Does the RPi auto update to it if we have auto updates checked? I noticed my RPi reboot and firmware is showing as blank now. Is it safe to assume it updated to 0.4 or is there a way to tell somehow with some terminal command?

An RPi image that both auto updates itself and the firmware is planned, but not yet ready. But people have waited long enough for this firmware update.

Again the image linked to in the forum post is *only* an updater; there is no MinePeon or web interface supported. Do NOT overwrite your HashFast / minepeon SD card; (unless you back it up first!).

First thanks Amy for the update. So there is currently no easy way to run the new firmware with the new cgminer version with the minepeon right (because I can't update the cgminer version on the minepeon)? Do you know when you update for the minepeon is ready?

That and some frequencies just don't work; you will ask for 610 for example and you will get back 609. Cgminer will show you what you actually got.

Prior to the firmware update: 562mhz showed 360GH/s on pool and 10% error rate
After firmware update: 562mhz shows 375GH/s on pool and 0.3% error rate

I will try to push the core clock up tomorrow and see how it handles it. Before the update I could not go higher then 562mhz without it becoming unstable.

That's the new firmware disabling cores that are misbehaving. Some of these are fine. If you are getting lots, then you might find the hashrate is actually equally good, if not better, with more stability and less power usage at lower clock speeds. I certainly found that.

A fix for this is now in git, allowing you to use the most current cgminer with older firmware.

Yeah I just tried cgminer4.0.1 on my ubuntu machine, looks like it didn't update (same OP_NAME error). I am kind of feeling like a dumbass right now.

Edit: ok so it was very easy. On my ubuntu machine, download first link (http://setup.hashfast.com/files/hashfast-20140224-0-multiarch.tar.gz)
extract
in terminal, go to that folder you extracted to
run

sudo ./field_firmware_update.py

Note: it doesn't work without sudo. got errors. Works now! However, cgminer 4.0.1 is showing it hashing at 990GH/s at 550mhz (wtf?) Pool end so far (only 5 minutes into it) shows 380gh/s.

I don't think that it updated. It still shows the older cgminer version.
