I'm having a similar problem but flashing firmware (both to newer and back) don't seem to help.

Have 2 other miners working and I have copied and pasted settings for pools, I have also tried different PSU's.
Are the other miners in the same batch? Copying firmware from those miners might not work anyways because of minute batch differences. Find the batch number of the affected miners and download the firmware from Bitmain for them if that’s the case.

I didn't copy the same firmware. This is a S7-F1 and I've been using fresh downloads of the 1FAN firmware from Bitmain.
Relink the image to Imgur? I’m having issues viewing the link for the image on the site you had it on.

I notice the HW rate is unusually high. Sometimes it hashes at about 1gh/s as self reported on the miner.

Electrical engineer. Mining since 2014.
MY s7 shows no hash.  All the chips are normal.  Temperature is below 80.

Have you tried resetting it?

See chapter 7.4 here:

Also make sure there is no extra space character after stratum server address or user name.

I suppose a PC Power & Cooling 1200W PS is not sufficient to run an ANTminer S7 at the standard frequency?

1st post states that power consumption is 1300W.

Some alternatives, they're all (relatively) quiet and they're all rated @ +130 CFM... works great on S5 and Spondoolies Smiley

PS: I haven't tried the SilverStone yet!

Those looks like good alternatives, thanks for the suggestions.

Has anyone ever tried to use another fans to reduce the noise? I thinking about use some Prolimatech Ultra Sleek Vortex 140mm, I know that its 166 m³/h instead of the 188 m³/h from the default ones, but I'm talking about 18 dBa at full speed!

Dogie, can you give me the distances from the edges to the nearest heatsink? Thanks.

Thank you zOU!

Just what I needed. Especially enjoyed the warning not to attach the fan the wrong way so it pushes air into your miner. That would be both tragic and hilarious.

Just started with an S7 with a single fan. TOO LOUD, and there is an annoying whine sound.

I like the enclosure ideas, but wanted to try quieter fans.

Ordered 2 Noctua fans (http://noctua.at/en/nf-f12-industrialppc-3000-pwm) for push-pull config.

I see there is a second 4 pin connector on the control board.

My question is, does anyone know whether I can just plug in the new fans and the firmware will control them properly? Or should I just wire the fans straight into the PSU?

Thanks,
zOU

batch doesn't matter, only a 1 or 2 fans version matters for the firmware you choose Smiley

OK I've upgraded my FW to may23rd release, we'll see if it makes a difference (no x after 20mn...)

Code:
System
Miner Type Antminer S7
Hostname AntminerS71
Model GNU/Linux
Hardware Version 3.5.3.0
Kernel Version Linux 3.8.13 #22 SMP Tue Dec 2 15:26:11 CST 2014
File System Version Mon May 23 15:57:10 CST 2016
Cgminer Version 4.8.0
Uptime 22
Load Average 0.99, 1.06, 0.78
--------------------------------------------------

still no x after 12h \o/

3d10h29m15s => still no dead chip !!

Woot, I'm really happy with the new FW !

May I ask... how did you choose the right firmware for your device? how do I know which batch of S7 i own?
