I think it depends on the country, where do u live. If you live in some badfull country in Africa, you must to have gun, to protect yourself. But look please on Japan or Georgia. This country has lower crime level and guns useless.

I agree with you, it is to protect and at the same time to kill. Some people are having guns because they have a lotnof enemies that they are not secured. They do not have the feeling of security anymore. But those who have guns even they have it as for protection, they become braver and use it as a aweapon to become proud.

I am not going to call the current times that we are living in as peaceful at all, With a lot crimes going on everywhere, it's never safe at all, recently some armed people attacked a police headquarters and freed some prisoners there killing one of the officers. Guns are needed in every home to protect the people because the criminals themselves have access to guns. Few years I go I used to be a guard and I have gun with me but it didn't help my character, I became boastful and my life is in danger because of it. So I decided to quite my job. I am not against gun but the one that should have must be know how to control himself,sometimes it kills the good side of a person.

On the international level guns and weapons are needed to deterrence the potential enemy. Let's take cold war as an example. USA and USSR were increasing their arms potential all the time but they didn't have armed conflict, because both countries understood that they will have more damage than advantages.

Why do we need guns and weapons? It because we need it to protect our self to those bad people's around us.we need it to fight our right way to those country's who wanted to be them our own country, mostly policed are always had a gun and the people on the government but I'm hoping that to use guns and weapons in a right way just like stop killing innocent people.how if new generation in this world could try it to kill innocent people using guns cause hey see to older that they just use it into bad wayn instead show the right way to see those new children's that guns is our protector not to use in a bad way.

Guns are essential for our everyday protection from criminals. You might think, why not use your fists instead of using weapon, well first of all not all people have the capabilities to fight and match whoever their attackers are, so this is a major reason for a citizen to have one. Second of all Guns gives us assurance that we are safe as long as we have a protective weapon with us, and lastly Guns must be only own with persons who can actually understand is sole purpose, and that is for self-defense only.
Guns have long appeared, for the sake of war, colonial invasions that people have created guns. For the purpose of military guns are created more and more, many types of guns are created. AND current guns have become a banned weapon in a few countries.
it's easy. even if we ban guns some people will still have them anyway. that's stupid to think that criminals will get rid of their quns if we politely ask them to do so.

Humanity can not live without weapons at all, even in ancient times, when a caveman made a stick with his weapon, he did not only send it to animals, but also to his fellow tribesmen, so it's in the genes. 
If you had as many guns as anybody else, you could protect yourself from any other person.
Nowaday, we are living in a society with many dangerous thing, i dont like to use gun because it is dangerous and too much problem to solve if i had a gun, however living in dangerous society make me think again whether to have a gun or not because i may need it to protect myself in the future.

We really need guns because nowadays because almost every criminal in our country has guns and the only thing to protect my family is also to have our very own gun. 
Most people feel safer with them. Their concerns are rather valid. The only way to defend yourself against a criminal with a gun, is with a gun yourself. What I'll never understand is why ordinary citizens are allowed to have assault weapons though. Those are used for war, and is just overkill for self defense.
True. I've held a gun before. It was a handgun. There is a feel to it, a certain power. I don't know if it's because of Hollywood or a natural curiosity but i really want to fire it on the wall or the ceiling or a dummy. There is a certain power when you hold a gun, and if that person has an emotional quotient of a kindergarten, you would really want to fire it. Most of the time at living being. I think we're not supposed to own guns not unless you are the police.

I don't think it's a necessity. I can understand people who say its for self defense but a person who's going to own one should undergo firm assessment first if they're fit carry one before getting a licensed firearm. Many people die each year of being shot, eigher accidentally or rage firing or just simply irresponsible gun handling.

Not all people need gun. Instead of gun to protect your self i think you need to pray in God to protect everyday in your life. Gun is not okay especially to person that have no temper in his life.I also think that not all are armed with a pistol because it still can not be saved if a whole mob with a weapon attacks. It is better to ask God for the protection of his family.
Well for self defense but this is not what it seems in most cases because no matter how disciplined the gun owner is there could really be a time in which they will be using it for a not so good reason.
I am a fun of banning guns to every citizens. Gun handler should be a professional tho it cannot still guarantee its uses
