No they cant refund everyone with the same amount of btc..... its not feasible. Gee.... stupid as stupid does.
The only problem in your thinking is that they repeated several times that they would refund the same amount of BTC if they failed to ship (remember when that user went to visit them and he repeated that john said so, repeatedly?)

The only problem with your saying is that..... you trust their words. Even if its not feasible.

What do you think the pre-order fund is for?

They had one whole day to test it, and i expected some screaming results from their twitter account by now... Makes me wonder... USD refunds for everyone!

paid with BTC, order ack is in BTC, refund will be in BTC.

This is the only reason I ordered first batch.

If any of you expect that, you're all idiots.

They only use btc as payment system, not currency.

wrong. order is in BTC not in USD. paid BTC to a normal address not with BitPay. they have to hedge against the risk.

EDIT: paid also as a life time member to the Bitcoin foundation to a normal address. the amount is still in the address. but HF was so "clever" to transfer the amount out right after the payment.

For what? To exchange 50 BTC against 8 BTC?

no. if they are professionals they did a hedge against foreign exchange risk as all companies do if they have foreign exchange business with foreign currencies.

So... have we heard any official performance/power efficiency numbers for the production chip with the special non-shorting production substrate and hot off the line PCB?

The only thing that I saw was the test chip they looked at had 95 of 96 cores functioning, but no tested max speed and/or power draw at the tested speeds.

This is what I want to know too!

"Direct BTC Transfers utilize the exchange rate posted on bitstamp.net."
They where using MtGox rate when i ordered. On a completely unrelated note, how do you know that the address belongs to Bitstamp?

Nobody knows for sure, but there are some evidences pointing to Bitstamp.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/the-switch/wp/2013/11/23/heres-who-probably-did-that-massive-150000000-bitcoin-transaction/

"About half of the transactions sending bitcoins to this 12sENw address between August 29 and November 14 were from addresses we had associated with Bitstamp. This could be true for a lot of reasons (a heavyweight user withdrawing their bitcoins, for example), but there were a few other weird things I saw that made me think otherwise.

For example, a lot of the bitcoins that flowed out of the 12sENw address went to one of two other addresses: 1Drt3c8 and (especially recently) 1HBa5. The former of these addresses we have tagged as Bitstamp, and the latter is often within one hop of a known Bitstamp address (e.g., it has also sent a lot of bitcoins to 1Drt3c8)."

HF is holding a lot of bitcoins.. you can count on it.... why hold fiat?  you pull enough fiat to pay bills.. the rest you leave in btc...

I did a little research about what did happen with my BTC if I ordered a BabyJet in August 2013. the address below seems to me is a HashFast Bitcoin address:

https://blockchain.info/de/address/12sENwECeRSmTeDwyLNqwh47JistZqFmW8

background is to get information if the BTC still is available if the fail to deliver by 31 December 2013.

That address 12sENwECeRSmTeDwyLNqwh47JistZqFmW8 with 224,801 bitcoins belongs to bitstamp, there is really no way to know for sure if HashFast is just holding the received bitcoins in their bitstamp or if they have already sold the bitcoins for USD.  My guess is they have already sold most of their bitcoins for USD to pay for building the system.  I would not be keeping a large sum of bitcoins with an exchange no matter how reputable, considering there has been so much cases of thief of funds (mostly by insiders).

ok, it seems you are right. sorry for the hope I provided with my posts but it was also for my own hope. cannot believe they did not hedge against the case they fail to deliver. it's not professionell.

same here, also connected with the address above.

When I ordered (Before August 15th), I used direct Bitcoin transfer to an address. No BitPay. They send me a nice form with an address to send bitcoins too:
and what happened with the BTC in that address? It is still sitting there? Or did it move? Was it unique for you? Or a gathering address?

Not sitting there anymore. Unique for me, not a gathering address initially, but seems to have moved to this gathering address and out:

33,901 in total BTC received from August 06- October 24th:
https://blockchain.info/address/17hCi8apMUkzzLLJgUwfXxRJuykuo5Lcur

So what does this mean? If they still have BTC they could refund everyone that paid in BTC if they wanted?

I'm pretty sure they wouldn't want to do that.   Cheesy

It's not what you think they would do or not. There's no room for any interpretation. Make no mistake, they will need to refund in BTC. That's the currency they stole from us. The same exact currency that also the MPP is based on.

I don't want to sound like an ass but they lied.  If your grateful for waiting for two months then good for you son,  good for you

All ASIC manufacturers have been late, or have not delivered at all. I came into this expecting the chance of a delay. I guess I'm just conditioned to waiting a year and 3 months at BFL. I was in the first month of orders. But the light at the end of the tunnel came soon.

That's not true.  The less reputable ones have been late but the ones that have turned out to be good have been upfront with accurate time lines and have given partial refunds to compensate for delays.

yes, I assume they are prepared for this case if they fail to deliver by 31 December 2013. I further assume Barber is also active with Bitcoin since the early days.
