Whats your ambient?

Whats your core temps, vrms temps??

Whats your cooling setup?

Pictures please?

Thanks.

Anger is a gift.
I'd think you'd hit bottom volt setting before 600mhz or at least 500mhz...but ya too early to start cranking them down...i'm still trying to crank'em up Cheesy surprised i haven't fryed a board yet...*crosses fingers* I'm currently trying to build a 5th/s uber franken jup setup...big square with 6 boards to a side all blowing to the middle and a 1300cfm exhaust fan to suck away the heat...almost done with it...will post pictures when finished...

I haven't watched this thread. How is the power consumption for the overclocked Jupiters?

well i just have nov. jups that i've oc'd myself...so my 1462gh/s is doing 1385 W according to bertmod...thats a 6 mod nov...have 2 more nov. jup coming and have 2 oct. jups so i should be around 5th/s after i'm done

Have a 6 module Nov. as well. Mine is showing 1526 GH/S and 1430W in bertmod.

Any underclocking settings?

Yes you can underclock in Advanced, I think 400Mhz is the bottom end of the range. Once you got there you could test voltages to find the lowest you could undervolt I guess.

Thank you, but I am lazy. I was looking for something like 600Mhz - XXX voltage; 500 Mhz - YYY voltage and so on. I don't have the time and the mood to start testing. Not right now. Maybe at 30 bil diff Smiley

I have seen that somewhere.

Let me dig.

I thought miners know how to dig Smiley

Heads up note

got hacked last Sunday..  mod put in ban for my hacked account DPoS a day and a half ago but it was active today anyway about 12 hours ago

Hackers were trying to scam people with a gift card half off deal a few hours after I was hacked on Sunday in this thread
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.7207278

I already got Gyft to ban the account that was used to purchase that card but who knows if he is PMing people I done business with in the past so I will post this heads up in a few threads I've been on a lot

If your miner is not performing normal, then try this first:

1. use original latest firmware from KNC
2. open your terminal and connect with ssh
3. go to advanced tab an set all values to the lowest, everywhere. Volt: "-0.1465" and MHz: "400"
4. then click "apply" and as fast on the mining tab
5. go to the terminal an type: ps
you will see this line in the upper part of the list:
   "waas -c /config/advanced.conf"
repeat the ps command after 30 to 40 seconds, when this line is away from the list
type this command: screen -r  (with ctrl a and d you can exit it)

If you see lines like: "KNC: accepted by FPGA 4 works but only 0 submitted" then quit your miner

6. Go to the system tab and klick on reboot

Let the system time to come up and wait for 2 Minutes when it is up, befor do anything

7. SSH again
8. open web frontend tab: Status and wait until you see the temperature on the right side
9. SSH: check with ps if there is no command waas and also if there is:
    {screen} SCREEN -S cgminer -t cgminer -m -d /usr/bin/cgminer --api-listen -c /config/cgminer.conf
If yes
10. SSH: screen -r   and check the performance
11. now open the tab: Advanced and if nearly all values from the stats are the same, then make little steps
max. 3 lines up on all values. And now got to step 4.

Also check the HW errors, after every 4-11 step reset the stats inside your cgminer: D then Z then Enter.

If your machine is now performing good, leave the fingers from it, check that you have an backup pool and
during increasing your values be very carefuly.
Do not increase any thing if the Asic Temp is 70'C or DC/DC is bigger then 95'C.

12. If you are finished with your settings, reboot the hole system after one hour and check a last time if you have not
so much HW-errors, if the temperature is inside an good range and the at last have a look to the performace.

If it helps: 1LQVkJKoZz8uYsnPuYaLU7HE5tGbQaBQFJ
thanks for the tips

Hey all,
I'm the proud owner of a used November batch Jupiter for a week now and quite pleased with it's performance. It's earned so far in a week 130 euros so should pay itself off soon, I plan to buy a few more to supplement my monthly wage, no get rich quick scheme just some extra spending cash for fun.!

Anyway my issue is when I got it out of the box it was hashing at 797 Gh/s average, as you can see from my screenshot. Good hashrate!

I then moved it to another location where it could be cooler and had some issues setting it up on a wireless bridge, I think during this I somehow reset to factory settings and it would only run at 620 Gh/s I upped the MHz on the dies from 900 to 1000 mhz and it now runs at 730 Gh/s but it's still not as fast as it was.....

I don't know what it's settings were, I'd like to get this running at almost 800 Gh/s again, can anyone help me reconfigure it?

Thanks guys,
Mcbonio

Wherever you moved it to its not running cooler, its running hotter according to those screenshots, might account for your loss of performance.

If you are comfortable with it, go back a couple of pages and load the "padrino" firmware, that will show you more info on the home page and give you the oportunity to overclock on the Advanced tab.

But you may want to sort the temps out first.

Hi everyone

I was fed up with my nov saturn's pci-e connectors and cables being fried all the time, the just vanish to air due to heat when overclocking.

I opened up my power and soldered thick wire straight to the 12v outlet of the atx-power and other to the ground. There were some capasitors still charged and my thumb remembers this project very well =) Then i soldered these cables straight to the asic-boards, where there is a place for other pci-connector. 12v cables i put to the reserved spot and ground cables to the soldered one that i just took off.

It doesnt look nice but now my other asic does 371 clocking as easily as the other, it was because of those pci-cables and connectors that i couldnt clock it like this before. For me 381 also worked but actual hashrate started dropping, perhaps overheating or something. Temp are 55 and 50 degrees celsius.

Perhaps it just need oil/water immersion to get more=)

0.99.1-e firmware and basic cgminer.sh with 0x lines in it. I tried never firms and once i ran 0,05 volts lower but at higher clocks they started making hw-errors more.

Now both ( so I have 2 ) asics combined produce 525gh/s on average. Wish I knew all this at the time i got the saturn, now its a bit late. Consumption on the kncminer page shows 487 watts for the asics.

So its about 1gh/s / 1 watt.

Wish i had the resources to push it to 1 tera!

thank you crashoveride54902!
Just by changing the ASIC 1 and 2 die's to 775Mhz in the Advanced tab I got 7% more

Saturn @ 300Ghs/s.. : )

Bob, did you end up SSH'ing into your box or did you just change the MHz to 775 - Also, did you change the die1-4 voltage at all? If so from what to what?

Thanks!!!!!!
T-

Just change Mhz to 775. No change at the die1-4 voltage. ... just checked and last 60m on pool shows 292Ghs/s

Hi Padrino,

did you note this:
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.3519275

Can it help you to make some mods more?

What do you think about an automated overclocking.

An other thing, what can I do, if the bertmod reports to me that the dc/dc are of and not on. How can I swicht them on?
