Keep in mind the upcoming block reward halving event was well. Despite being in existence for over 6 years, even now the exchange rate of Ethereum is heavily linked to that of Bitcoin. So if Bitcoin gets a big boost as a result of the halving event, then we can expect a similar spike with Ethereum as well. That said, I am not having a good feeling about the halving this time. The market looks dull now.
If you plan to hold for long term then it's good time to buy ethereum but for short term I guess you need wait to go down then buy at cheap price. I prefer to buy now and hold for long.
