HODL is the best thing to do if you want to earn more profits just wait for the price will rise up.
I had the same mistake .I lost more than I expected because of my impatience . Now I learned a lot,it's experience .
I'm really disappointed with myself now because of Verge. Way back June 2017, I bought $200 worth of XVG and I sold it last week a day before the pump happened. It could be worth more than $5k now if I just HODL. 
Well, I need to move on and learn from this mistakes. This will be a lesson for me to have patience and wait for the right time to sell my coins. The reason why I sold it was because I need more funds to buy another coin. I'm happy with the coin I bought because I can now see that it is now starting to pump. Maybe, I'm just half disappointed every time I'm seeing the current value of Verge. I bought some XVG again and will surely hold it this time. 
I hope that this experience of mine can be a good example for everyone especially the newbies in this community.

I think that keeping in the long term is a good choice if you are confident in a coin or a token. I plan to take the Ethereum for at least a year.
If you decide to hold, you should do a thorough research of the coin you are going to hold.

HODL of coins is a very good decision, but the confusion comes in as to when is the right time to sell the coins. You can sell then it will just rise up after a few days. An advice is to HODL your coins especially the good ones for a long time.
On this occasion, I will give you very valuable advice. If you are 100% sure of the project, then you must buy a coin and forget about it for a couple of years. If the idea of the project is really innovative, then the coin will bring you a glorious profit.
You cannot regret it because what happened cannot happen again and because you have also learned valuable lessons. it is very difficult to know when is the right time to sell. I also admit that price movements on cryptocurrency are very unpredictable.
Regret is useless. No one knows where the price is going for sure. You made your decision. You are in profit so why regret. Be happy for the profit and find another chance to get more of it.

For me it is true that holding is very important strategy because holding our coin for long term can help us to make a lot of money and we should consider to hold for long term because the prices of all the coin that have a future can really grow on the right time.

that's right is better to hold up to the price you want, if holding don't forget to always check the price so as not to lag behind good price,no need to wait until a year old because we only need to hold up the price as we want is enough.
Krypto can't stand people who just don't have the patience . It is worth keeping your coins as long as possible .

I'm down 45-50% on original investments, but I am actually feeling okay as I have DCA'ed the whole way down, and I have moved around funds so that my key holds are in projects I believe in.

Not keep the current coin too, as you do not want . But if you are confident in it ,you should keep to the victory .
