L3+ only $462 - $200 coupon.
They must have a new more powerful model coming out??

Was thinking that myself.  I have a couple $420 coupons was thinking of getting some of those for next to nothing.

Only $220 or below coupons work for this batch of L3+.

good to know I used a 200  and paid

462 + 99 = 561 - 200 = 361

Do you have any $200 coupons for sale ?

I can give you a 100 for free.

Thank you Phil - Used a coupon, worked out well.

I think I ended up buying 11 of them but a little slower to start would have saved me some money.

I paid about 800 or 850   on average for the 11.

I like the clock to 312
the watts drop to 680
the fans are 24%

Hi philip, whats your take on the L3+? Thats a lot, 11 pcs is more than a gamble. Aren't you afraid that they will be releasing a new model soon that will make your L3+s obsolete? I'm sure you've done the math but would you care to share your thoughts?

buysolar and I are designing a solar  mining setup.

six  200 watt panels --------------- 10-20 year warranty
special solar to psu gear to miner gear ----------- 5-7 year warranty
L3+ ---------------------------------- more or less disposable.

concept is simple  pay one price never pay again

L3+  uses 800-850 watts for  500mhs
it uses  690 - watts for 400mhs and is quiet fans go  to 25%  at freq 312

the key to key price low  is gear under  850 watts like the L3

if I do this with
s9
avalon 841
T1

they all exceed 1200 watts.

This  type of setup can be on grid or off grid.
Off grid is cheaper no permits  just have space
On gird  costs more needs  a permit

The people that are good on RX mining, how to setup on simplemining (claymore) to run dagger-hashimoto with lower temps? Right now it does around 29.5Mh/s. I will be happy to lower down the temps and power consumption with lower hash.. but I cannot get it done.
I've tried with 800 and 850 at voltage (currently are 900), lowering the power stage (right now is 4), playing with -dcri, -asm, but I cannot make it.
Anyone got any advice? During the high temps (around 26-30 degrees here in Europe) I've just powered it off and I'm trying to find settings so I could lower down the temps and power consumption.

Thanks

Everyone mining ZEN, it looks like the miners are about to get screwed big time as more of the block reward gets diverted to shady "supernodes" and "securenodes":

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.34458806

I'm giving some serious think [sic] as to whether I want to continue mining this coin now.

Well if you have 43 coins, it's time for a node !

.... and 600 coins for a Supernode!

I saw 500 !?

Yeah, both of them are wrong...  Tongue You need 42 ZEN for a secure node and 500 ZEN for a super node.

Also, these changes are slated to go into effect in late Q3 of this year, so plenty of time to keep mining. I definitely won't continue once an effective 30% tax is in place, however (ie - only 70% of each mined block will be paid out to miners).

If anyone has any spare 200 coupons for Bitmain they don't plan on using, hit me up.

I'm trying to dip my toe into the ASIC market for the first time and would like to order a few L3+.

Thanks Smiley

Hard to say if it's legit or not.
I would just send [email protected] you probably already know he's the head of sales and marketing.

I would have thought if anything you might have received an email from someone else in their sales team, or from a Canadian distributor if one ever appears.

I forwarded the email even higher to Jon Phillips and Xiangfu actually.

My group has more than 300 units of Avalons in Canada ~ cant afford any scamming or info phishing.

Thanks for this info.  I didn't realize they dropped the price even more.  I just ordered two more units.  I'm hoping difficulty doesn't go up too much with these low prices.  Just goes to show that they can sell these machines for so cheap and still make a profit I can only imagine how much money they make on all these miners.  I'm guessing they could probably drop the price of all their miners to this price and still make a profit.

Edit:  LTC and BTC was available as payment options again too.

Canaan still uses the canaan-creative.com address, but it is for email and other use only.

The company website address is www.canaan.io, which we all know of course.

But of course it is always a good idea to doublecheck if you are not familiar with the sender address.

I don't recognize the email address that was CC'd; it might be someone from the sales team or it was added in to provide the appearance of legitimacy.

I  have been GPU mining for about 5 months. I am on the fence a little regarding ASICs. Both philosophically and financially.

Would the L3+ be a good way to dip my toe in the ASICs water?

Any noobie caveats for ordering and paying Bitmain?

Thanks, Frankie

I have been mining bitcoin only for a few years before I started to open to door the GPU (alt).

Litecoin is doing great there days. I almost bought a few L3 but I'm short in electricity at my hosting ... so i want to replace my S7 with other btc miners.

It would be nice buy with the 420$ coupon.

My opinion is yes, it should be a good idea to get an L3, they looks like way more reliable then the S9 which is the main reason i'm not going for any bitmain bitcoin miner anymore.

How loud are they if you compare them to the A741 for exemple ?

just set fan to 30%   and down clock freq from 384 to 336  pretty quiet

or set fan to 24%  and down clock freq from 384 to 306  = quiet.

they won't do a 420 coupon  but they will do a 100 or 200 coupon.
