Nope, Bitcoin has a long way to go till it reaches it's goal and all of us know that this goal is the moon! The whales pumped the price, profited like crazy from it, then they dumped it so they can acquire more and they will pump it again by the end of 2018.

Bitcoin has a purpose? I thought bitcoin is only used for speculation and the goal of "reaching 250K dollars" is too vague and causes me to doubt.

I believe that bitcoin has achieved its goal. As far as I understand its original purpose was to become an alternative financial system and compete with banks. Today, we can observe how the banks themselves begin to introduce into their work the technology on which bitcoin is built. Perhaps this was the goal.

this is very possible, taking the only chance to achieve a desired point or goal against the bitcoin currency is very dependent on you and how you use it or you work hard from it. many people who participate in the currency expect the best value and expensive, but we should all have more bitcoin vision and mission to the people to get the best value. the conclusion that to achieve this goal we must be patient and work.

I don't think so, not anytime soon.
Bitcoin already reach its goal but bitcoin has a lot of goals especially to traders. Bitcoin become useful for everyone. Its being used a financial support. The goal it self was supporting bitcoin in order to achieve it.

I can say it reached its goal when it will be recognized as a new currency, a stable one, and be used globally and accepted by everybody. ofcourse all supply will already be mined and all the 21 million coins will be in circulation

I'm not referring to the price of Bitcoin (we all know it's going to be $250,000/coin by 2022), but the goal that it would be a legitimate alternative to inflationary government fiat currencies.  When the altcoin market is examined, it is inextricably linked to the price of Bitcoin.  Where Bitcoin goes, so does the rest of the cryptocurrencies.  There's even somewhat of a dismissive attitude toward other crytpos in some investment circles; strangely this was a similar sentiment held by those "respectable" investors when Bitcoin was in its infancy.

What do you think?  I'd love to hear from some crytpo veterans.

Bitcoin was never meant to be an ssest in the first place. People began to buy bitcoin because of its value. Bitcoin was made to be like fiat money only decentralized. So in terms of reaching the goal I think bitcoin has a long way to go before reaching its goal.

Very well said! I too believe it was meant to replace, at least live side by side, with fiat money. In that sense it’s a long way from its goal. And btc fee is the very thing that prevents it from fulfilling its goal.

It hasn't at all, we shall be saying it has achieved much of its goal when we see top merchants like amazon eBay etc accepting it as payment gateway and also been legalized by many countries....

not yet, the purpose of bitcoin is still far away because it has not been legalized and some countries forbid it, and there are some countries that do not yet know what bitcoin is. so I think the purpose of bitcoin is still long and it will take a long time to achieve it all.

I think that yet, Bitcoin has become popular, many use it for different purposes, but we still see some shortcomings: hacking, banned by some country. Bitcoin is only about 10 years old, and I do not think this is enough to achieve the goal.

I think you are right. If BITCOIN is able to overcome these problems somehow then BITCOIN can become a currency of the world, that is, accepted everywhere. And then may be its goal will be reached.

Bitcoin is very dependent on the news, now they have posted Satoshi Nakamoto's "Anxious Key" at the bitcoin conference in Lisbon - that's not growing. There will be another news report, for a good uplift of the exchange rate / confidence, which will raise its price very much.

Not yet. But is on its way fastest than anyone expected. And detractors can’t do anything about it. Bitcoin will become mainstream.

Bitcoin's goal probably is not just its value but its benefits. What will Bitcoin do in the future? It can become a popular currency. That makes me interested

I am fine for now if the bitcoin currency does not reach its destination, because bitcoin still has its constraints and constraints or development stages. and many people do not understand or limit the science of what bitcoin is, I think reaching its goal is that currency must be used by everyone all over the world.
