As for betting on matches, I don't do it very often. Usually these are matches of the national team. Since my team's odds depend on the discipline and the quality of opponents, I don't have a favorite odds level. But the emotions are always greater when odd are higher, so I guess that's what I prefer.

One way of thinking would be that something that pays too little, but has way more chances of happening, is probably not as appealing to a gambler because the win wouldn't make too much a difference.

On the other hand, if the chances of happening are very low, and therefore the payout very high, a gambler might assume it's lost money, but in the event he actually wins, it might potentially be life changing.

The second scenario seems to me to be more attractive.

But whenever you put the money on high odds and win it , the feels much more great than when you win on a low odds ... that what makes me prefer to choose on a high odds bet over the low odds. Despite yeah nothing guarantee in gambling , i am now chasing for the thrill not only for the outcome , that's why the high odds fits me more.
Of course it is, the higher odds have higher risk too, so if you win on an underdog team, you're somewhat beating the house/operators. But difference sports will have difference chance to make an upset, in football honestly either favorite and underdog team have same chance to win, because there's nothing new if underdog win the match. Also in football the chance of the match ended as draw is higher to compared to other sports.

Let us assume that high odds start from 1.5 and above while low odds starts from 1.2 and below.

...
With that little difference, I don't weigh much choosing the higher odds as the favorite of many but I'd rather choose the team which I feel it will win. In many cases that lower odds wins and it was not called an accidental win, it is just how the balls roll, and sometimes luck.
It is somehow, higher odds gains more confidence from the crowd and most of the time I'd choose it but just to happen that they will lose. This means that it guarantees nothing in gambling.
Yeah it's often the low odds win you something and the high odds burst you out.

in my opinion low odds are not profitable in the long run, that's because even when the person wins many games, it is enough to lose a few games to be in loss, the ideal is to bet on odds above @1.60 because at least it is profitable in the long term. of course there are people who like to bet more on mult bets and with odds of @2.00 and for these people they can make profits quickly, in my case I prefer moderate odds but above @1.60 and also as I am not an expert so I don't win much

I specifically like football gambling. When I started to gamble, I go for high odds, but I was not that experienced and I lost a lot. I gained experience but I preferred to gamble on low odds. Only what this led me to is to play more and I noticed losses too. This is just a means someone can also become addicted because low odds will only want you to accumulate and bet more. If you bet more frequently than usual, regardless of the odd, be it high or low, loss is inevitable, it is guaranteed.

I play less often unlike before, I reduced the money I am using to bet, emotions gone and I win than before. How about you people, are you high odd punter or low odd. Can you also tell us your experience? At you losing or you make profit from the odds you are taking?

For me, the rule is very simple and I follow it almost every time I bet on sports events.
If I bet on one match then I often choose high odds. However, if I make a composition of many sports events, then most often I choose low odds and hope that there will be more wins and they will accumulate into a larger win.

I prefer teams with high odds in football bets.

I bet for fun, not money.
That's why I always prefer surprise suits.

5 years ago, official local betting offices in Turkey were giving about 55 odds for a 4-2 score. (These rates are no longer valid, they reduced it to around 20-30.)

I regularly played 4-2 scores every week in the matches where I predicted that there would be a lot of goals. (Martingale)
And at the end of 2 years, I gained 3x.
Same as this I used to play high odds on tennis. This was years back when the price is ethereum was $200. I don't remember the players into the match, but it was a match that delayed between two player and the ranks differ alot. Due to some technical reasons the match got postponed after completion of one set. This increased the odds and I placed @10.1, and left it. I didn't remember that I've placed a bet. To my surprise the match got won. From there I used to place bet on high odds.

If we can play both as variation in our gambling session, why need to choose one of them.
As my experience, there is a time when I play with low odds and there is also a time when I play with high odds.
It depends on my mood on which odds to play and depends on my purpose.
The most important thing for me is that as long as I know what I'm  going to play and the risk.

You shouldn't be looking at the odds period. High odds or low odds, a win is not guaranteed. Do your research on the game you plan on betting. Have the opponents ever faced each other? What were the previous outcomes? What were the most recent results? What is the weather gonna be that day? How does a specific team play in weather if its gonna be bad? Is the game indoors? ETC.

There are all kinds of things to consider when gambling. It's best to make an educated wager vs just looking at the odds.
It's more worth considering if you do mind off these factors to be mind of rather than making yourself mindful about the odds because there are really some factors which could really affect the outcome on least expected and it's true that even if it's high odds or low odds type of game won't really be assuring about outcome precision.Dont stress yourself on how much you would gonna win by just staring on those numbers but rather stick into those considerations before making step further.

I'm not a gambler, I can play poker sometimes, but I have a few friends who are into football betting. And I think they all end up losing more than they bet. That is, their mathematical expectation has been wrong more often than not. So I realized that it doesn't matter if the odds are high or low. I guess you have to be a great professional to be able to beat the casino.

Sports is a different matter, much harder to look at gambler wagering samples, in a lifetime a sports betting for me maybe hits thousands of bets, while dice I probably played half a billion bets lol.
Although many people think that dice is a game that doesn't make sense because it only relies on luck, I think many people also like it. Another game that may be the same is slots, so dice and slots are two popular games that are most liked by gamblers in general.

It's true that sports betting is a different matter, but it seems like it would be more realistic and fun to have a good experience in this game. The probability level in sports betting is much better in my opinion compared to slots and dice but these are my assumptions which may differ from yours.
While I am not a fan of dice or slots that does not mean that I cannot see their appeal, casino games like sport bets can be very intimidating for the average gambler as the number of bets that you can make on each match is different and the odds are different as well, this means that unless you have a decent understanding of the odds most likely you will not know what you are doing, however slots and dice are two games which are very simple and which are more friendly towards the newbies so it is understandable they like them.

Just going with the low odds but if the high odds to bet for is a match that I know that it's something worth it to take a try, I'll do it.
But most of the time, it's better to just go with a higher chance with the lower odds. If not playing for yolo then it's much better to bet safely and you don't have any contest to make just for you to take higher risk and if you know that it's not worth betting for.
Although I'm not scared to go for higher odds, I just want to make sure that I know the match is and it's likely that there's a likely that the one I'll bet for that high odd is likely to win.

betting in high or low odds indeed depend on a particular sports. if your guts is saying this team has very high chance of winning despite being underdog, you can go for it. because the truth is, bookies are not right all the time. there were so many underdogs that came as winners. it means, bookies sometimes don't get the whole picture as well. because we won't know the true caliber of the team or athlete up until when they are inside the ring or arena or field.
This happens sometimes and you can't really ignore them. Ask yourself if the money you'll bet on that high is the best decision, just take it as something that will never come back.
The bookies are just placing based on what they see and if you see an advantage and you've gathered data and info on which is likely going to be the winner of that match with good odds then bet for it.

In principle, you can gamble well with both strategies. It just depends on what you want to achieve with gambling. There are players who want to take little risk with their bets, and then they bet low on higher odds. There are also players who want to take little risk in the odds and who then bet higher amounts at odds of 1.05, for example. You can have a lot of fun with that, but if things go wrong you will also lose your entire stake.

True, losses will always be inevitable but the good thing is your losses are not that totally huge unlike if you decide to continue betting for high odds. However, for me my betting usually differs when it comes to the kind of game. I end up betting for high odds if i think the game will favor for me since i am more knowledgeable about it. But for matches that i am not sure of, not that fanatic, i just try betting on low odds since i won't be hurt anyway if i lose the bet.

Well, if he focused more on dice over sports betting, his number of bets will be much higher than the other one but if he focused on sports betting then, it's the one that can get a higher number of bets.

Those that think that dice game is only a game of luck are maybe not a true player of this game but avid fans knows that it can be both (a game of luck and at the same time a game of skill). In fact starts like martingale did originated on this game and there's also dice bots which you can use to create different strategies but for a slot game, I don't know but I think this is the real one that is only based on luck and this is a great source of pure entertainment.

If you can afford to lose from betting high odds, i guess that's what is more important. But for me, i mostly go for low odds when i think the game is something i'm not really an expert and that anytime i know i will lose. But for some games that i think i have an edge like bastketball, betting in high odds is what i'm always fond of. Although i'm not excuse from losses but i see myself winning more than losing my funds every time i gamble.

I am a firm believer that gambling is addictive. That's why I avoid high rates that involve risks. Thus i take care to protect my brain and mental health. Because the higher the risk, the higher the return. If you win money on a risky bet, you are more likely to go bankrupt on your next bet. Betting step by step and with small odds is better for my mental health.
I will rather try as much as possible not to get addicted even if the odds are so tempting, I have been a fan of low odds but in most cases, the outcome of the game doesn't seem entirely accurate and you might end up pilling up several games with low odds. But with high odds your chances of losing may be wide but your winning may be huge if the game come through.
