wrong. order is in BTC not in USD. paid BTC to a normal address not with BitPay. they have to hedge against the risk.

EDIT: paid also as a life time member to the Bitcoin foundation to a normal address. the amount is still in the address. but HF was so "clever" to transfer the amount out right after the payment.

no. if they are professionals they did a hedge against foreign exchange risk as all companies do if they have foreign exchange business with foreign currencies.

So... have we heard any official performance/power efficiency numbers for the production chip with the special non-shorting production substrate and hot off the line PCB?

The only thing that I saw was the test chip they looked at had 95 of 96 cores functioning, but no tested max speed and/or power draw at the tested speeds.

HF is holding a lot of bitcoins.. you can count on it.... why hold fiat? you pull enough fiat to pay bills.. the rest you leave in btc...

My guess is they have already sold most of their bitcoins for USD to pay for building the system. I would not be keeping a large sum of bitcoins with an exchange no matter how reputable, considering there has been so much cases of thief of funds (mostly by insiders).

It's not what you think they would do or not. There's no room for any interpretation. Make no mistake, they will need to refund in BTC. That's the currency they stole from us. The same exact currency that also the MPP is based on.

All ASIC manufacturers have been late, or have not delivered at all. I came into this expecting the chance of a delay. I guess I'm just conditioned to waiting a year and 3 months at BFL. I was in the first month of orders. But the light at the end of the tunnel came soon.

That's not true. The less reputable ones have been late but the ones that have turned out to be good have been upfront with accurate time lines and have given partial refunds to compensate for delays.

yes, I assume they are prepared for this case if they fail to deliver by 31 December 2013. I further assume Barber is also active with Bitcoin since the early days.
