There are times that I placed some bets and totally forgot to check the ticket afterwards. It's my nature to always place a bet and just put the ticket or slip in my pocket because I don't want to distract myself too much with it. There was a particular day that I didn't check my ticket till the next day and I found out that the game was successful. My wife has a different problem with lotto tickets. The contrary, you said your friend usually wins otherwise the reason that is valid for me that a gambler will forget to recheck his ticket is frequent loses. This is literally me too. When I buy lottery tickets, I wait on it, I watch the games to get the results, and I try to play it on weekends when I'm chanced, so that I can keep up. I will not have situations where I have to buy lottery tickets and forget to check, like, even if I forget, the next morning I'm going to check it. I'm going to be conscious that I put a ticket because I have a budget for this. Sure, if i forgot i bought the ticket, but it's not like i have ever won big anyway. And these days they are paying winnings directly to my account. If a person doesn't care about the lottery ticket, then don't buy/bet on it, I mean it's a waste of money and should've been spent on other important matters like emergency funds. For me, it's really non-sensical that you always forgot it unless you're very busy, but I get him, he's still trying the luck while working hard, even the probability is very low, it's still possible.
