I have only forgotten my Lotto ticket once or twice but never did again. And those tickets where not a won tickets. Each time I buy a ticket I am always conscious of the game result so I keep checking results often and on to make sure I didn't miss out because it will be bad of me to have bought a ticket and won without notice. I remember some time ago my dad won a a ticket he bought, but due to regular loss in other tickets made him not to bother himself so he thought it will be like other ones even as he expected win. So after a week the lottery agent waited but the winner was not there to claim it so the lottery agent used it, but still waiting on the claims from the winner being my dad. So my dad later found out that he won the ticket. so he showed up to the lottery office to claim his price and was confirmed and given his win amount he was happy and was encouraged never to give up hope.

That will be very risky for the people joining tbe lottery or the winner. Having thier number mighf as well have their address and that the people from the lottery office can just send a criminal to take the ticket from them.
Its just how it is though. 180 days could be long enough for those who forget but too short for those who remember it too late.

Anybody that forgets to check the lottery ticket or betting slip that they have usually forget because they are not expecting to win. I know fatigue can be a reason as well but it doesn't require much effort to check if you won or not, you only feel mostly unconcerned about it when you've lost so much from probably buying tickets and you are not expecting to win or it's your first time buying a lottery ticket and you're not expecting to win. If you have a strong expectation to win, you will never forget to always check back.

Why do he forget to buy the tickets? Actually, I possibly think that if he buys the lotto tickets from different shop he will probably forgets the particular shop that bought a particular ticket. However, since he checks the tickets by weekend it's not a bad idea but it will be more better if he checks it the next day. Of course not but I have forgotten sometimes where I have placed my lottery ticket which is usually a scary feeling even if I may not have won anything however I always find it in the end anyway. one very fatal mistake if you buy a lottery but don't check the lottery you have, even though the winnings are small, it's a shame if the prize we get is lost just like that because of our carelessness

Honestly, I don't know if I can easily forget about anything that is related to finance, especially when it concerns something that I am expecting to get some cash flow from. Although I have not had such experience recently but am not sure I can but just like the other comments said, the tickets doesn't just expire immediately, so the person can still remember to check it before it expires.

I think he is confident that he can check later that’s why he is not checking real time. You can accumulate as much as you want then check it at one go since not everyday you will the lottery so you can check in bulk given that daily results is already available in the internet.
The profit will not decrease if you will claim so I don’t see any negative effect if you forgot to check the result unless you literally never check before the claim duration expires which is impossible for a lottery bettor like me since he already making effort to bet even if he is busy at work.
I won't forget to check and if I skip checking the results on particular day then it will be only happen due to the superstitious beliefs such as if I don't check the results on the same day that might end up in a winning combination and I am sure most people who buy tickets and skip will have such belief too. I usually don't forget it, unless I buy it when I'm sleepy or drunk. I reckon people who do forget checking their tickets are people who are either like me in the scenario I bought it or are people who are just so used to buying it that they do it instinctively and yet just forget about it because of all the previous instances where they didn't win so in their minds, "why bother checking" kind of thing. Here in my country, when people buy a lottery ticket, they are asked to fill out a form where they put their full name, ID number, telephone number and home address. This way, if the person doesn't see the ticket on the day of the draw, after a few days the lottery organizers will contact the winner and if he or she doesn't answer the calls, then the lottery organizers will go to the winner's house to deliver the prize. I think it's a good measure. But I don't like playing the lottery. Honestly, I see it as the kind of game where you need to be very patient, the chances of winning are very low. I wouldn't be able to have the patience to buy the ticket and wait for the luck of hitting the jackpot one day.
I think Lottos are better off being played and not checked especially if you play these online unlike using physical slips, if you hit the jackpot or anything am pretty sure notifications will come...besides I think always checking if you hit the right numbers could depress you whenever you have a number from the drawn balls.
