If by Goal, i want to believe you mean "Serving its primary purpose of helping people transfer money easily over the internet and serving as a store of value", then in my opinion, I am pretty sure Bitcoin has fully reached its goal. Currently, Bitcoin is the most patronized cryptocurrency that serves largely as store of value (coin for investment). Aside this, it also one of the most suitable/convenient means to transfer/make payment over the internet.

Bitcoin has not reached it's goal yet because it is not used as a mainstream form of currency to spend. When lightning is released then it is possible for the dream to be reaslied, otherwise we have to rely on altcoins to do the job

I think that bitcoin would not be reaching a goal in near future because it has not developed to that point to perform that. it was developed to become a crypto (!) currency, and as far away from being one, that we use.

I think bitcoin hasn't reached its goal. Because the purpose of bitcoin I think is accepted by every country as a legal payment instrument. But bitcoin hasn't reached that. And bitcoin still requires a lot of time so that all that can be achieved.

Of course all this can be achieved, but a lot of obstacles arise in the way. I think that soon the government will understand their mistakes and resolve bitcoin

At the current moment, Bitcoin is still very far from it's mission. Though moving gradually impacting users and investors all round the world but until the governments of majority of the countries recognise and accepts what it has to offer then it will continually be under the shadow.

I'm not referring to the price of Bitcoin (we all know it's going to be $250,000/coin by 2022), but the goal that it would be a legitimate alternative to inflationary government fiat currencies.  When the altcoin market is examined, it is inextricably linked to the price of Bitcoin.  Where Bitcoin goes, so does the rest of the cryptocurrencies.  There's even somewhat of a dismissive attitude toward other crytpos in some investment circles; strangely this was a similar sentiment held by those "respectable" investors when Bitcoin was in its infancy.

What do you think?  I'd love to hear from some crytpo veterans.

I believe bitcoin is still a work in progress and at that despite what bitcoin is being able to do as the king of cryptocurrency and a determinant factor for any growth in the crypt market, bitcoin is about to reach it goals but with time.

Bitcoin is something new and innovative. There are new users coming to it. It’s peak will come when some other technology overcomes Bitcoin’s innovations. I don’t see the peak coming in the next 5 years.

Did Bitcoin ever have a stated objective or goal? if so I don't think many people myself included know what it is. We understand the basic concept and can see it's value and application in potentially many fields of human endeavor; and admire the very cleaver men and women behind the various crypto technologies. But there is a big caveat-just as splitting the atom has given us many peaceful uses of neculier technology, it also gave us the horrors of nuclear war. Crypto has the power for great good but also great harm.

I don't think so, bitcoin still has to grow and be accepted by all people. Currently there are still many people who do not trust bitcoin but the growth of bitcoin so far I think has been very good. So let's wait for what bitcoin will look like in the future after the last coin is mined.

I think the purpose of bitcoin is not the high value that bitcoin achieves, but the purpose of bitcoin is as a global currency that can be used as a payment method all over the world. And it looks like bitcoin has not been able to achieve its goal, because bitcoin is more used as an asset.
No bitcoin has a long way to go still. Its price is very down and is not able to recover from a very long time now.We all know that bitcoin has a lot of potential and capability to create new records.2017 was the year of bitcoin and people are expecting the same in 2018 also.Bitcoin's price also depends on a number of factors like the demand and supply forces, investment done in bitcoin, bitcoin mining etc.People need to keep paitence in matters of bitcoin as everything takes time.

No Bitcoin hasn't achieved the direct still, Bitcoin acclaimed to be the world money where everybody harshly the planet can utilized it to get all, now the takeover rate is yet low, and the administration continue obstructing the selection, and the Bitcoin adjoin itself yet not nevertheless prepared, the readiness and the engagement nevertheless troublesome, thus I think require more opportunity to make a lead of this press on.

The possible reason price of altcoins are linked to the price of Bitcoin is because the price movements are caused mostly by crypto traders

The phenomenon is more pronounced when serious investments stop flowing into  altcoins or Bitcoin.

Great news normally move the price of Cryptocurrencies but  not anymore?
I would have suggested increase in marketing and  project development... unfortunately none seem to work very well these days.

Market is pretty much unpredictable these days.
