What a dramatic match Olympiakos had against Fiorentina! If it wasn't for Olympiakos' goslie's miraculous saves and amazing reactions the things today would have been very different.

Now in all of Greece people are out in the streets partying like crazy. It'd the first time s Greek team wins a European title. This is beyond amazing. Throughout the match Olympiakos had a very good play styke and pushed Fiorentina to make many fouls and mistakes. Arguably Fiorentina had better defense but in the end what matters is that Olympiakos gets the cup.  Grin

~snip~
It was truly beautiful day for Olympiakos and it made history to record that one of the Greek teams had managed to win title in European competition, and all this was also thanks to the only goal scored by El Kaabi in the 116th minute.
Match was quite fierce from the start and until the second half finished they really maintained the result 0 - 0 until in the end Olympiakos was able to get the lead.
In the Greek League, Olympiakos did not perform very satisfactorily but unexpectedly they were able to give big surprise to all Greeks by winning the European Conference League title for the 2023/24 season.
Congratulations to Olympiakos for this great achievement and of course the first success in European competition as no other Greek team has been able to achieve.

If we have any Fiorentina fans here, good match but maybe better luck next year. There was no match for Olympiakos this time. I am not an Olympiakos fan normally but today I am because they make my country proud  Cool

What a way to end the football season too! Amazing.
It was indeed, and it happened in the last moments of the match, during the extra time at 116'. Both teams' performances were great, and it was an amazing match. Not a fan of Olympiakos either, but it's an honor for a Greek team to hold a European title, especially since it's the first time for a Greek team to hold such a title. There's already a discussion going on in the official Italian thread; if you want to take a look at it, plenty of users are already discussing yesterday's match.

Seems like in spite of lackluster performance in the super league Panathinaikos was still able to win this year's Greek cup.
Now the final match for a Greek team this season will be the Conference league final happening in Athens. We're only a few days away from it but already there has been quite a scandal around it...

It seems like the cronies of the Greek football federation managed to make a sneaky decision and reserve a very large number of the seats for supposed VIP persons. Already though many of these tickets have found their way to the black market. So not only way there an attempt to bribe their favorite politicians, they are also hurting the revenue of the teams that have earned their spot in this final. Absurd. But what can you do, the teams are focusing on training now and there's not much to do in terms of protest. Hopefully later at least there can be a decision to prevent such stupid federation actions in the future.
Unfortunately, I hadn't read the previous reply, had no clue about the Panathinaikos vs. Aris final match for the Greek Cup, and missed the match. It's a shame, because it probably was a decent earning opportunity as well. At least I watched the basketball finals, Panathinaikos vs. Real Madrid, making it their 7th Euroleague after 13 years. What an achievement! What do you think about tomorrow's match of Olympiakos vs. Fiorentina? I don't know what to expect and I'll probably remain neutral for now.

Perhaps we could also use a Basketball Super league thread, if there's any interest. I'm not too fond of basketball, but I'll watch occasionally if given the chance.

What an adventurous turn of events. I am very proud for PAOK and their outstanding performance and really hope they will do well in representing Greece in Europe next season as the first in the league. Quite unfortunate for Panathinaikos and Olympiakos to finish lower in the league especially while seeing Olympiakos be at the final of UEFA's conference league right now. But really their performance in the local league was not ideal.

Thankfully for Panathinaikos the owners realized this and are calling for further 19 million EUR to be invested in the team. Hopefully this will give them a boost next season and sell see fewer mishsbs by them.

I am keeping this thread open still because we have two very important matches ahead of us for super league teams. One is the Greek cup final between ARIS and Panathinaikos on May 25 and the other is the Conference league final in Athens between Olympiakos and Fiorentina.

I'm surprised that no one has replied again after the final matches of the Super League. At this point, PAOK winning wasn't a surprise at all, scoring 2-1 in the final game against Aris, while AEK won against Lamia with a score of 3-1. To be honest, if you had asked me a few weeks ago, I wouldn't expect PAOK to win, but AEK, as they were in the first position with a relatively reasonable point difference compared with the other teams. However, PAOK managed to turn things around and win basically at the last minute in the last few games of the Super League.

I'm guessing this is going to be it for this thread, at least until the next Super League.
Greek Super League competition is not as popular as some other competitions and that is why not many football fans follow developments in this competition, not even many bettors are interested in following the Greek Super League matches.
In fact, I myself only follow the developments of the Greek Super League when the top team compete, apart from that I not that interested.

By the way, at the end of the competition, wasn't it very surprising, several matches looked very interesting in determining the leader of the standings and coming out as champion, now we can see everything clearly and big surprise was really shown at the end of this competition.
PAOK and AEK Athens both won their last matches and the difference in points is also very narrow, this is what is interesting in the competition for the top team this season.

PAOK winning was the result I expected. Because father and son Lucescu's are always superior to Terim. Panathinaikos will terminate Terim's contract, it wasn't clear why they brought him anyway. Terim, who wanted to escape the turmoil in Türkiye, fled to Greece in a hurry.
PAOK is now close to the championship. I'm sure they will beat Aris. They will finish the job in the last game. They well deserved this championship.
Well, Aris has a good team, but they're certainly not good enough to win against PAOK, and it can also be seen through their standings, as they have a difference of over 20 points. PAOK deserves to win the championship after such a performance, winning the latest matches and surpassing AEK in the Super League.

To be honest, if you were to ask me a few weeks ago, I wouldn't be expecting PAOK to win; I'd go for AEK due to their outstanding performance. However, PAOK managed to close the gap and reach the top, and judging by how things have progressed, they're going to win the championship.

Wow, I didn't expect PAOK to win with four goals against Panathinaikos. AEK has been dethroned from first place, and PAOK is now taking the lead, while the points difference has been significantly reduced between the teams. The last three matches are going to be tough ones, although I'm expecting AEK to win against Lamia and PAOK to win against Aris. I'm curious to see what's going to happen with Olympiakos and Panathinaikos, the two major rivals against each other.

Who do you think is going to win the Super League? I'll go with PAOK; share your speculations below and see who gets it correct.

Paok vs Aris and AEK vs Lamia for title fight!

Really deserved to mention that Paok and Aris are in a big rivalry and Aris will try anything they can in order to stop Paok to win the title but I do expect Paok to put together a great performance and actually win the game and the title.

On the other game , AEK really has a simple game against Lamia who has no business to fight for anything as their season kinda ended already but hopefully they will play football and not give the game to AEK with ease.

Basically if Paok makes a draw and AEK wins the game , AEK are champions and if Paok wins and AEK wins then PAOK are champions.  Cool

this is an interesting match between lamia vs paok but in terms of defense paok is more reliable even though the result is a draw 1-1 with so neither bet works but that doesn't matter considering there is still plenty of time for another betting session and in any case paok is four points behind with One match can be a very interesting match to watch in the Super League, so you can see which match will be the champion in the next match.

Tomorrow the most important match for Olympiakos and PAOK takes place. If PAOK wants a chance to compete in Europe it will highly depend on them getting a win here so they can secure a high spot in the league.

The following matches will be as follows and we're done with the super league for this season  Grin

AEK is currently first and the only way they could fall from the first spot is if they fail to win any of their upcoming matches. And one of these is with Lamia, which should not be that hard unless something goes very wrong.

The matchdays are slowly coming to an end. The last few days have been filled with competitive matches, not only from a gambler's perspective but from the perspective of the perspective of the spectator as well. Although this weekend's matches also involve smaller teams such as Asteras Tripolis, Volos, or OFI, the upcoming ones are derbies between the best teams in the Super League. I'm highly confident that AEK, which is still standing at the top with a difference of 4 points from PAOK and Panathinaikos, is going to win. I find it unlikely for any team to surpass them right now.

This weekend, teams such as Giannina, Volos, OFI, etc. are competing with each other. To be honest, I don't see anything worthy of betting at this point. Giannina vs. Volos, perhaps, or Panetolikos vs. OFI, could be two possible options. Tomorrow's match with PAOK against Olympiakos is crucial and might change the course of this Super League. Olympiakos won against PAOK on the 21st of April; we'll see how this one goes.

What an adventurous match that PAOK AEK was. PAOK still holds some hope for the first place while for the other teams it's going to be very hard to reach first place. AEK has one more game played than Olympiakos and PAOK but still AEK's last match for the season is against Lamia and would be considered very easy for them to win. Mayyybe if PAOK win all their 3 upcoming matches they have a chance. But winning against panathinaikos and Olympiakos who are their upcoming rivals will be no easy feat.

Well, the next matches now will be around mid may, so we can take a rest from betting. In the meantime Olympiakos will have a couple of matches for the semi finals of conference league, which I'm sure those interested in the Greek league would also like to watch.
That's true; there's still a slight chance for PAOK to reach the top. I also didn't expect them to win; it was a great match. I also wasn't expecting Aris to win against Panathinaikos; they had lost the last 4 or 5 matches, if I remember correctly, but it seems they made a comeback. OFI vs. Asteras Tripolis ended in a tie with a score of 1-1. I thought they'd win against Asteras, but nope, another bet lost. Anyway, the next matches are after Easter, so we'll take a much-needed break from betting and football altogether.

Very true, now AEK is leading with a 4 point difference and only 3 matches for them to go. The hopes other teams have for the first place have become slim. It was also surprising to see Olympiakos not winning against Aris. Congrats for Aris being able to put up such a fight but I just wonder, how's Olympiakos going to contest Aston Villa later in the conference league final four if they can't even get a win from Aris on the local league? Best of luck to Olympiakos because they'll need it hehe...

Well anyway, for the next matchday I think a reasonable bet would be the over 1.75 on PAOK vs AEK.

Looking over their head to head history, most of their matches had at least 2 goals scored, so I think the odds are also not that bad.

It's crazy that PAOK would get a draw against Lamia. They really shot themselves on the foot with this one, slashing their chances to earn the title this year to nearly 0.
That's true. I had higher expectations from both matches, but they fell short. It was really unexpected and quite frustrating, to be honest. Anyway, we're not going to give up on two lost bets; this weekend has a few decent opportunities. Olympiakos vs. Lamia is probably a guaranteed win, but I'm not expecting the best odds from them. Asteras Tripolis vs. OFI is another one I might opt for; it'd be kind of frustrating to lose this match as well, while PAOK vs. AEK and Panathinaikos vs. AEK are going to be interesting ones. I'm expecting AEK to win over PAOK and Panathinaikos to win against Aris, which is on a losing streak for the last 4 or 5 matches.

AEK got the most important victory they could ever get, with this game they just guaranteed their victory and title. If Panathiakos won, then we could have maybe seen some things change, and obviously the difference would be too tiny to call the season, there are still games left and it could have been different.

However, looking at the current situation, we could say that it would take a miracle to actually end up winning the title by any other team. AEK basically all but guaranteed the victory for the end of the season, and I do not see any other team being able to win enough to go beyond AEK and beat them along the way. Congratulations for them, they really played well and deserved the title without a doubt, a very dominant display.

What an absolute defeat! Both matches, Lamia vs. PAOK and Aris vs. Olympiakos, ended in a tie with a score of 1-1, while AEK won against Panathinakos with a score of 3-0. I was confident about AEK but wasn't expecting them to score three goals. So unfortunately, my two bets yielded no results, and I ended up losing a few bucks on what I considered relatively secure bets, but anyway, that's fine. There are no guarantees in gambling, and we shouldn't expect anything, even if it looks like a secure option. We'll see how it goes over the weekend.

How did you do? Any wins?
It's crazy that PAOK would get a draw against Lamia. They really shot themselves on the foot with this one, slashing their chances to earn the title this year to nearly 0.
