This happen for me when I lose my internet connection.  cgminer will continue working and may find a block but when my internet connection is back, Gridcoin will sync with the network and find the block I found was already found by someone earlier then me (when I was disconnected), so the block payment will disappear from my wallet.

It can also heppen if you find a block at the same time someone else, the fastest one to submit it win the reward.

This is valid for all coin mining, not just Gridcoin

Hello everyone,

I have just started mining Gridcoin with GPU and CPU also, today on the morning one of mine GPU found 1 block but I never got payed for it...I have found 3 blocks with other GPU that was payed but this one so far haven't...I have no idea what's the problem...

I have configured my gridcoin.conf to " poolmining=true " also and after I found those 3 blocks with that GPU I have no more payments in that wallet for being mining in pool...

Can someone explain me why is this?

Thanks.

The past few days the network hashrate has exploded. Once we got listed on coinmarketcap things changed very quickly.

I just did an interview with crypt.la and I think the interview went well; lots of good q&a there; will update when it is released.

I also spent 2 hours on the phone with Dogecoins PR rep; they may start a campaign for us in the future for mutual benefit; we'll see.

Congrats on the interview, we are going great.

About the association with Dogecoin - I think its a REALLY REALLY BAD idea.

Reason : Doge has always been a joke of a coin (albeit a monetarily successful one). I think  our coin on the other hand is a much much SERIOUS and USEFUL coin. As for publicity, we surely will be noticed, partly because we have made it to coinmarketcap and also because of the exchanges starting to accept us. I really don't like the idea of being associated with Doge. The only reason they are offering to help us is because they will get publicity out of it (and they ride on campaigns like this .. remember Jamaican team they sponsopred). Its more for their benefit than for ours. Let them be a joke, not us.

Right -- I hear you, this was not to associate Grid with Doge, or launch a campaign that looks like Doge efforts, it was an investor call that covered many different areas - saving the rain forests feeding the hungry etc and this rep was on the phone to try to make a deal to buy Gridcoin, launch PR on a certain news outlet, etc, he just happened to be the person who helped Doge with one campaign, really has nothing to do with Doge.  Its all up in the air.  Were talking about how a gridcoin foundation could have a department related to philanthropy.    Don't focus on it it's going to be a dynamic project.

They do have quite the promotional abilities (obviously) and I'm sure it would give gridcoin a boost short term, however, it may be detrimental long term if the masses sour on doge..

Very interesting news. Would love to read the crypt article!

I think, there is small problem because coin is not very popular... it's need use a lot of way for popularity
etc. a lot of people don't know what is BOINC...

But good luck with joining mining coins, with useful things, its have great potential!

I agree on the wallet skin, the colors are pretty bad. Once the new logo is picked the color scheme of the wallet should be changed to match it.

I am in!
Its support function for this coin ?
I am looking at github and here are 4 unsolved issues...

Imho windows wallet skin si terrible Cheesy

Great support is base for future success.
I guess I better weigh in on the vote for the coin colors then on cryptotalk.

I originally planned on adding a theming engine that let the user pick the color scheme.
But I do agree we should at least make it match the new coin colors at first, and maybe later we will still add theming so the user can choose.

But, I still like black/green since its easier on the eyes than black on white that every other coin uses.

Have a good one!

Good Job Coinptrader!

Voted!
note that coinpayments can be paid with BTC, LTC and DOGE

I have used these guys with other coins to purchase items - they are really a cool system - put your stuff in the basket and checkout - they then give you a large list of coins to pay with and email you an address to pay to.

Guys please don't forget to vote:

1. As Traderman said, this one is very important. If accepted everyone will be able to buy stuff and pay with GRC. Also the voting raises money for a good cause!

On each machine? Darn. I figured that as long as one machine was running the wallet and sending the beacons that the other machines could just be contributing work units that would show up on the BOINC site Smiley

The other machines do contribute the work and it will show up on the BOINC site, however I don't think you'll get GRC for the work they do on your main PC....I think that the work is limited per host, so you can't use other machines to rack up credits for the first one.

However I'm not 100% sure and you should probably ask Rob to confirm.

For CPU mining can I just have BOINC running on my other rig without gridcoin since it's just racking up BOINC work units that are reported on the BOINC site?

Hi Inrideo,

no, your wallet needs to be running so it will be able to send out the beacons(the small outgoing transactions) that verify your work done for BOINC in order to receive payments.
