Nice to see that you started this thread after reading the hint of the proposed thread to discuss the Greek football league, this will be an exciting thread just like the premiere leagues thread that serves as a motivation for this but then we look forward to seeing the thread gaining much attention.
And in the weekend games, congratulations to the Panathinaikos in their narrow victory against the Pas Lamia by leading with 1:2 goals in the match and also as the top in the league's table haven't accumulated 22 points in 9 matches.
This season will indeed be an exciting one for the team, but they also have to keep the trends, otherwise, there could be a possible slide down, just like as seen in the weekend game even though are leading the second goal did not come easy and that points to having prepared other clubs also are to taking over the position.
Indeed Panathinaikos is doing well this season but one has to wonder how long that's gonna last. They only won against Olympiakos via some legalese reasons after a hooligun of Olympiakos threw a flair on a player and the match was halted.
Today However Olympiacos is so far losing against PAOK 3 to 0... It's crazy to see the #1 team of Greece for so many years perform this way. Truly it's a season of many upsets and the lesser known teams are putting in very good efforts. I think PAOK is bound to rise in the rankings though given how well they performed against Olympiakos.
I was reading about Panathinaikos and doing some research, I dont know much about Greek soccer
.
In 2023, they have slowed considerably, but they are still in the running for gold. The "clover" was in second place in the competition after 29 rounds, having lost to the first-place AEK in additional indications, while the third-place Olympiacos led by three points. Volos and "double-headed eagles" were the opponents in the first two "dry" world matches played by Ivan Jovanovich's side in the Champions group. The capital club then traveled to Thessaloniki, where it proved to be more formidable than Aris due to Andraj Sporar's lone precise shot in the 69th minute of play.
Dimitris Kourbelis and his associates don't seem as assured as they were in 2022. It will undoubtedly be impossible for the Athens to defeat the "union" if they keep losing points. In order for the Clover to win the 21st championship title in team history, it is crucial that they pick up steam once more.
Fun fact for me, they are known as "Greens"
