Google recently updated their policies regarding Google Ads and will now allow ads related to cryptocurrency exchanges and wallets provided they have registered with FinCEN. This change is set to take effect in August 2021. As you may recall, the ban was imposed in March 2018 and lasted almost three years.

This easing of crypto advertising restrictions is a positive sign. Google appears to be warming up to bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general as many governments, financial institutions and private companies are increasingly liberalizing their crypto policies these days. What do you think?

Is there a ban? Since i think the ban is just an announcement purposes, ive seen alot of text ads in google search results showing different exchange and crypto related platform including the fake one or phishing clone website.

That's really a great news. Google has one in the website that is good with advertisement and many people are using google services which of course will be exposed to the advertisement of cryptocurrency. This could be a good sign that the big companies are now considering cryptocurrency and lets hope that soon all of them would be able to accept cryptocurrency as a mode of payment.

Looks fair because they are accepting advertisement of business that are registered with FinCEN and in the future they might be liberal regarding this once major countries will come out with their regulation. Google was forced to ban these advertisements because major scams were advertising through their platform which raised billions of dollars and they cannot let a wild market of scammers thrive with more visibility.

I couldn't care less about such news.Companies like Google can update their policies an infinite amount of times. They can allow advertising of cryptocurrency companies in August and ban crypto advertising in September. The US government might force Google to ban crypto ads at any time.
It looks like Google wants more advertising revenue. Is Google having financial difficulties because of the pandemic? That would be a pretty interesting topic.

It was just a matter of time and they now understand that staying out of cryptocurrency is not the best option for them too in terms of Business. Whilst many other platforms may have been generating profits from allowing crypto ads, Google has finally realized that and going back on its stands. This is what happens when people/institutions don't think things through before taking action because some didn't accept it before.
It is a good move in the right direction for both.

Google and Facebook are the two who banned crypto ads in 2017 but a year ago I already saw crypto ICO ads on facebook. This will still be auto, they don't manually check whether the advertisers are scams or not. They don't care about it as long as they get money out of it, there was even a DIEM ad on facebook itself but was a scam.

I can even see crypto exchange, wallet advertisements on the YouTube so how these ads passed the Google requirements and keep playing on most of the videos related to cryptocurrencies and investment.

Google should never promote a project because thise projects created with purpose of money making.

The ad platform is solely made for the purpose of making money. They build it and collect data from users to target them with ads that fit the demographics of the users interest.

People were in a really big danger before Google banned these advertisements. Because swindlers were trying to trick people and steal their money. Google has lifted the ban and there are new rules right now. Thanks to these rules, there will be a safer environment from now on.
Hopefully that will be the case for this one because scammers are going to find another way to scam people, remember that they can still use SEO to be on top of the Google search even without the ads so we still have to be proactively careful about this becaause we still don't have a definitive solution for this problem.

It's up to the person now to protect themselves on phishing websites. Even though the scam site is on top due to SEO, Person can be careful and check the website if it's the legit or not. Doing own research is the best way to avoid scammer since Google can't fully protect there user on every possible attack.

Google was never cold to bitcoin or cryptocurrency in first place as the ban had nothing to do with bitcoin. They basically put an end to the ICO scam that was running rampant during 2017, granted they were late to enforce the ban but better late than never. It wasn't just Google, a lot of other companies did the same during 2017 and 2018. Youtube is another one that comes to mind that made a lot of noise because the idiots who were pump and dumping shitcoins on Youtube by fooling newbies got their scam operation shut down.

Are you serious!! Just take a look at the "Scam Accusation" board and see how many topics have been created about google scam ads and you'll realize that the ban didn't change any thing. In fact, it made things worse. However, lifting the ban may slow down scammers as legit services are definitely going to pay higher rates per impression/click and it will be hard for scammers to compete with them.
Though, I don't think this news will have a major effect on the market as there aren't many exchanges and wallets that can meet the requirements they set.

Well, does it make sense to resist the development of cryptocurrency ?) They probably want to invest some part of their money in bitcoin for the long term. And advertising probably restrained only until the age of 2020, when there was a boom

Anything that do allow and lifting out those bans or prohibitions would always be a good sign that there are such changes in terms of views and perception or impression by a certain company.

We know on how big Google is and this is really a great thing that they are allowing crypto investment but hopefully they can filter it out because for sure
there would be some abuses like promoting scam sites and services to be floating around.

It does have its con's but majority would really talking or seeing about its positive impacts.

It is a positive sign. But I hope that they're going to filter and remove first those scam advertisements that have been approved by them. Not only on google but also in Youtube.
There are too many of them that they cannot check each of them but hopefully that there's a mass removal of it.

I think this is a great signal for the market and the world community in general. When all these stupid restrictions are removed, the world will start looking at this topic in a new way. I think that by the end of the year, bitcoin will finally be freed from information shackles where possible. Apart from countries such as China, because it is clear that they have already decided everything at the state level and they do not need a competitor to their digital yuan.
I hope so, sometimes they will be lifted but later on, they back putting restrictions on it.
I guess also this has an effect on the market price and it will I guess a good signal that we are on the bullish track.

I smell a great adoption in the future on here, since we know that many institutional investors that already adopted bitcoin and in crypto and I guess Google company has been realized that instead of putting a restriction, why not they don't adopt on it and lift the restriction.

We know how Google doesn't care about users by most of its ads has a fraud, hopefully, scam activity in crypto will not increase using Google.

It's good that they limited the advertisements to registered exchanges and not some random service that popped up related to cryptocurrencies. That was what Google was trying to avoid back then, considering the steep rise on crypto hacks, scams, and any such nefarious activities related to or concerning crypto services. It's easy to promote scam services on Google ads, and a much more easier route if you used cryptocurrencies, too. Good thing Google knows how to limit which crypto services can use their ad service.

Their move is just right, only those registered at FinCEN. In that manner, these scam sites will not be seen by naive users. But of course, even if those sites are registered, users should still do their homework of knowing the site first before sending any penny to them. As crypto adoption is getting stronger, it is high time that they accept its existence and people should know those legally registered sites. Google can't stop them from operating so yes, better return their ads but this time, with limitations.

This is a good move from Google, and once the market experienced a downfall due to the ban on cryptocurrency related ads. However further the impact isn't that big and quite often used to see ads related to cryptocurrency.

Google used to provide suggestions related to cryptocurrencies based on what we've searched. When google banned cryptocurrency ads, it was much into discussion. Later it gave a response, more fake ads were misleading People towards scams and that's the reason it is banning cryptocurrency related ads.
