40c inlet temp and 80c out temp?
FYI: in fahrenheit that's in=100 and out=176
And that is only for it being on for 11 minutes???
You've missed the info above the graph, it was a stress test we did in a hot room.
Yes, I did read that part. Which is why I am confused. You say it is a "stress-test" yet the miner shows an up-time of 11 minutes. Is there a screen shot of a minimum 48 hour stress test done in the same "hot room"?

This miner runs very hot so it will be interesting to see if they stand the test of time. My GPUs don't last very long above 100c temps! Tongue

Dogie, might be worth mentioning, price, $/GH, warranty period, in your review?

Just in case there is any doubt that these are bespoke chips (click through for HD pr0n):

I wish they would revise their pricing but it seems there are enough folks willing to buy and take a guaranteed loss.  Supply & Demand at work...

I am pleasantly surprised to see the very active group of folks supporting the launch of the product.  Technical blog and firmware folks posting frequently -- great to see!

The SP10 contains 192 Hammer ASICs arranged into two large hashing boards. Hash rates vary between 1.4 and 1.6TH depending on temperature, and power consumption between 1.1 and 1.3KW from the wall. It contains a power supply, controller and cooling system - all in a 1.25U case.
....

Then the fight seems to be on for the 1TH/s space

Who will blink first on price
Spondoolies  1.45TH/s @ $4995 = 1TH/s @ $3,444
BITMAIN                                      1TH/s @ $3,599
Bitmine/Dragon/Clones                 1TH/s @ $3,600 (approx.)

Who can deliver on volume?
Who's miners can be overclocked enough?

bitmain/dragon ships next diff jump

this miner has lead time 5 jumps

cute miner but totally unprofitable, 60% loss
(include customs fees, vat and shipping cost)

Anyone who has purchased a SP10 already received?

First shipment was send yesterday, the early birds already got their tracking number.

One more reviewer (MineForeman) got his unit today.

We're testing and adapting the fw for hot environment as well. Here is a test in hot room we've done today:

Something is not adding up...or you should've released it in the Fall and people would've been able to keep their whole home heated with just a few units.

Question to the community:
For SP30 it's too late (we're too deep into the design) but for future miners, is LCD with Hashrate / Temperature / IP / other status desirable ?
If so, what data to display ?

Temp control is key when you have a more than 4 of these in a rackspace.
A simple temp LCD readout panel would only be an extra $10-$20.
The panel could light up Blue/Green when temps were in the normal range; Yellow/Orange when getting close to the limit; Red when over temp. And in the firmware you could throttle down the hashing until the unit was back to normal op. temp.
If an LCD panel was not an option, 3 simple led lights on the front face with the same color/temp arrangements would also suffice.

I have LCD temp panels on my units with a fan control knob and a freeze switch so I can control the temps with the fan and get the temps down from 50c down to 22c in about 45 seconds.

I think LCD screen is pretty useless, it will just increase the cost of the manufacturing... Most people do not watch their miners work :-)

Good job! I think you are the first company to do a stress test to their units.
Thanks. Our hw guys are ex Voltaire, Mellanox

Very nice to see (1.5 Th/s) but will be challenging with Summer coming for us Northern Hemisphere folks.
We're testing and adapting the fw for hot environment as well. Here is a test in hot room we've done today:

In fact, our testing unit was left in a close room for the night: http://eligius.st/~wizkid057/newstats/userstats.php/1PzK2WeeB9GzZwzPPJfA2h1D25Hsv2yb5e
