It is never easy to quit gambling due to human greed, when we win, we just want to win more and more, the only way to stop is only when you bust all your coins.

That's not true, quitting is not that hard...Even if you are greedy, you just need to experience a extreme loss that could make you think or have a second thought on your gambling habit... I just noticed, those who don't have obligation in life are the one's always get addicted to gambling, and sometimes those who has a problem...  Smiley

Of course it's hard otherwise the books wouldn't be feasting on us right now, pretty hard to leave gambling and I tried few times but always want to come back and make some profit, I think the gamblinganonymous sites are quite helpful though.

In fact, anythings that you so often do that it has become a habit will be very hard to change. Your body muscle will constantly remind you of it and your brain will think of it. Even if you find some activity to distract yourself from it, you will naturally still think of it.

Yeah, it's something we do or have ever done will certainly always stored in memory. But if we had enough to do that and wanted to get away from the thing it should do is refrain that we don't think to do this and also we have to stay focused on what can make forget against such activities

It is actually very easy with the right perspective.

You have to make a firm decision, and stick with it, and you're mostly there already.
Write it down on a note you hang on the wall. Something like 'Today (x/y/20xx) I quit gambling'.

Stop thinking 'I want to gamble' or 'gambling would be fun right now' and control your mind to instead think about all the bad things you've had from gambling. Soon enough, your brain will think gambling is bad an will want to stay away from it.

Just think about all the money you have wasted gambling over the years. Imagine having all that money! Well, the future can be like that if you stop gambling right now. And the cost is as low as a little persistence and patience!

You have to understand that once an action become a habit, it is very hard to quit. That is why a lot of families are difficult to live together under one root cause the elderly already have a lot of habits that is very hard to change to suit one another. Similarly, if you are so addicted to gambling, by doing all these would not work much as your brain will keep thinking about gambling.

Yes. we all know that gambling is hard to give up. Because more of us love gambling for stress reliever, for fun and for past time but it can be manage to give up more likely if you are being addicted to it to the fact that you will risk to bet all of your assets, investment just to win? That is not good. You should focus on other things and onto your family. They are more important than gambling.

Hi guys and girls! After making quite a lot of money then losing it and crying about not hapfmthe afternoon I have decided to give up gambling for good.  Its not for me in have a much too addictive personality. So now I just plan to work for casinos but not gamble.

The thing is you know you should cash out but you always want just that little bit more and then u lose the whole lot. I'm stupid and greedy. Right after I lost i put more in and doubled it then I went all in and lost it. So yes u can make a killing gambling with such a small about like a few dollars but then u lose all u make and waste a lot of time and energy and end up getting upset. Also i shake like mad when I gamble and I hate that. I tremble. When I lose I can't believe what the screen is telling me.

So any thoughts ? Ways to stop ? Ways to gamble with play money ? Maybe there are dust ga!going casinoes I can use? U know just for fun and for the fix. Smiley

Nobody said that it is easy, it is very hard. Same as to stop smoking after long time.

If you want to stop gambling, you shouldn't play ANYWHERE, not even for fake money like for fun, as you will want to gamble with real money then. stay away from all casinos. And try to don't think about gambling at all.

I must agree that it is not easy because even if you quit for a while there is a possibility of still going back because some offers maybe tempting even on this forum. However, if you want to quit Dont think it will just stop once but take it slow and gradual and I'm sure the interest will leave... My opinion though...

good decision dude you shouldn't do gamble if you afraid to lose
because if we know about gambling so we must ready to win or lose
biggest mistake is you too greedy better small profits than lose
good luck for you next time

There is simple rule for gambling if we are not ready to lose than it's biggest mistake to get started, and we have to play with some limits because that is very big problem when play like greedy and want to get rich with gambling in a day, that is great decision to give up gambling after losing some amount.
From many gamblers experience in gambling, I too feel quitting must be a very big lifetime decision for the sake of good health for the rest of the life for the gambler. But keeping on gambling with the blind belief makes most of the gambler to suffer further even at some point they realize the dangers of gambling. As I have watched many gamblers, giving up gambling after few losses is not possible for them.

and yes its not easy to quit gambling but making will power strong and avaoid it in the start then it will be become much easier.

That's too dramatic... If you want to quit, you can just quit and don't look for gambling sites that offers free betting money, that won't help you, that would just push you in to the gambling world...

You said that you are trembling and what ever, then that's a sign that you can still feel your self, that means you are not yet an addict, just need a strong will and a breath of fresh air outside...  Smiley
willingness to move out is on OP's decision quitting gambling is not that hard you just need to keep yourself busy in other things
or spare more time to your love ones and stay away from the site or from the place that you might encounter gambling again.
It all really depends on our willingness on how to quit gambling but  the situation is not  the same  to others because  some would have a hard time  to stop even if they are trying to completely wipe out gambling  in their life. You are right just make yourself busy into somethings that  dont have any connections with gambling and for sure  you would  forget those games.
The best way to start ignoring something and distancing yourself from said thing is to get a hobby and starting to do something completely different from whatever the original thing was. That can be basically anything, from woodworking as a hobby to going and playing tabletop games if that's something that interests you. Getting more involved with a job or getting another one, whatever it may be, is always better than just trying to ignore a previous addiction through sheer will.

If you are willing to  get away from gambling you could surely do it and  we have the will  or self control on any thing  or have an idea on what we must suppose to do  in order to get away from it. Same as he said make yourself busy with other things any work or hobbies that would  distract your  attention on playing again gambling games.

I dont think that any thing is impossible to do, until you dont make your mind fully prepared to do what you want no other can help you, not only gambling but other bad habits are also not easy to give up until the gambler itself dont want to leave it. So i think first the gambler have to take the first step and then only other can help him to get rid of gambling bad habit.
Exactly I agree on this. First, the gambler wants to fix his mind. Then only he can give up gambling easily, and other people may help him. If the gambler has fickle mind, then it is not possible to give up. So anything is possible but for that, we have to do hard work and also have control over our emotions. If you control your emotions then giving up is easy.
However they need help. It is impossible to overcome something like this without help.

The first step is, of course, to recognize the problem. However you need help beyond that.

Thats people who's ill with this should go to the people who can understand them  so they can get moral advice and maybe it can give them relief and inspiration to give a try on stopping their gambling tantrums. But it is upon on addicted gambler if they want to cooperate since if they just let the advice passes by to their ears and dont do counter measure for themselves well theirs no really good happening to them and their desired to gamble would provably back.
