@OP Can you please post again the screenshot of all the files, You can send it to me in a PM if you want. I think I might be able to locate the person who this wallet blongs to.

I'm interested in a .PGP file. I saw it on the picture and it was called BlueMatt.pgp and we know that the .pgp file is - a security key or digital signature file which can verify the user identity so I tend to believe the BlueMatt is the owner. He has a blog on bitcoin.ninja : https://bluematt.bitcoin.ninja/about/
There I found his Twitter and sent him a DM.

I tend to believe that he is the original owner of the hard drive, let's see what happens...

which pic you want ?
i forget what pic i but ?

The picture of the folder with all the wallet files.
There should be a file called bluematt.pgp or something like that in it.

thats all the pic i screenshot

Good honesty test

Did you try opening any of those wallet.dat's with a text editor and searching for the text "name"? Huh If so, did you find any addresses?

The first letter/number of any "name" records that you find in the wallet.dat's will give a good indication as to what coin the wallet.dat was used for.

You can see in this screenshot... all the "name" records start with "D" ("DMJH...","DRPY...","DJBB...","DQfQH..." etc), that indicates that it is a Dogecoin wallet.

It would also pay to check the "corrupted" wallet.dat's... it's possible that if they are for altcoins, that the developers may have made modifications that make their wallet.dat look "corrupted" to Bitcoin Core.

for what that VM ?
If the wallet you install contains malware, you won't infect your host system.

Or get a few new laptops, with 35 BTC and more to come that seems like a good investment.
i already have 3
one for bitcoin wallet core only

one for talking to you

one for saving all my files

You can dump the wallets with db-util and analyze the result to see to which coin(s) they belong.
If it's a corrupt wallet use the - R switch to aggressively salvage data from a possibly corrupt file.
See here: https://web.stanford.edu/class/cs276a/projects/docs/berkeleydb/utility/db_dump.html

See CoinMarketCap to find the right coin. I wouldn't trust most of the wallets, so use a VM.

for what that VM ?

oh... duh... the addresses were listed there! hahaha

Yeah, likely an altcoin wallet.dat... if you open that wallet.dat with a text editor and do a search for "name" you should find the addresses listed in their "native" format... the first character should hopefully give some indication of what coin it actually is

Hard to tell really... Until you've synced the blocks past the transaction date, it won't properly show as confirmed in the wallet.

Like we've said, goto the "Transactions" tab... right click on one of the Transactions... "Copy Transaction ID"... then search for that TransactionID in a blockexplorer like blockchair.com, blockcypher.com, btc.com, blockchain.com

If the transaction is found, then chances are they will turn out to be real in your wallet! Wink

Then it's just a matter of whether or not any other transactions have occurred since 2013 that have spent those funds.

My concern is that the transaction is "grey" and in [ ]'s which generally means that while the transaction is stored in the wallet.dat's history, it doesn't actually exist in the blockchain itself. This could be because the transaction was actually in an "orphaned" block and/or it was invalidated by a "doublespend" etc... in which case, you probably won't have access to those funds. Undecided

I would suggest that you go into the transaction list tab, right click that 300+BTC transaction and then copy the "TransactionID" and then check that transaction on a block explorer like blockchair.com.

If the transaction exists on the BTC chain, and those coins haven't been spent in any transaction after the date shown (25th Oct 2014), then there is a chance you may have 300 BTC. Congrats! Cheesy

If that Transaction does NOT appear on a BTC explorer, then there is a chance that the wallet.dat is actually an altcoin wallet.dat (ie. Litecoin or Dogecoin etc)... or it was an orphan block/doublespend situation. Sad

this is the second wallet

is that for real or what Huh?

is that mean im a milliner now  ?
I had to Google the word:
My concern is that the transaction is "grey" and in [ ]'s which generally means that while the transaction is stored in the wallet.dat's history, it doesn't actually exist in the blockchain itself.
My guess is he hasn't downloaded the blockchain up to 2014 yet.

If the transaction exists on the BTC chain, and those coins haven't been spent in any transaction after the date shown (25th Oct 2014), then there is a chance you may have 300 BTC. Congrats! Cheesy
The next question is: is there a password on the wallet.dat?
