use coin control to combine blocks to optimal size
http://wiki.hobonickels.info/index.php?title=Coin_Control

coin-days = coin-age * block size
coin-days used in calculations to prioritize coins ready to stake

current netstakeweight = 177638.08689617

Whatsup with stakepower? i made a 2nd wallet and ive had nickels in there for more then 10 days and no stake Sad. How does it work exactly? Ive had my wallet open the entire time only closed it for pc resets once every couple days or so. its been like 15 days and ive got about 50 nickels or so that should have showed something by now? I made sure to make the 2nd wallet like you had suggested but no stake.  Am i just not keeping up and this is a known problem? if so Im sorry for kicking a dead horse but whatsup with stake? Tongue

dude in my experience 10 day staking is looonnnnng gone. I think way too many people are staking now for that to occur. Most of my POS-mined hobonickels have taken 30-40 days. Maybe I'm doing something wrong but that has been my experience, and I leave the wallet open 24x7.

I'm not saying this as a bad thing, I think it's a sign of the coin having matured past the make-a-quick-profit-and-dump-your-coins stage that many altcoins struggle to get past. The announcement page does state that as more people do POS, the reward and/or timeframe to receive a reward, will change.

why when i run the wallet on mac i get lot of orphans on stake but on windows not many?

The current mac wallet does create more orphans. My belief is that the efficiency of staking on the mac is reduced and it takes longer for the block to get out of the kernel. My suggestion is to combine blocks on the Mac client and have fewer larger blocks competing for stake. This should reduce the amount of orphans.

I'll continue to look at ways to improve this.

Thanks

Export/Import wallet added to Gui, plus other changes.  1.3.5.0 beta version is available as well.

Just wanted to pop in and let the HBN community know that I'm behind it and I want to help where i can.

Has anyone ever tried to adapt p2pool to HBN? I was thinking of looking at the NVC p2pool fork an having a go, but didn't want to reinvent the wheel.

Thanks StakeHunter.  There were a few that tried to run a p2p pool. For some reason all of the blocks generated from the pool were rejected, not sure why.

I'd guess the new NVC p2pool should work. If you do want to give it a shot, let me know.

Thanks niceman. The site looks great.

How about to add http://www.CoinMine.PW to the second post with pools list?

Done. We'll get it added to the website and CCT as well.

Thanks for the info!
Do these go away from my wallet or will they stay there for ever?

They stay in your wallet. The upcoming version of the HBN client (v1.4) will contain an RPC command (repairwallet) that will remove orphans. I do not believe it removes orphans right now, but I could be wrong.

What are these strange non accepted PoS transactions?

For example:

Wallet shows amount of 0.057496 and here are the transaction details:

Status: 0/unconfirmed
Date: 21.2.2014 18:17
Debit: 0.00 HOBO
Net amount: -1.636009 HOBO
Transaction ID: 672264c32fa7ed944ce2edb6d9cd7af988759300bf6ef24b140f4752f7574083

Generated coins must mature 25 blocks before they can be spent. When you generated this block, it was broadcast to the network to be added to the block chain. If it fails to get into the chain, its state will change to "not accepted" and it won't be spendable. This may occasionally happen if another node generates a block within a few seconds of yours.

That is called an orphan.  Just leave your coins aging and it will try and generate another PoS block.  See this wiki page for a bit more information http://wiki.hobonickels.info/index.php?title=Orphan
