as i now Equihash has an mechanism to block asics miner....
so i cant imagine that they will stop mining on this type of crypto
 Huh Huh Huh

I see day by day, ASICS of many coins are launching, individually or multiple. Chinese companies are trying to kill the GPU mining market once again cause they are greedy, just like they did to Bitcoin and Litecoin. GPU Mining died in 2013 and was resurrected in 2015 with the Cryptocoins Generation 2.0, although many of you miners just started mining on 2016 due to huge pumps on those 2.0 cryptocoins.

As Cryptocoins got more popular than in 2011 - 2013. The new generation of Cryptocoins 2015 and afterwards are endangered by ASICS once again, and 2018 looks to be the year of per the title "GPU mining will die in 2018!".

Keep in mind that there are possible ASICS for ethash already for Q1, and even if ETH goes POS, ETC and other ethash coins will be only ASICS and if that happens only Equihash coins will be minable for a time and I have a word that there is already an ASIC in development for Equihash already and will start delivering in Q4 2018. As GPU mining keep gets scarce, other popular coins will have pumps and so ASICS will be born for them.

I want to know your thoughts about it and I wonder the limits of --> "where, there is money to be made, there is greedy"

Keep in mind that this price crashing we are seeing is due also to the fear of ASICS for most GPU mining coins.

I believe gpu mining will not die in the near future. not only there will  be new mineable coins in the future, but there are also many up-and-coming projects that will offer new ways of earning compensation for gpu computation.

i sure hope gpu mining doesn't die as I have invested too much $$ in it and have not earned back enough to cover that cost.

Getting involved in crypto is a big risk in general. You have to acknowledge that to yourself!

Similarly any old hardware will be replaced with new hardware. Older GPUs will be replaced with more efficient GPUs like previous gen 480/580 replaces the R390/390X. The cycle repeats and mining continues. More coins to be mined and more people are getting into mining. Keep mining with GPU and mining goes on.

Extra Extra!
Read all about it!
GPU mining will die in 2018!

You sound like something out of the Daily Mail or a Victorian Newspaper seller.

ASICS come and stay of course, but GPU mining won't die.

Keep the topics researched rather than wild and slanderous.

Hey i read somewhere that samsung will relase ASIC for all algos is that true ? O_o

At least it will not release ASIC for monero mining as Monero will change PoW algorithm every 6 months.

On the other hand mining with mobile phones is still unused. We didn't have a chance to try it.
I think that people will mine coins in the next 5 years.
who will experiment and try to use the mobile phone to mining with the risk of damaging the mobile phone?

GPUs that have RAM, Processor, and fan alone can be at risk of damage when used mining because mining takes out heat let alone a mobile phone that has no fan.

You can always adapt the blockchain to be friendly to phones. Think out of the box.
It is possible.

Equihash is very hard to build asics for due to the increase in memory requirements

but i dont think gpu mining will die, there are so many algorithms out there  , there should always be something to mine even when Eth ends

That's what I think! Even though Asic is much stronger than GPU, there should be coins for GPU I guess.

I think GPU minin will never die there are so many Coins with a ASIC resistence code and if it is not there come other coins that are worth to mine with GPU.

ethereum is a fork of ethereum classic.

Just ordered a gtx1070 for $850.  Grin. It is usually the best time to start mining when everybody's complaining. Soon we'll see a huge price pump and mining will be profitable again.

The news coming from bitmain is no good though. I heard Amd cards are soon to be worthless.

wow. i ordered a 3 zotac amp extremes 1080tis for 829 each on amazon yesterday

...

you just cucked yourself

I know but had no choice, that's how it is in where i live.

i like your profile picture. i just noticed it and laughed. i dumped bcash like a 10lb $hit

Also the card i bought is also $840 on amazon.

Anyway it was already very frustrating to find a card. So i'll be happy if they even send it to me. They can still say "sorry there was a mistake, the item is out of stock"

Please, I would like any troll to enlighten other trolls as possible replacement trollcoins for gpu mining if ethash and equihash are done for other than cryptonight. As I get info before every body else about this, I can assure you there is no cryptonight asics within the roadmap for now. So what are your thoughts about as per the title "GPU mining will die in 2018!".

i think rx 48x, rx 58x or nvdia 1080 will dying after next gen gpu released, but now and then literally gpu mining will not even close to hell

Zzzzzzzzz. OP was banging the same drum, and eagerly awaiting mass miner suicides, in 2013 / 2014 when I bought a bunch of HD7950s. They've paid for themselves many times over, and are still very profitable on CryptoNote coins.

One of these years he'll be right. Or not.

Agreed.  I'm just not sure what the root cause of his insanity is.  He doesn't exactly say, but I feel that he has lost a lot of money in crypto.  Or at least lost potential gains when opportunity was knocking ... Much like Richard Hart ... Love Richard Hart, but he is damaged right now.  And he realizes it.  Richard is a public person, Metroid is not.  So I'm worried about Metroid.  I just don't want him to end up hanging or shooting himself over something that will all be ok in the end.

There are so many things in life that are way more rewarding than money.

Only one of my rigs currently mines equihash, one mines cryptonight.  The other three mine coins on other algo's ... I haven't mined ethash in the past three months ... It's already pretty much dogshit compared to other shit coins.  Bring on the ASIC's!  I'll be in line and ready for the first batch of ethash and equihash ASIC's from whoever it may be ... I'd much rather buy from Samsung than Bitmain, but we'll see what happens.

GPU Mining will not die in 2018, most likely not in 2019 either - Enjoy.
