I wanted to ask about Bisq.

Bisq is an open source platform that enables P2P asset exchange, as far as I know they do not currently list HBN, but they do clearly state the methods and requirements for asset listing.  They state that that if you commit the code and tests to list a new coin as a single commit, then they will accept this unless its controversial. There are a few other requirements, but its clear HBN complies with those already.  (Need a block explorer, must not be an ICO, ticker must not clash with other coins, etc.) A downside is that all assets must be exchanged against Bitcoin, but we could live with that I think.

I don't think this would be hard to do. Of course a p2p exchange is not as slick to use as a mainstream exchange, but its a good deal more secure since assets remain under owner control at all times. (Well, nearly, as far as I can see).

I'd like to know if anyone has tried this already, and if anyone thinks this is a good idea?

I feel that we should be exploring other exchange options as well, and wonder if there are other ideas floating around.

looks beautiful but seems Tranz forked from HBN for a while lol

I still have the hope that he hasn't disappeared completely and simply has no time at the moment. Hopefully he will support the project again soon.   Cool

Its a tricky think with Tranz , he once left the coin for two years without any notice... reminds me Satoshi Nakamoto .

If we can manage to get some excited cryptocoder on board it would be the best. But this was told already

It has been there since July , Since then I ping them 3 times ... and answer is still no , we did not consider adding this coin yet.  No optimism with Freiexchange .
But at least they respond ..

That doesn't sound so good. I was probably too optimistic that we could win FreiExchange as a new exchange for HoboNickels. There is still no sign of life from Tranz and somehow everything is not so good right now.  Sad

I also asked again at FreiExchange if they can list HoboNickels. The answer was that HoboNickels is on there list of coins to review. Hopefully they'll decide to list HoboNickels. Maybe it helps if more people create a ticket there and ask to list HoboNickels.  Wink

Hell of the list ! retrieved from coingecko isnt it? https://www.coingecko.com/en/exchanges .

I made two updates to that ..

It would be great to get to some even very minor exchange which is API enabled. I guess it would solve the problem why we disappeared from coinmarketcap and other aggregators

Thanks panp2 for the contribution! I have marked the row in orange.
Yes, the list was retrieved from coingecko.
The exchange on the top have the most volume and maybe users.
We should focus on every exchange as well.

Can someone compile a list of available exchanges and if anyone has submitted application?

Hi Hobos

I've compiled an google sheet with existing exchanges to have centrally updated our exchange requests.
Please extend the sheet, if there is a missing exchange you have applied HoboNickels for listing.
Do not hesistate to PM me, when the sheet has to be reranged.

It would be good if Tranz gave a sign of life. Hopefully everything's okay with him. He hasn't been online for a few days.  Sad

I think what says a lot is HBNfund  , people are now staking into this adress but this adress itself is off and not staking for 2 months.
I put a lot of my own HBN into that and expected this will be on and slowly adding up by staking .
https://chainz.cryptoid.info/hbn/address.dws?EhbNfund4PrRFLHMxsnbGLhP25hizJGHEE.htm .

OK right, that would make sense.

Who is maintaining it? Tranz?

I disagree, if there is no liquidity , what would be the incentive to keep interest in the coin?  Interest will go to zero , and blockchain will be kept just by few romantic stakers for nothing.
Anyway Tranz doesnt have much time longterm ( completely off for 2 years , and since than just a disaster recovery of  blockchain) . Apart of that nothing really happen to HBN since 2014.
I had a hope and gave a hand and even own fiat money for good things which support the coin . But now this hope is on minimum level

That's fine you make some good points but from my perspective it's a little different.

Unless they can show me some competence in running an exchange and staking pool none of my money of coins will ever go there.
In effect there is no HBN exchange I'm willing to use.

It's true we can't choose an exchange to list HBN. Bigger problem is we can't choose who lists HBN.
We can vote with our business though.

I now find I am unable to rotate the market and rebuy stakes sold at higher prices.
Pity as I still can with all my other POS coins.

I'm also happy to be a romantic staker. Someone will thank us romantics one day Smiley
