Can someone please explain the recent price development? Looking at all the effort put in CGB lately by the CGB core team and community i don't see why the volume/price is way to low (are the strong hands holding because of POS?)...

Tough to say... However, work continues  Wink

We will be launching some exciting new marketing campaigns in the next couple of weeks to aid in CGB's exposure and will have an update on the new client (major overhaul) in the coming weeks. May is shaping up to be an exciting month and we will continue to build on the established groundwork throughout June leading up to a celebration of CGB's first birthday on June 27th! We have less than 8 weeks until the birthday bash and lots of fun planned so grab a seat and join in!

We need a whole lot more votings guys, only a few people do so every day, at this pace it will take about 2 years to get listed on Mintpal.

You can vote 5 times each hour if you are logged in.

https://www.mintpal.com/voting

The alternative is pay for votes, approx. 3.5 BTC will make it half a year, 5 BTC makes it 3 months. Question is, how much will our coins rise in value due to being listed there, would it be a viable investment? This is the BTC address to payvote: 1P1NP7nM6T68t9i9D4d1JJHZyFX4SNfhKv
Each 0.00020000 BTC received will count for 1 vote.

I don't think it gives any value. There are so many coins there . most junk.  Stick to the free votes.

It looks like I've finally got my shares from cgb.minar.cc so I think I'll have another whole CGB to my name.  I'm such a small fish but I enjoy the learning experience mainly.   Just wanted to rebump a question from earlier in the thread, was there really a moment in which CGB was worth .5BTC or was someone pulling my chain?  I really gotta know.

Nah it never was that high. 0.00581 BTC is highest ever I think. I do think CGB will go beyond this in 2014.

CGB Core Team Weekly Update – May 1, 2014

Please also see the Reddit post for further discussion.

This is planned to be a relatively quick update. We are happy to announce CGB trading pairs launched at Comkort exchange. The CGB News Beat contest winners have also been announced. Congratulations to paulmaritz for his amazing 1st place entry, destro316 for an excellent approach to the investor (2nd place), and to flagin for a very bold assessment of the investment landscape for CGB.

For those of you who have been mining over at hasher.ca, CGB has been added to the Multipool address at http://www.hasher.ca. CGB funds should be withdrawn from the old pool at http://cgb.hasher.ca. There is not too much other news within the CGB Core Team as it has been a pretty quiet week with many time constraints. We hope to have more community participate in the irc channel and will be publishing logs for the community to stay informed on developments. Community members who wish to contribute are encouraged to go back through previous weekly updates, Reddit posts, or our community page on the CGB website to get some ideas!

Hey CGB'ers,

We've open up a new pool. Our old one (http://cgb.hasher.ca) is still up (no stratum running) to allow miners some time to withdraw their CGB.

Our new pool is: http://www.hasher.ca

Low fee PROP reward system
DDoS Protected
High Performance Backend
Simple setup and usage
Auto ProfitSwitching Ports (Coming Soon)

To mine:

Username: your CGB wallet address
Password: anything
URL (vardiff): stratum+tcp://stratum.hasher.ca:3364

Cheers and Happy Hashing!

Great, thank you crackfoo for your support!

By the way, is there a comprehensive list of cryptocurrency exchanges listed anywhere?  I'd love to take a look at it.  If it were sorted by volume or some other metric, even better.

Because every exchange likes to trade DOGE, that's a good guide to find. And sorted by volume too.

Here's another on their new site, but not all trade much altcoins:

Nice man, thanks for the links.

On mining, I did some mining at cgb.minar.cc but the site is currently having problems processing payments, so I'm owed for what I figure is close to 1cgb but I'm waiting on admin to figure it out.  The web interface is currently in 'maintainance mode', which is probably a good sign, idk.

Coinpayments will continue under new management so a lot of merchants can start or continue to easily accept CGB.
I expect a lot more merchants will register to use this service in coming months with new energy to promote it.

CGB removed from voting on Comkort, meaning it will very soon be listed to trade.

Nice job, all who voted and/or donated, Thanks.

https://comkort.com

I suggest CGB traders to send some coins to the latest exchanges to get some volume going and support buy/sell orders. If there's no volume we risk delistment.
It may be a good opportunity for some daytrading profits, so try them out.

Awesome news!! And excellent points BTCat.

Thanks, I'll double check on cryptsy, I cant recall which exchange I looked at recently where there was literally no volume.

Probably Allcrypt.

or Bittrex

Don't yet have an account on bittrex, I'll be sure to check it out though.
