OP, I see your joy in getting merit from your task. You know it gives a  sense of belonging when you see the positive results of your labour   and achievement on this platform as that is the rewards for a well done work. Merits some how motivates one to do more work by contributing to the development of this platform or help to guide newbies to know the way forward here.
As for newbies, to gain merit is what they are eager to do. So in that course, they go extra miles to rendering services within their capacity to achieving their goals. But it is not all about the merit gained but of knowledge acquired in the course of  your stay here. You can not keep gaining merits without gaining more knowledge from the platform on which you have been a member for so long.

Bitcoin = Financial freedom
This may seem trivial to those who already rank high in the forums. but it really means a lot to beginners. Gaining Some Merits actually can revive dormant Motivation. But still I also realize that just motivation is not enough. but also must be accompanied by an increase in insight. with more diligent reading and so on.
Other beginners must also feel this way, right? I doubt if only I feel this pleasure.
Not just for newbies, it's really a good thing to earn for anyone but being obsessed with getting merits is different and I hope you won't chase behind the merits just focus on gaining knowledge from the forum members. Newbies or legendary everyone has same rules so don't put yourself under pressure which may deviate you from what you are supposed to be.

Merit is always a motivator in the forum. But don't focus on the merit acquisition but focus on the learning of bitcoin and it wallets. If you take merit more important than learning bitcoin in the forum then you will miss out many things in the forum. It is through you knowledge in BTC that the required Merits you need will come to you. So all what you have to do right now the knowledge on bitcoin and if possible other Cryptocurrencies in the  ecosystem and blockchain.

Inactive motivation due to wrong Newbie assumptions on the merit system applied in the forum. actually the merit system doesn't kill or make Newbie motivation go out, in my opinion it's quite the opposite. The merit system is not moderated directly in the forum, anyone can give merit to posts that are considered qualified and constructive.
Your understanding of the forum is starting to increase, what you wrote above indicates that you have clear goals in the forum. Keep trying and developing your potential to become an established member with the insights you have during the forum.

We have all been there. There is joy, excitement, and a motivation to create high-quality posts in order to earn more merits. I remember receiving my first merit, and it felt like a boost to my self-esteem. Before that, I was a bitcoin beginner and would often just listen during conversations about bitcoin, feeling intimidated. The merit I received boosted my confidence in my understanding of bitcoin and motivated me to read more. Now, I may not be an expert yet, but I can make valuable contributions to bitcoin discussions.

As a beginner gaining your first merit is really a motivation. I could still remember the feeling when I got my very first merit, I was really stirred up that I could do it, that I need to be active and be making valuable contribution on the forum and look where am I today. You need to read up and be making quality posts and sometimes the merit might not come but you don't have to allow it bother you, you just have to continue making quality contributions by your comments and topics created and soon people will start rewarding you for your effort.

I mean merits are like commending some members so it supposes to motivate other members like newbies for sure, we give merits to posters that make a constructive and informative posts here in the forum so that they will continue to make more posts like it, this newbie will be the future of this forum so we need a lot of them to continue here in the forum, and giving them merits is one of the best ways that we could motivate them.

It's obviously not easy to be consistent to post in the forum, you need to give a lot of time on it, plus sharing your experience and knowledge is not that easy. Merits is a good system at the same time because reducing spammers and avoid members to rank up they just have a lot of posts on their accounts. It helps a lot in increasing the quality of posts of the users here in the forum.

The OP received the first merit for that reply.

always work hard, don't forget to continue to improve the quality of your posts, as a beginner I'm doing that right now.
be consistent and not spam so that your btt account name will be lifted up, don't forget to be patient too, because sometimes we have tried our best but haven't gotten what we want, so with that stay patient if one day this comes to you.

Newbies - Stop teaching when you need to learn. The advice makes sense for OP case in the past, before that post and the first earned merit about 2 weeks later.

If you rejoice at getting quick pizza baking merit, then you can conclude that various contests will be motivational topics for you.
For everyone present here, the moment of increasing the rank is interesting since such a tradition has been established here, but choosing exclusively topics for distributions is not a good habit. So try to ignore merit and not expect great recognition from each theme you create. You'll be surprised how much merit will add up once you start being sincere on the forum without expecting any personal gain.

Absolutely! I completely understand your perspective. Gaining merits may seem insignificant to experienced forum members, but for beginners like us, it revitalizes our motivation. However, motivation alone is insufficient; we must actively enhance our knowledge through diligent reading and continuous learning. It's reassuring to know that other beginners share this sentiment too.

I completely agree with you! Gaining merits is crucial for beginners as it revitalizes their motivation. However, motivation alone isn't sufficient; it must be complemented by expanding knowledge through diligent reading and other means. Rest assured, many beginners share this sentiment of finding pleasure in their journey. Let's keep pushing forward and supporting each other on this exciting path!

I will motivate you for the first time, but I would advise you not to write the same thing on every topic. I hope you are a little happier today. Grin

So challenging to get those evasive merits and it can really boost our moral especially when someone appreciate our post then they give merits. It can inspire us to do more better since this could motivate us to get more then rank up.

Other beginners might not feel the same way since other really think that its hard for them to get that then maybe they are just wasting their time for just like this. If they just realize that its so good to get on placed where you work hard for it for sure all the efforts they made to get those merits is really a huge achievements for them.

Even on high ranks we still get a joyful feeling when we received merits. It does means that we are beinf helpful or someone must have like the response or topic that being shared. Receiving merits are one of the best feeling when you are here in forum and I understand what you means since you have a goal to rank by means of merits. It will eventually come anyway, just be motivated always and do your best to contribute in this forum.

That's right, even though I'm at the top rank, I'm still happy when I get more merit. Maybe the feel will be differents with members who are trying to reach the rank of Junior member to Legendary. However, when there is additional merit i get from the posts I made, i'm still happy with that. So, basically, for some member, merit is more than just to rank up. But to show to other member who they are. Well, the character will be different for those who have merit, the most important thing is that we can continue to learn to contribute, that is the main goal in this forum.

Since we are going to be in this forum for a longer time, we don't need to force it or rush things when we want merits. Merit is a big motivation and that alone can inspire the way we write and do things. I can see that op just some few merits and he has not been in the forum for a very longer time so he can still stay calm and continue building his account to a level where merit sources will find his post interesting and give him merits. He has to make good posts so to get merits so he will able to rank up with time. He also has work on his writing ability and the use it full stop to increase post quality.

Everyone feels the same as like you and when it was my starting I thought that Higher Rankers gets more merits but the reality is that they are mostly active and we'll educated about the crypto. And the most important thing is about their contribution in this forum.
Anyway if you are on the right path you can also grow your rank very fast. The right path means contributing in this forum, Making unique posts, helping others and sharing resources.
Always believe on yourself and spend times in the forum and always learn from others then spread our learning so that you can make more quality posts and boost our motivation.

Don't get it wrong, merits shouldn't be your motivation to being active on the forum, i bet it's not because of merits you're joining the bitcoin community, you're expected to engage on discussions either you get merits or not as long as you wish to stay, there are many high ranks members always active and barely gets merits even when they post, the taughts in your post is what gives the reader the conviction that it's merit deserving.

But still I also realize that just motivation is not enough. but also must be accompanied by an increase in insight. with more diligent reading and so on.

How do you cope if you don't receive merits for long, will there still be motivation at all, also know that the higher you go in rank the more the requirements from you increases in other for you to have better opportunities through the quality of what you offer to the forum.

If your goal in posting here is to get paid contributions, merit will be an incentive for you, but it is a temporary incentive, so soon you will see that you will make these posts quickly to be paid, and so on.
Always try to search for topics that you do not know anything about and learn from them, as this makes you able to open any topic in the forum and you will have a minimum understanding of it, if not active participation in it.

Otherwise your posts will be within the limits of Bitcoin Discussion, Economics, Altcoin Discussion as it is hard to see with all those posts and therefore less likely to get merits.

I think merit is really motivating most of users in this forum, when you're still a newbie, you might think getting one merit is really big. But after you have reach at least Senior Member rank which is need 250 merits, you would be think the first merit you get is more valuable than the other 249 merits.

Absolutely! I completely understand your perspective. Gaining merits may seem insignificant to experienced forum members, but for beginners like us, it revitalizes our motivation.
Dude, you have not yet received any single merit, how you can know the feel after getting merit from someone? it doesn't make sense. When I was a newbie and not get any single merit, I can't expect merit is really motivating me to keep posting and increase my quality.

I actually understand how you feel; I have also been there before. I was among those who created their account and abandoned it because of the fear of what to post and how to do the right thing here in this forum. Until when I took a bold step after 3-4 from when my account was created I dropped my first post and comment asking questions and dropping some few contribution under some post, immediately I earned my merit which was during October 2022, I became motivated and was no longer afraid of posting, like I was before. Those merits show me that people are okay with what I said; my idea or my question was reasonable, which made me start posting, and by doing that, I was also open to learning more.

Even as a high-ranking member's earned merit is to some point still motivational, it makes one put more effort into doing what he or she did that earned them those merits.

Everyone likes it when their efforts are appreciated. and also for all users in this forum. So it's not even a matter of low rank or high rank. But I think everyone will feel the same way. It's just to a different degree. And maybe it's true that for beginners getting Merit can foster higher motivation and enthusiasm. Because I've ever been in that position. when I first joined this forum. But what's more important is to focus on our goals on adding insight and believe me the quality of your posts will increase by itself and getting Merit will be more enjoyable. And the most difficult thing to maintain is our level of consistency in maintaining quality. because sometimes the influence of problems from real life can also affect our mood here.

I’m not so old in the forum that I can’t remember what it was like to have my first merit, that 1 merit was enough motivation to make me do more. Reaching a total of 100 merits to become full member is the most gratifying feeling one can get in the forum because merits seem to be a hard task for newbies. As you increase your ranks and become more active in the community, you become less excited about merits and ranks.

Ranking up is a motivation and for me it is still a motivation. Getting some rewards can indeed add enthusiasm to keep trying to give the best because everyone will not keep sMerit in their pocket when they find something unique and useful from someone else.
Some time ago, my sMerit was empty because I principally kept sMerit not good. But right now my sMerit is filled with as many as 4 that I can take out. Maybe I'll put one out for you after this post.

Here you know what you have to do to get people to send you some merit.
Don't force yourself to get it, but focus on the useful things you need to do so that people see you as unique with your own character.

I see from the 55 posts you have made, you already have 11 merits which means you can issue 5 merits to other people who you think are worthy of giving. Don't let sMerit settle down because by distributing sMerit, we are already running the merit system as expected.
