Very useful poll. It clearly shows what the major community will do. I prefer to agree with public opinion and keep BTC to get free coins as it was at this summer.
I have been holding bitcoin all along and it will never be wrong. What is the worst case that can happen when you hold bitcoin? In the case that bitcoin price fall after the fork, the alt coin that people are holding will also suffer a dip. These alt coins are correlated to bitcoin. However, there are some alt coins will able to tank more than bitcoin so that can be a better option like ltc. But you will still have an extra coin now to reduce your losses.
I totally agree with you mate. I do not even see the scenario with bitcoin being the worst case since eventually it will still come back with a win even if it takes a while which I don’t really see the possibility of it even after the fork. The rate at which the alts have gotten pretty bad in itself is really not good, and it is unpredictable what becomes of them even before the fork, so safest way is to stick with the bitcoin until the cloud becomes clear. 
I think both would be the right thing to do during hard fork or days before hard fork, because of you hold on to your BTC then your chances of getting a free coin would be awesome right? And buying altcoins at the same time because most altcoins would likely be on sale
I don't think i'm smart enough to fully understand right now but i'd spread myself over a few very potentially stable and promising looking Alts.

How long do you guys think alts will stay in red? I want to buy but I am a week away from being able to do so. I always miss the good sales. 
well I have some bitcoin but I am so pissed off by those forks. They are just printing money and people fall for it, common guys! I hope this will be the last fork of bitcoin because it is ridiculous!
I think both strategies have the right to life, but it's not worthwhile to merge alts right now just for the sake of fork. Most likely, some exchanges will also double the account, but I doubt that the second time there will be such a speculative price increase, and the coin cut does not sound so good. In general, I am for sobriety thoughts and clarity of mind. Do not make unambiguous decisions.
If you have more than 1btc, then my suggestion is Hold. But if you have less than 1btc, then buy alt coin, you will make profit out of this mess, once it's done.
I'm always for holding btc. But when there is blood in the altcoin streets..might be wise to buy some as well.
I think with the rising bitcoin prices its would be worthwhile to try and hold longer for better bitcoin prices and also buy some altcoins as bitcoin powers up in value and get the alts cheaper.
I will just hold my Bitcoin like I did for years and see what the outcome of fork will be.

Both, hold btc and buy altcoins sure if you can. If you will buy less than 2-3 bitcoin for the fork, it will not be profitable. Instead of this buy altcoins they are very cheap now.
For me! I used two way! Hold BTC COIN AND BUY some altcoin 
I'm buying the altcoins. Now the market is down. Now, if you hold a month to buy altcoins, then surely there will be double profit. So, I will buy some good altcoins. It will be the best
I will just hold my btc and wait for free money. Once bitcoin gold is already distributed, at I'll dump it and buy altcoin that has potential to grow.
My alt portfolio is taking a beating but I've accumulated enough through all the dips and valleys but I will take a wait and see approach.

bought omg and lisk today on the dip, tought i made a good deal, but it finally went deeper lol
After another hard fork and the formation of gold bitcoin, I would not be in a hurry to part with it. We must first observe what will be his first reaction, how he will behave, and then decide what to do with it. It also seems to me that there should not be a sharp drop in his rate.

Altcoins are cheap now, it is a good time to stock up and then watch them rise up in greater numbers. After that, you can buy lots of bitcoin as they will rise faster than btc - assuming you pick the right coins
