I wasn't sure what my and was gonna be but after I read so many replies, I think u should hold, btc is but a concept and as long as people believe in it (as they do now) its value will rise.

There is no risk in holding your bitcoin for a long time because it's value is increasing everyday and hold your bitcoin is very helpful for big investors so all investors trust bitcoin by it's unique features .

it is. if you have holdings in a not so good coin then your money would be at huge risk. Better check the coin first if you will hold some stake on a certain coin

It can be a risk because the coin moves like a roller coaster.

As indicated by predictions bitcoin should have achieved 15k$ by end of 2017 and fall in first week of jan 2018

In any case, shockingly its effectively reached 17k$ in 2017.

Should I purchase or hold my btc?I don't plan to sell at any point in the near future.

Holding Bitcoin or any cryptocurrency is risky. Why? Because they are digital money. Everything that is digital has a potential to be hacked and to be corrupted. We do not know what may happen to them in the future. Hold and sell your Bitcoin at your own risk. Better ask yourself, not us. The final decision is always on yourself.

of course risky, especially if the price goes down. people who have long played trading, or have bitcoin, must know this, and sometimes it is made as the advantages and disadvantages of holding the coin.

Investing in currency involves risks. The price varies considerably even during the day. Therefore, it is difficult to predict what will happen in the long term. You can invest in other cryptocurrencies that also make a profit.

Investing, holding and selling bitcoins is a risk because we never know the right time with the highest price. I think it's like gambling.

Try to minimize your holdings in one coin and spread them out in like 2-3 others. This will really help minimize risk.

it is always risky investing in bitcoin or in any cryptocurrencies. better invest what you can afford so you won't be crying later. we can predict the future so it is better to be ready for the outcome ether it would pump or would dump.

I think 2018 is going to be a good year for bitcoin and we will see it at least double but I think we will see a few scares along the way so if you have good nerves hodl.

The risk will depend on your exposure to a certain coin. If you hold too much of your entire funds in a single coin, then the greater the risk.

Of course this is a risk, but I think everyone knows that feeling when you decided to sell, and the coin go to the moon (this does not apply to bitcoin, holding it carries no risk).

Maybe holding is not too risky at all. You’re just depending at the value of bitcoin. Doesn’t matter if it goes up or goes down because first of all the value of bitcoin is not stable and we should take easy in many times. Investing i guess is risky because you may not know when is your money gonna come back.
