The popularity is because of media or the government making people aware of BTC by announcing BTC is not legalized or its going to be banned? Gold is so old school. Bitcoin is consider the “in” thing to many people who haven’t hear of it. So it is common for bitcoin to lead in the Google search results. It is a good news to know more people are interested in Bitcoin.

I will not just relate the google trends with real demand for bitcoin, many people still don't know much about bitcoin and they are hearing its name in all over internet and media sites which is focused on enormous growth bitcoin had this year etc. They might be just searching for bitcoin to get educated and still many of them will not invest anything in bitcoin because many of them might think this is too good to be true.

Maybe because bitcoin is more complicated than gold. There is lesser to understand in gold while a tons of technicalities and terminologies are needed to understand to really grasp what bitcoin is.

maybe this is true because people want to search a new way to make money and if he types how to make money then I think bitcoin will on the page first so people can see that bitcoin is the top suggestion to them. I think if many people will do this, then bitcoin will be adopted by many people from many countries and soon the spreading of bitcoin will be larger than before and bitcoin will become more famous in the future.
