Which country are these HitBTC scammers really based in?

As explained above here’s the non public ɢᴘꜱ coordinate of the office used once to twice a month by the primary team/directors −33.436483, −70.645214 650.5m above see level which tells you where to go in the building. That’s 6Km away from their stated representative office.

Though by law they are in Hong Kong (the other side of the ocean), but you’ll find only a lawyer managing hundreds shell company’s and a post box.

Thank you for your post.

I was asking if any users knew where they really were based.

Sure they use a mailing address to through people off the scent but keeping meta data from the images aside does anybody know which city they really operate out of or where the "team" reside?

If even John McAfee was caught by the police by leaving ɢᴘꜱ data inside a picture shot through an iPhone4s, why couldn’t Hitʙᴛᴄ does the same thing ? Notice how the business hours of the posts of Hitʙᴛᴄ match those from the country of the picture (which isn’t Hong Kong).
Though because of the consequences of the policies of the new president of the country, I doubt you’ll have the freedom to move safely once there (which might be the real problem) : security in the city is now managed directly by the army (no I’m not talking about Hong Kong just google the coordinates).

I suppose they work from Internet most the time and they meet only if needed (typical for companies renting coworking at least in my country). So their workplace is really based at the place of the picture.

I think they have legally secured the steps to only have Hong Kong as applicable law instead of their place of work, so the only thing legal you’ll be able to do is to ask an answer on your tickets if they don’t have answers like in my case while many of us have already responds from support which means they will get nothing by coming there.

About the servers, then I suppose that they are managed completely remotely which means there are no point at going to London to see them and the place were they are stored will definitely have wardens preventing you from coming.

For all those whose accounts funds are locked for over three months without support awaiting a response during a month and having attempted to reach them through [email protected] and [email protected] multiple time without receiving a response or whose said actions didn’t results in a reply about what’s happening in tickets, please support this : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;flag=894

Wasn’t believing this until they locked my account for the third time last week leaving my funds being locked. And that time no new reply to any support tickets whoever they are assigned to ! They locked 200Zcash worthing over $25,000 at that time without the ability to sell and of course, now they worth far much less (and which I still can’t withdraw).

Of course the contact and postal address listed are just all empty or simple post box. Sending to the e‑mails to the stated e‑mails address leads absolutely no responses. The same might be true for their stated sever location in London where they might just be renting space for them.

One of their stated address is :
Av Vitacura 2969,
Las Condes,
Región Metropolitana, Chile

When someone imagine something, it’s often based on the existing.

So let’s take a look at the following picture from their website :

It doesn’t feel that much natural isn’t it ? Just take a look how Nescafé is written on the image… If wee look into file properties in Windows, we can see it was created using Windows Photo Editor 10.0.10011.16384 (nice we even have the exact Windows build being used since this is the program replacing the now removed ᴍꜱpaint).

Looks better ! From there we can recognize a Microsoft Word Document opened in Microsoft word. Program Code for Hitbtc, and the Hitbtc Official blog which tells us the image is almost definitely legit (if not I wonder were they could find it).

But is the picture metadata legit ? They should be aware of the consequences of leaving them inside the file right ? Well, to answer this question, each time I see a photograph on the Internet, I’m thinking to this one, or rather it’s case (if you don’t understand, click the link on the picture) :
Grin
So the answer is likely to be yes. Which with Wi-fi and ɢᴘꜱ/ɢʟᴏɴᴀꜱꜱ systems, location is even more precise these days which is useful in building environment. So this is getting :
−33.436483, −70.645214 650.5m above see level which is 6Km away from the previous address. But this is better since we know at which in the building.

Based on my research, this appear to be a coworking office which is used by different companies according to the schedule. And having using visiting such places often, I do confirm this looks a similar way of the picture rather than a conventional workplace. But what is important here (or at least in my country) this is the kind of place where access isn’t restricted, so when they come (maybe once or twice a month), we should have access to peoples who can act on hour accounts or at least delete them instead of not giving us a clue about what’s happening. Such places don’t have phone numbers (instead everyone use their mobile phone).

If the metadata is true, the photo was shot in march 2017, so if they have moved, there is likely someone still there to know where. Also please pay attention to the matching business hours where they perform their posts.

99% exchanges does not have a physical address thats why it easy for them to lock your fund.
But here we have such physical address. The John McAffee way !

I so much detest this exchange,  their customer service is nothing to write home about,  I misplaced my cellphone around May this year and I discovered that my account details with Hibtc has been compromised,  they didn't respond on time,  I just had to forget about having an account with them,

Since September 19, your support from time to time sends me new reasons why you stole my 15 bucks.

Could you please provide us with a ticket number? Thanks in advance.

Dear erikalui, our team adjusts the withdrawal fees according to the market conditions. 707 CCT tokens are worth less than 2 USD at the current moment. Please keep in mind that HitBTC has always had a flat withdrawal fee structure that doesn’t depend on the number of funds withdrawn.

That means I'll never be able to withdraw the tokens as CCT is no longer trading on your exchange? Also, when other exchanges do not set such conditions, why hitbtc wants fee in fiat? You should charge a fee that's used for sending the tokens and not a fee in fiat when the altcoin market is always volatile. The tokens were worth $1200 last year and dropped after that.

You don't even want to list the token again and I can't withdraw them ever now.

How am I then supposed to withdraw my tokens from your exchange? I got 471 CCT tokens which have a withdrawal fee of 707 tokens and these tokens are not even trading on your exchange anymore. I also have FLP which require 915 tokens as a withdrawal fee. These fee are not only ridiculous but a punishment of me depositing on your exchange. The network never requires you to have 10k tokens so that cannot be your excuse for setting such a high fee. You are discouraging users by setting such a high limit.

We're sorry that our withdrawal fee structure doesn't work for some of the users. It is worth mentioning, though, that our fees are flat and do not depend on the number of funds you're trying to withdraw. Withdrawal fees are being adjusted according to the market situation.

Shame on you. This is the first time you post here since 27th August 2019 and claim you will look in to every case but you answer NO complaints here.

You post here after a 1.5 month absence stating the same nonsense you posted the last time you returned from your absence.

Why as soon as I login on the exchange I get a message asking for a deposit? Why do some pairs have extra zeros? Why does the exchange lag on a fairly new smartphone? And I’m not even asking why such high withdrawal fees, I want to ask: why is this exchange "The most advanced"?
Some of the pairs have different lot sizes to allow trading in a smaller size. This was made as a part of our effort to keep them in-line with market standards by popular demand, you can find more information on that here:
https://blog.hitbtc.com/hitbtc-is-updating-its-lot-size/
We're sorry you experience poor performance on your device. You can reach out to the support team right here anytime: https://support.hitbtc.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

Noone should use this exchange. Last year they stolen 9 bitcoin from me worth $92000 I sent all papers, bank account, notorized paper , they even ask me  to send documents of the person that sell me bitcoin.
Could you please provide us with your ticket number? We need it to find your case in the system.
