Another thought, why would you use a sandbox? The Cube will not takeover your machine and create a model 101, series 800 terminator.

Is that stopping the Cube from communicating?

I've got the screen back now, i went into the router settings screen and found the devices ip.

it fails to open that page with any ip i try.

Have you ~ever~ seen that screen? If so, you may have changed where the Cube resides.

We get into Mac territory here and I don't know anything about it (thank god). Can you download a free ip scanner and scan your system?

You can find the Cube that way, and start over.

yeah i has the miner screen up and the proxy screen in sandbox was going
i changed ip settings, port settings
nothing would work
finally one of the ports numbers i changed and locked me out of that miner screen
but even when i had the miner screen every setting i tried couldn't get any and accepted shares.

i tried username:password,username:password
i tried ipconfig adresss, still not working

is there somewhere to download new firmware or anything.

Okay, first things first:

1) Make sure you followed the first post in this thread exactly.

2) Pay close attention to this:

Make sure Gateway and Primary match, and that Pool Addresses are the IP of the computer that your proxy is running on.

Those don't HAVE to be that way, but I know that they work.

I've been trying to take a screenshot but its not happening on the sandbox

here are the lights I've got

1  red light is solid on

2 Ethernet: green flashing every 4 seconds,

3  yellow solid on

4  two green lights to and bottom both solid on

Okay, and assuming the fan is running, it is powering on, and it seems like it sees a way to communicate...

i had the screen of the miner up on this url: 192.168.1.100:8000

but now after changing something i can't connect to that

ive rest to factory settings button, but still can't connect in mac or sandbox

I've followed the guide from start to finish over and over, don't know how to get it to connect.

can i ask someone to help me, I've tried everything to get this thing to work for 10 hours.
I'm using a mac, I've been trying it using windows parallels with proxy also but I'm so stuck, its probably something simple.

it just can't connect.

can't this thing work in a sandbox?

I can't comment on the Mac aspect (thank Jeebus), but you have to be more specific:

Are you getting errors in the miner? Does the fan come on, along with the lights?

Can you get to the Cube configuration page? If so, post a pic.

What does your .bat file contain?

We can't help without more information.

@gamersglory, want to get rid of your doorstops?

Good point. I want to get rid of my running-like-a-demon doorstop for cheap.

Take a look: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.5814070

Heavily modified and works a treat. If anyone is interested, throw me an offer.
What did you do with the internals?

Oh, I put a heatsink on each chip, and I have the oscillators and resistors to bump the speed up even higher. I just don't have the skills to do the soldering.

Anyone interested?

sent you a PM

I would advice no one to buy ASIC miner Cubes as they break to easily and are too expensive. As I have 2 and both are now doorstops. Wasted too much time and money on them.

There we go. "No one" should buy them because you had a bad experience? And the millions of dollars of bitcoins that were mined with all the cubes that you didn't own?

Folks, that solves it. You should never, ever, buy anything from Amazon at Lab126, AMD, Apple, Audiovox, Avaya, Averatec, Bose, Cisco , ystems, Dell, eMachines, Emerson Electric, Emerson Radio, Gateway, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Intel, Magnavox, Microsoft, Motorola, NVIDIA, Packard Bell, PowerVolt, RCA, SGI, Sun Microsystems, Texas Instruments, Unisonic, Unisys, Vizio, Zenith, or Xerox.

Ever. Why? Because they have each had two, and sometimes a third, individual product fail.

Save your money.

Try swapping with another PSU, time based non failure performance degradation is usually power related.

Thanks mate!

That is what I was beginning to conclude after typing all that out and reading it back to myself as it seems about the only logical reason.

Hey all, I was wondering if anyone could offer any wisdom as to why my Cube's efficiency rate has dropped so dramatically? Plus I noticed some HW errors being reported with my client...

The Cube hashed @91+% up until couple days ago and now hashes around +/-75% efficiency. All chips are showing 0 (NO X), the clock is on High and averages 38 Gh/s, longpoll NOT active (not sure if it should be or what but it never has been active) and it is running on a stratum via my 2 scrypt rigs A/B priority. I did switch coins/pools for awhile with the Cube..maybe the alt coins algorithm is off causing the errors and low efficiency issues?
The Cube does not run hot but does need to be dusted/cleaned (time for monthly maintenance).
Although I added a fan to my rack recently I noticed the Cube's PSU is not running as hot as it was a few days ago and am wondering if the efficiency drop is correlated to how the PSU is currently working.

That is all I can think of at the moment. Thanks all!

Has anyone been able to set their Cubes up to use a wireless connection via the USB port on the back or even a Raspberry Pi instead of a wired connection? Just curious since this would make my life so much easier if it is possible since all I have is a laptop and don't want to tie it down just to feed my Cube an Internet connection and due to physical space constraints around my router it wouldn't really be feasible to run a direct line to the router either. Just wondering because with two children running around the house I would much rather have my Cube setup as a wireless stand-alone unit that I can put safely into a corner of my room/closet without worrying about it getting demolished by my kids

You mentioned you have a laptop...running Windows? Is it a spare laptop or one you use often?
If running Windows and the laptop is a "spare" go into your Network Adapter settings and select both your wireless adapter and Ethernet adapter, right click and select Bridge Network Connections. Now you can use your laptop as a "router" for your Cube with an Ethernet cable from the Cube to the Ethernet port on your laptop. Change your power settings on your laptop so you can close the lid and not shut off the OS.

Should work in a pinch Wink
