I participate in different projects, and almost everywhere there is Soft cap and Hard cap. In this case, Soft cap is the minimum limit of the collected fund, and hard is the maximum limit.

Oh, this is simple, the soft cap is the amount of money in, the project needs just to cover their expenses to achieve the goal, hard cap is there a mount that would cover all things.

Whenever some new ICO launch their project they set the hard cap and soft cap for their project. In easy words, this means minimum and maximum amount they want to collect for their project.

And I've always wondered why soft cap is so different from hard cap. For example, if soft cap 5 millions and hard cap 35 millions. I think that's too big a difference. Maybe someone will explain to me why this is happening.

The difference is because the ICO promoters want the investors to value their project. A wide range means that the total number of circulating tokens will be decided by the investors based on the demand (provided that the soft-cap is reached without any issues).

These are raising support objectives. Delicate top is as far as possible, the insignificant sum required for the venture to be considered. In the event that the task does not achieve its delicate top, the group will restore the assets. Then again, hard top is the most extreme sum a crowdsale will get.

The hardcap and the softcap is the identification of an ico in the sale. The softcap is the minimum reach of their fund raising in order to proceed with its project. The hardcap, is the maximum allocation of the token, meaning its max value is sold. Lets say, the softcap of an ico is 5m and the hardcap is 10m. The garnered fund is just 6m, then the project still proceeds because it reaches its softcap. But when they only collected 4m, there is a possibility that the project will not continue, and they return the invested fund to the investor.
You are right, in my experience as an investors, I see people rush to invest in an ICO which is close to reaching it's hard cap.
In post ICO as well, I notice that those project who did reach their hard cap, are usually getting the success.

Soft Cap is the minimum amount for project succession. Below that would be improbable to carry out the project successfully. Although some teams organize a second public sale phase and use the money of first ico for development, and this time, with some features revealed, they get more investments and they eventually succeed.

Hard Cap is the maximum amount of investment the project will accept during the sale. It is depending on the token amount of public sale.
This definition was helpful. Thank you. What happens when a project reaches to hard cap value?
hard cap is the amount that they will accept no more than. For instance a soft cap could be 10 million and a hard cap 30 million meaning if the project does not attain 10 million it will not proceed and also if it reaches 30 million no more can be contributed.
Thank you, so it means all coins sold out and there is no coins left for another buyer?
This is very good for the owner but after that? What happens? If someone reached hardcap, then the coin's price should moon?
I think not all coin who reached hardcap are going to moon because sometimes it becomes dumped in the market due to lot of big investors who purchased it in low price on while they are on PreSale stage. PreSale stage is the time on which the coins can be lowered the price until 50% into its ico price that can possibly maked a dump in the market because some of its early investors got a profit already and they want to get it. Hardcap also doesn't mean that it become pumps in the market because it is always based on the demand and supply in the market that can be control by its supporting community.
if so, what is the difference between cryptocurrencies and Kickstarter, Indegogo?
Crypto has trading option which is plus?
It is much like a kickstarter for blockchain project. Moreover, with current trends in the field of investment you have a possibility to support the project that you really want to be implemented in the reality.
Actually a blockchain-kickstarter is OK for me, but I think most of the community don't know that deeply. So they invest because it is rising Smiley without knowing that they support a project somehow..
Thanks all for this good talk. You are not parrots like others who repeat the same thing Smiley

Soft cap means the minimum goal to reach in ICO project,if the soft cap is not attained,d project will be called off and the iinvested amount will be returned back to the their investors while hard cap is the amount that is enough for the full implementation of the project

What is the difference of hard cap to soft cap? Did we base on this if we are going to invest in altcoins? Share your comments.
Please check the link below. The article is a pretty good reference on the subject. This subject is one of the basic things investors and bounty hunters should clearly understand in the crypto world.

Soft cap is the minimum amount of funds that is required to run the project. And the hard cap is the amount that is enough for the full implementation of the project. When the hard cap is assembled, it means the project is good enough.

Usually, the ICO is held for the entire minimum declared period. Therefore, if they even collect the hard cap before then the ICO will still continue. I have rarely seen companies that are ahead of schedule to complete ICO. ICO prolong usually the opposite. Buy tokens of our project, then on the exchange.

I think if one ico`s who achieved their soft cap are nice to invest ,basically soft cap and hard cap is the one thing that you can use to know if the ico`s are good to invest or not, soft cap - this is the main goal of one ico, hard cap this is the thing that many ico`s didnt achieved because its so hard honestly i`ve seem almost  4 ico`s that achieved their hard cap.

Personally, I'm not yet joining any soft cap program. But, if you want to join such a program, you should study the detailed information about the project itself and bounty conditions.

Soft-cap is the minimum amount of capital necessary for the project with ICO to start implementing its plans (roadmap).
Often the project has two variants of a roadmap: one for soft-cap and separately for hard cap.

I also do not quite understand what exactly this is and why there are such big differences between them, it seems to me that they very often are superfluous, because the hardcap can be very large, but it is simply not as important as softcap
