 draw would be a great possibility for the teams right now, especially if they are lower end teams that play each other. I will definitely check the games and the teams and going to see if there is 0-0 game result bets going on anywhere, I bet that must be paying at least 3x or even 4x, not sure if it will work but sounds like it worths to try.

Will they get booked just like they get when taking off their jersey after a goal (which is the most stupid rule ever btw) ? Lets see how this works in reality Cheesy

True that this is the most stupid rule ever made from DFL and the UEFA !
I think or guess that they already have something in there mind that players also get a yellow card if they hugging after a goal was shooted.
Or you have to pay a fine to the DFL if you dont follow the rules!
Like it was in the curfew when the police catched some people making a party.

Everything is possible at the moment .
But we will see how it all comes and works.

Guess this will be also hard for the players to keep this if they shoot a goal : (...)

No problem for a lot of teams, since they fail to score on a regular basis anyway Grin On a more serious note, I guess a lot of players will forget about it in the heat of the moment - and what will happen then ? Will they get booked just like they get when taking off their jersey after a goal (which is the most stupid rule ever btw) ? Lets see how this works in reality Cheesy

The German League restart is just around the corner.
So that this can take place the next weekend as planned.
Strict regulations awaiting the players when they celebrating goals in the German League , only "short elbow or foot contact" are allowed according to the Bild newspaper to restart the season.

Cheering, clapping and hugging should not be done, the newspaper reported on Friday evening, referring to an internal paper (Covid-19 organization circular special operation) of the German Football League.

Update vom 9.

Do you have any info on where games will be shown on tv?
Premier League will be probably free for all on Youtube, what about Bundesliga?

It will be huge the game played on Korea (KOREA!!) got almost 2 million spectators on Youtube today.

From what I know the rights of broadcasting the game is with BTsports and they do have a streaming website for their subscribers to watch it, now if they will also air the game in Youtube is something unlikely as it will be bad for the paying customers for their website. There is a big chance though that the replays/highlights will be uploaded right after the match which I don't think fans will like so I will see a lot of people preferring to watch on free streaming websites instead.

No idea. We're one week away from the official restart but no word from the DFL about broadcasting games on YT. If anything comes up, I'll post it here.

What are your strategy when placing a bet?
I'm gonna take this restart as if a new season of german top-flight just started. Teams took a 2-month break and now they're going straight back into football action, only with a couple of training sessions...Yeah, sounds like the first matchweek will be a glorified pre-season tournament  Grin So, what i'm going to do:

• Avoid ML, especially home wins, for a couple of weekends. (Dusseldorf WIN @2.17 looks good vs. bottom of the league Padderborn, but remember that there's no psychological "home advantage" -games will be behind closed doors-, crucial for a lot of teams. Same with Hoffenheim WIN @2.08).
• Consider double chance. (i'm expecting draws so i'll give DB a shot).
• Total goals market could be good (all the teams will have sloppy defences, sloppy finishing, sloppy GK's...expect a goal fest in most games).

Who has decided that the EPL games will be broadcasted free on youtube?
Do you know the channel? If Bundesliga is going to be broacasted on Youtube as well this is going to be huge. I would not miss any Leipzig games till the end of the season.

I haven’t seen that reported, do you have a good source? I don’t think BT Sport & Sky will be very happy if this happens because they pay for the rights to show the live football in the PL.
