Anyone else has the courage to go all in on Hillary? By all in I mean betting ALL of your bitcoins for a win.

There's some people that's doing this. They are literally going bet all of their bitcoins because they are convinced the election is rigged and Trump cannot win, why not go all in then? Maybe this is a rare opportunity to make a lot of money. Im thinking about it but I don't think I have the balls.

You were right, it was rigged, but not to your side (hillary) lolz  Cheesy

The establishment tried to rig in Hillary's favour at the beginning I think, but once the voting counting started, they realized a lot of people voted Trump, way too many than they predicted initially, this made any further rigging impossible due the fact that it would be too obvious and it would be lethal for the system if ushc an obvious rigging gets unmasked.

Maybe this is a new strategy for gambling with political related stuff: Go against all odds. It will be interesting to see if Le Pen wins in France, it will be another scenario similar to brexit and Trump, but then again maybe the odds start being positive towards those so called anti establishment options.

Well although i also thought it would be a hillary landslide win, i don't think the election was actually rigged. I have to give it to trump although i think clinton has more votes than trump. It's the election process that did her. And i think also that is the risk when you gamble. Most of us would wager everything on a clinton victory as almost all polls point to it, then we're given an entirely different result

But only with a small amount, 0.02 BTC

Wish I was brave and put more on this bet

I thought about going all in on hillary. Boy that would have been a huge mistake. It seemed like it was a sure thing up until election night.
Hillary won! She won on the popular votes with estimated 64 million plus  votes compared to Trump of 61 millions plus votes. But Hillary lost in election where they are elected by electoral college body. Smiley

Yeah she was beaten by the system and i also almost made the same mistake there. Who would've thought trump would win considering all the polls. For sure a lot of people lost considerable amounts of money in the past election though.
I think gambling sites are more benefited on trump wins. The public is pounding hard the Hillary bet as they think it's a no-brainer bet and Hillary will win by land slide. I guess the gambling site are celebrating now more than the people who fade the public.

I guess this thread should be locked already as the US election was already done.

Together with this thread : https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/betting-on-us-elections-1674321
I agree with you  its better to  lock this  thread so that  no  more  post  would  continue  regarding with this  topic hence   elections  is already done and we  know   already the results. There are winners and  lossers  on  betting  between the  two  presidential candidates, Better  luck next time for those  who  vote all in  on Clinton.

I bet against someone that Trump would win.

My only educated knowledge about the whole US election was that Trump had the support of the NRA and a few million Americans who prefer to keep their Second Amendment rights to individually keep and bear arms. Shall not be infringed.

I am not American, but we, in the Philippines, love our guns (and knives, and sticks). From my cold dead hands.

I "won" a couple thousand dollars ... no biggie. Didn't realize there were "Sports Betting" sites that had this, although I would have made a guess. In other news, I would have bet on Pacquiao (this is a boxing sports bet) ... but I'm not too much into sports betting.

Oooh, I put this on my to do. Already looked through the betting sites, comparing odds. Been meaning to place a bet but kept putting it off. Later, wait, wait. Urgh.
Next thing I know, I see on the news that Pacquaio has won. Totally slipped my mind. Tsk.

I'm really glad for those of you who had the guts to bet on Trump.
I myself was going for Hillary, decided against it, couldn't do a whole 360 and bet on Trump, so,
there goes. I guess sports betting's just isn't for me.  Sad  Tongue

It's good that you don't have the balls for it seeing how things went.  Cheesy

The more interesting question is did the sportsbooks lose money on this and if so, then how much?  There were 5 to 1 lines offered for Trump at one point.  I wish I made a bet for it but the stinginess in me is always waiting for better lines.  If maybe the line was Trump for the win at 10.00 then I would sure take that chance.

It's really a frustrating result not only for Hillary but also for me.. it's a real shock how things went over in this election. But still being thankful because I didn't put all my money to bet for hillary.
I’m not a US citizen or anything but to me it was very obvious Trump was going to win I was in fact surprised that the analyst were surprised by it, after all Trump was in the ballot he had a chance and now he will be the US president.

I just feel very lucky for not making that bet, still thought that there was a good chance of Clinton winning and had thought about making a rather big bet.

Thank god I didn't though, I'll just stick to dice and roulette Smiley
Same here I was also very confident about Clinton and thinking to bet some big amount but at the end I decided against this now very happy I saved my money but I was not expecting result like this

I know that talking after the elections are done it's easy, and although I ended not making any bets on the elections, I thought about betting on Trump. Not because I like him, but if you saw the polls they were very close, and the odds were not @2, so they were against the polls, so I think in a long run scenario it would be better to bet on Trump, since the polls were saying it should be close to a coin flip toss. So betting on the option above 2, was probably the best option, and you actually had them @4, so there was some value here I guess.

Poor OP. I think it was quite a surprize for lot's of us, so I understand him. That's why we should remember that due to american system of election the one who got less votes can win and that betting is a bad thing even when you feel like it is safe and there is a high probability for you to win. Undecided
-sigh

I guess you missed the post above you??  Grin
Oh, or maybe just didn't realize the quoted one was the OP?   Grin Tongue
Op didn't end up putting any bets on the election at all.

But if you're really interested, there are lots of others who have posted and
shared their loss. You could try reading back a page or two.  Shocked Shocked  Cool
-sigh.

Hi guys, just in case someone is interested... im one of the guys that finally ended up not betting any money in the US Elections. I was almost ready to drop a couple BTC (a lot for more, I don't have many) just in hopes of getting less than 1 BTC in return since the odds were shit...

Good news: I didn't, I just watched the show from the sidelines. I feel bad for some guys that bet a lot of money. There is a guy that lost like 30k in a hillary win bet. Some other big gambles were as big as $500.000... a lot of people lost a lot of money last night.
Haha. I knew it. Good thing you didn't end up betting after all. lol.

I was also thinking of betting on Hillary, which was why checked out this thread, but then I saw this:
Idiot?
Here i found it for you:

It seems you got your brain washed by the hollywood stars. I don't actually care about your future loss but since you are a member of this forum, i feel responsible for educating you.

Good luck.

I ended up watching, link after link of Hillary dirt on youtube. lol. Good thing I saw all that or I'd be in a daze for weeks.  Grin
