Let us assume that high odds start from 1.5 and above while low odds starts from 1.2 and below.

I play less often unlike before, I reduced the money I am using to bet, emotions gone and I win than before. How about you people, are you high odd punter or low odd. Can you also tell us your experience? At you losing or you make profit from the odds you are taking?

@1.5 odds for me is not worth the risks in most cases. I considered it as low odds and there are only a few times I'm risking money for @1.5 if I see a match that really looked high chance for me to win. I've shared a bet slip before or I think screenshot, risking decent capital for a @1.5 odds because I'm really sure that I will hit it. I will just repeat it again based on what I think about the match.

For @1.2 below, even if the winning percentage is high here, I will not consider placing a bet for this as honestly, it's more painful to lose on that odds compare to risking at an actual high odds. When picking high odds, I literally go with a high odds like a minimum over @3 or @4. I already risking my money here so why should I still be in a safe bet. Smiley

It turns out that because of people who prefer to bet on favorites, the odds are always distorted in their favor and it makes sense to bet only on underdogs. But I remember that someone did a study that if we bet only on the favorites or only on the underdogs, then we lose the same percentage on average. Does this really mean that bookmakers have learned how to accurately determine the probability of outcomes in games?

I don't understand how bookies do it. but surely they have done research to determine this. After all, gambling is a business for all bookmakers. So, there must be an analysis that has been done so that they do not lose. Sorry I can't speculate on this, because it's beyond my knowledge. Maybe, if the reference is still there, you can share it here, so members can also read how these odds can give the same average.

I'm one of the people who got puzzled how does the bookies come up with those odds when there are like tons of sports they have on their website.
So, my assumption to this is that in every sport they have this specific person who's job is to study analyze and get news around that specific sport to get an accurate odds.

Anyways, I always prefer to put a bet on the favourite, but sometimes you'll get  attracted by the odds the bookies offers to the underdogs.

Honestly, i prefer low odd, like you, ive experienced a lot of losses playing high odd before because in lacked the knowledge of how odds can determine my chances of winning, but when i got to know that high odds reduces my chances of winning but increases the amount that can be won at a single bet while low odd increases my chances of winning but lowers the amount i can win on a single bet at a time, Not being a too greedy person(cus we all sometimes get greedy in some way or the other Grin), i decided to start playing with low odds though this makes me want to play more and more in other to accumulate enough money that i can withdraw which sometimes i still end up loosing a lion share of it, its still better than loosing a huge sum of money in just a single bet.

In my own little experience in football betting, the odds are a pointer to the strength of the team and the weaker clubs are always given the highest odds so in most cases choosing a high odds to .bet is purely based on luck.
Bookmakers are doing business and its just normal that they would really be able to  differentiate which one is the favorites and which one is the underdog on where betting odds would
neither be low or high depending on certain team interest and preference on the community. Most of the time people do really stick on the money line even though its obviously those
odds arent really that great plus having those chances or odds of upsets which make things even more harder to go all in.There are some instances on which you could
consider on betting underdogs and this is where self analysis would vary into each bettor.

I can't answer your question about which odds do I prefer because in sportsbook gambling I can't bet by just looking at odds, indeed sometimes if I'm not in the mood to gamble I choose lowest odds and hope be sure win, but lose. I often follow people's bets on an some site, they often choose low odds and I tried it. Without analysis and without personal thought, as a result they lost and I lost too, point I can take in my case it is that sportsbook gambling is not just about favorite odds.

Multiple odds accumulation with low odds such as 1.5 games and this is bad because you are being forced to carry multiple games in a roll just so that your total odds will be significant enough to give you a big amount on winning, let say you want to place the total bet amount to $3 and accumulating multiple odds will limit your chances of losing.

So it's better to pick a few sure games that have an 89% tendency of winning but you must be well aware that football is highly unpredictable but you can easily analyze the games through clubs' previous performance.

89% can easily be spotted from the odds alone. There is always a favorite team and most of the time it starts with plus sign (+) like +120 for team that has high chance of winning.

When you have no idea who to bet on because its not your sports for instance, picking the favorite team is the smartest but wins not as much money.

Reputation first.
Let us assume that high odds start from 1.5 and above while low odds starts from 1.2 and below.

I specifically like football gambling. When I started to gamble, I go for high odds, but I was not that experienced and I lost a lot. I gained experience but I preferred to gamble on low odds. Only what this led me to is to play more and I noticed losses too. This is just a means someone can also become addicted because low odds will only want you to accumulate and bet more. If you bet more frequently than usual, regardless of the odd, be it high or low, loss is inevitable, it is guaranteed.

I play less often unlike before, I reduced the money I am using to bet, emotions gone and I win than before. How about you people, are you high odd punter or low odd. Can you also tell us your experience? At you losing or you make profit from the odds you are taking?

Unless you play something of impossible, it isn't correct to follow odds; follow your instinct, read stats and be informed about the match that you're going to bet about, if you do this, maybe your success will be better than

look only at the stats. I usually anyway play at the odds between 1.5 and 2.5.

With this sports gambling we there are some people make a strategy with this which is the changing before the game really starts some which is making some sort of manipulation with the number of betters but again it is sports bet anything can happen while in the game so it is all about the players/teams thing if they will win the game but most people make a sure profit with the low odds because of course tons of people will make a safe bet of it but in the world of sports again anything can happen that's why some of the players make a YOLO bet means they make a huge risk with the higher odds this always happen into the underdog games.

When there is a change that occurs in the odds that we usually use to make easy profits to get a win then you can try playing at other gambling places and only people who have a very large amount of money dare to take risks, maybe that should be done for the first time trying various positions and after getting a good position, you can immediately use a larger amount of capital than before.

I have not really put too much attention to whether or not I prefer low odds or high odds but taking into account I am kind of conservative with my bets I suppose I am conservative as well when picking the one I think will win at a sport match, however I also try to look for value, I look at the odds and if I think the odds have been distorted by the public support to one side then I will take the risk and bet on the other team or player as the odds are simply too good to pass up.

Before the pandemic I used to just bet on both high and low odds depending on my mood and confidence. But this time, I am betting in a more mature and responsible approach. I am lowering my bets and I can sleep without a single bet. Now it really depends on the sport I am betting although most of my bets are around 2.0.

My favorite betting sport is basketball and I always prefer my odds to be around 2.0 so I usually use spreads.

In boxing, UFC, DOTA 2 and soccer I just mostly use the money lines although I prefer not to bet on very low odds like 1.30 and below.

I prefer to play more rounds with lower risk just for fun. I know the wins are not that high but if you like to play to waste some time it's a better option. I know people who do the opposite and usually put everything in a single bet and if they win they're happy for the rest of the day and if they lose they come back another day. I'm too nervous for that LOL and I'd probably spend the rest of the day drinking tea to calm myself down LOL

Depends on the team and the sports I guess, some higher odds betting can be more profitable same thing with the lower odds.
I personally prefer the lower odds sometimes since It doesn't require much of analysis though of course you should be more aware about the possible profit you can get on lower odds, better not to expect that much since there's still no guarantee of winning here. Lower odds might be a waste of time and money to some, but we all have different approach in betting here, it's good to have your own stable strategy at least to maximize the odds.

When I was still new in sports betting, I always think that low odds would make me profitable in the long run, but after weeks of the experiment, I come up to the conclusion that betting based on odds alone does not make you a smart bettor. The thing is, if you keep betting on low odds, that will make you stupid because you will not analyze anymore, you don't consider the stats and hence you will not be able to apply if you see some value on the odds available.

I choose neither of them as it is because of them that I have migrated from sport betting gambler to slot machine player. The fact is simple one time or better several times I have lost 1.15 odd bets the same as I have lost odds of over 1.5 and over 2 not seeing any difference.Since it should have a difference as most of the times the 1.15 odds should be winners I decided to quit from now almost 2 years or more and only play the money allocated for sport betting in different slot machines.I feel great now that I only play rarely sport betting because I used to become furious anytime I would lose a 1.15 odd bet.

I would choose the higher odds which is 1.50, but in real life, I don't usually bet on odds lower than 1.80 because I feel like I'm not getting the value of my winning. Just imagine, if I would always get the odds of like 1.80, that means I will give 20% of my winning to the bookies which I would never benefit in the long run. Also, bear in mind that 1.80 odds does not give you more than 50% chance of winning.

In sports, choosing low or high odds is hard choice, but we can't just follow the name of the team. The truth is, we need to see the team performance, players and others. As mentioned by @YOSHIE, the team's analysis can determine the possibility of winning or not. Low odds will generally be chosen by most people, because they see the big name of the club itself, and fill it with confidence if this team will be the winner, but cos bad performance, they lose. For example between MU vs Everton, surely the odds for MU will be lower, because the probability of winning is high, so people will agree that MU will win. In fact, MU's condition is inconsistent, so, the results of the match they actually lose or draw. So, makes an analisys before put your bet, to makes your betting get better chance too.

It turns out that because of people who prefer to bet on favorites, the odds are always distorted in their favor and it makes sense to bet only on underdogs.
