Dont think any of the large manufacturers will go into scrypt since the market s not big enough. There s LTC, which is big time shaky after Ether, Factom and the gang entered the market and started challenging it for number 2 position. Who would invest millions into development of an Asic which can mine 1 single coin with potentially failing market cap?

Yeah, the last 'big hole' was filled by KNCminer, with their Titans. Their latest batches were crappy to say the least, and now they filed for bankruptcy too, there could be a nice entry for companies willing to take the risk.
Jumping in on the Scrypt market back then with them Titans, from a corporate financial point of view, sure didn't do them any harm  Wink

cryptomining-blog.com reviews from time to time some script ACISs

Looks like garage invention of genius from Guangzhou (if you understand what I mean)

I recently made my first "rig" with 2x R9 390 - to play with ETH mining, so let's see

Just what I said.

Most of the ASIC manufacturing is concentrated around supplying and improving SHA256 hardware, making difficulty relative rise at an insane speed, and thus making current equipment becoming obsolete quite fast in the process. You're practically 'forced' to renew your equipment like 1 or 2 times a year, if you like mining and want to keep up.

I believe there is (still) a good market in Scrypt ASIC's. If there were some legit cloud company be doing the same with Scrypt based ASIC's like Hashnest is doing with their Antminers, in my opinion, that would be an awesome opportunity; especially, if one could point their hosted hashes towards a pool or coin they desired.

Got it

The problem is - there no any commercially viable Script ASICs on the market. So I dont think we can expect that BTM will be a pleasant exemption

if btc makes a run pass 600 , fuk the s9s , its goin to be over price anyways. s7s  at these prices  im loading up. it might actually make it pass halving . lets see what btc does first, going to be a interesting june

$575 is our next barrier

With $600 we will pass halving easily

But I want to have at least 20-30THs with S9
i will pick some up right when it comes out as well,  im banking on people that cant afford full machines willing to pay a premium.  either by it first or wait a couple weeks to let the hype price die down.   i dont no when its coming out tho it might take a while, they still need to ship the  s7 LN  next week. and also they usually make announcement to when new machines come out, they dont give it to us right away.

Would love to see Bitmain spitting out Scrypt based ASIC's as well.

What do you mean by that?

I think S9 is coming. If there is no sales of the S9 now, nobody will buy it after the halving, the profit is too low.

So looks like S9 will be released next week

The problem is they have no interest in providing profitable cloud anymore. They ve got so much money that farms and expansion of farms is self sustainable. Why play with cloud and letting someone else profit? The only way is not to let cloud customers have profit and only let them pay for your gear.

At some point their interest on getting super profit will coincide with our interest on getting profit. And in this short period we can work together

I've got very good profit on S5 and medium PacMIC v3

This next halving will bring even more centralization to the table. We ll have to invest into other options related to BTC, like tokens and smart contract projects.
Mining, well, having a small rig at home can satisfy ones need to call themselves a miner but cloud, that seems to be a history.

Until companies like BTM will provide cloud service - it will be popular and somehow rewarding

I do not speak about clowns like genesis, sweden crap etc

Pure Chinese power, full ignore and disrespect to customers - but at the end of the day with right difficulties and BTC/USD rate you will end  up with the profit

Ohoho, nice hash. Still, I think the only ones profiting will be them. Cloud mining s nearly dead.

Was already, since the huge diff increase started. Let's see what happens after the S9 release.
