I've lost lottery tickets before but like most of the tickets I have bought over the years, they are usually a losing tickets.
Most winning lottery tickets I know of do not expire, or takes quite a fairly long time before they expire.
yeah, it's not that they don't expire it's just that their expiry dates are usually several months to a year or maybe a year and several months longer. for example, in my country, winning lottery tickets usually have a one-year validity and if you fail to claim it in that time period it will be forfeited.
In my country, if I'm not wrong,
it is only 3 months, which is enough time in most cases, but I would make it longer, just in case. It may have changed but at least the last time I read about that topic the expiry date was after that time. (Edit: just checked it, it is 3 months indeed).
Can you imagine storing a winning ticket in a jacket you won't use again in several months because of the change of season, to realise after several months that you won, and not be able to do anything to recover it?
It won't happen to me, because I usually play lotteries with an App, so I receive notifications and I can check my tickets every time I want. The bad thing, I guess, is that if I ever win millions, my data will be sold to advertisers who will get really annoying wanting to sell me things
but still...
