Well, I guess the lack of updates means this carcass has been thoroughly cleaned by the vultures and is finally buried for good? Good riddance.

List of failed projects where I got totally screwed:

  • ASICMiner
  • Bitcoinica
  • MtGox
  • NeoBee
  • HashFast

It's been a wild ride. At least I learned something about human nature (greed and corruption) and how well the legal system operates (more greed and corruption). So there is that Smiley

Another day, another BakerHostetler Doxxing

Do they really need to send me 35 pages (x 27 names with addresses) of creditors every few months ?

Yes because with each mailing they can claim absurd handling fees and remember, they get paid first, the victims get paid after the lawyers get paid, if there is anything left over

Hello,  I sent in my proof of claim a while ago and did not hear back. Do you have an email address for the attorney representing HF? I want to send in my POC again.

Do we have any indication how much will be paid out to us? I know it will be cents on the dollar sadly.

Thanks

Donald

well, and correct me if im wrong, but what stopped them from hiding some of that 20+million in btc  that they never claimed to own?
they are on a beach right now, rich off our btc i bet ;p
this is highly likely to me, as i have a source involved in Garza's bs legally, and they are having trouble locating over 6million$$$,
(cause they had it in btc and hid it most likely ;\)

Nothing stopped them Smiley
They aren't on a beach. They are up in the air if I recall right. If you are hunting Josh I think that you might want to start from here: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g38969-d9801022-Reviews-IFLY_Kansas_City-Overland_Park_Kansas.html (nothing officially, just according to our old time friend Gleb)

US Bankruptcy Court's ruling could help HashFast trustee recover $1.3 million

wow and here's something in that article to note;

"The FTC revealed that Butterfly Labs took at least $20 million from consumers, and potentially up to $50 million. This month, Butterfly Labs and two of its operators, part-owner Sonny Vleisides and general manager, Darla Drake, agreed to settle FTC charges. However, even though the judgment was $38.6 million against the company, the FTC agreed to collect only $15,000 because they were unable to pay more."

15,000$ is all running BFL scam cost them in the end ;\

At this point I think most would be happy with a USD refund, but that seems to be taking a sweet long time. Any update on this (from you guys that have PACER access)?

It only means that one of the scammers will have to return a payment and not get a windfall out of it as he liked to put it. I would be surprised if even part of that money found it's way back to the customers.

A California bankruptcy court is set to weigh in on whether bitcoin should be considered a currency.

The hearing, set for 19th February, follows months of legal wrangling between the trustee of bankrupt bitcoin mining firm HashFast and Marc Lowe, a former promoter for the service who operated under the handle 'CypherDoc'.

Happy New Year all!

I checked https://archive.org/details/gov.uscourts.canb.522575_201512 (thanks for the link!) but it seems it only covers larger creditor claims.

Is the default to disallow claims? Should I assume my (small) claim is disallowed since I did not receive any written communication over the past month or two?

I would assume nothing at this point.
If you don't see your name across the documents, that doesn't mean they won't try this later, some people are on the list and have verified they have not seen any kind of notice in the mail.
we will see what comes of all this
