Not a bad idea but knowing how dedicated some members of this forum are towards btc I doubt something like that would ever happen. Although I wouldn't mind holding btt token to be honest, because I knew it will have great utility more than many nonsense we have in the market today. But you can only hope.  Wink

This forum is a place to discuss the problems of the crypto world so that until now users are getting bigger, so to make your own tokens I don't think it's a good idea because later the bitcointalk forum already feels no longer neutral in responding to the problems of the crypto world, so using bitcoin alone in dividing bunus for project participants is already very good to overcome this problem, if later indeed the presence of bitcointalk tokens then new regulations will definitely be implemented, for the security of this forum.

Sounds like a good idea, but the token must have real use case in the future.
To get the trust from members, the token should launch from launchpad platform so the funds will be secure.
Maybe you can give your idea to theymos as the admin of bitcointalk forum here.

This is the first bitcoin forum and most people on this forum are more focused on bitcoin than any alternative currency. If there is a token for the forum then bitcoin is the most reasonable compared to any other token.

Creating a new forum token is a bad idea, you should remember bitcoin and bitcointalk are both jointly owned by Satoshi. We should respect and preserve his legacy instead of trying to replace or damage it.

This is the birthplace of crypto and many people learnt alot from here. is it not fair for this platform to get a token that can be traded in the market. other content management platform has then own crypto that are been traded and use as a means of rewards to their users.
please don't say bitcoin. currently, not everyone can afford bitcoin now. we need an altcoin as an alternative token here for payment of service.
if you or many people can't afford to buy bitcoin, then take a look at the potential altcoins, I think there are a lot of potential altcoins that can be exploited, such as BNB, Matic, Solana and many other altcoins, cryoto has grown rapidly for now, the services available as well increasingly widespread, so not only bitcoin is the main source, but there are many other altcoins that are able to generate profits, without other altcoins bitcoin also cannot run alone in the market

as discussed earlier, this makes no sense. One cryptocurrency forum has its own token, but it is not popular and there is not much demand for it.The maximum that we can expect is a new forum design or new features, but there will definitely be no token.

I don't think there is need for it, this platform has consistently been offering people many opportunities in various forms, this should be enough. This is not a random platform where they can just decide to follow the usual trends or any trend that's on point. This was not the goal for creating this forum. I believe it will cause alot of distractions.

I do not think that this proposal will be supported.

The founder of the Bitcointalk forum is Satoshi Nakamoto (creator of the first cryptocurrency - Bitcoin).  In 2010, Satoshi Nakamoto disappeared, handing over the management of the forum to other people.

Today's administrators of the Bitcointalk forum are bitcoin fans.  They do not deny the value of other cryptocurrencies, but they do not encourage them either.

As far as I know, the only coin they have singled out among the rest of the altcoins is Green (a very technological coin with increased anonymity and privacy).  But the main coin on the forum is bitcoin.  It is Bitcoin that is used to pay for all services on the forum.

As far as I know, the creation of the Bitcointalk forum token has never been declared as a goal.  The Bitcointalk forum is pretty conservative in this regard.

It will not issue a forum token, NFT, or any similar asset.  Particularly due to potential regulatory issues.  IMHO.

AFAIK, Bitcoin is a coin raised from this forum, why do we need other crypto assets in the form of tokens? creating a new token (eg bitcointalk token) will only make this forum not much different from other forums such as altcoinstalks, and I'm sure this will never be allowed even if you submit it in the meta section!

What will be the token usefulness? This is a forum where information are been shared and yes we do have a marketplace on here but holding a forum token won't do much greatness compare to projects that provide secured smart contract and other, Bitcoin talk forum don't need token.

Bitcoin is currently still at a "bargain" price to buy, you can buy more or less depending on the capital flow you have.  Bitcointalk has been supporting free inputs like altcoin promotion campaigns there, I'm curious what do you need another altcoin with unique bitcointalk features for?  bitcointalk is giving everyone all the freedom here, i think creating an altcoin just for dependence, selfishness and i think your hope is not going to happen.

The only thing that circulate here in forum is merits and that due to quality posting and good post of users. If forum would have a token it would correspond to the merit system  but that would make the merits a buy and sell token entity where contradicts to the forum rule which isnt allowed right? I think forum is better without any affiliation on trading cause it might be abuse or take advantage from some who can gain merits and those who badly wanting to have it for rank purposes.

indeed we should not change the main purpose of bitcointalk created by satoshi, where this forum is a means of discussion and learning to socialize to people around the world about cryptocurrencies and bitcoin. so it doesn't feel right to have your own token, of course the discussion is not as neutral as it is today, where all things about crypto and its development can be found here. cryptocurrency education is the purpose of this forum, so that everyone around the world can interact here. bitcointalk is for coins and all altcoins, not for one token only

I think we can see a lot of tokens and coins in the "Altcoins (token)" sub-forum section.
If you mean a forum-specific figurehead, I'm sure there are no plans for forum leaders to make one yet.
This is because the bitcointalk forum is owned by Satoshi Nakamoto which means the symbol of bitcointalk is bitcoin itself as a hallmark coin of the forum.
If there is another coin made for the hallmark of the forum I'm sure it will replace the satoshi nakamoto icon on this forum.
i am agree with your opinion , since beginning this forum represent bitcoin not altcoin or even bitcointalk token so we must keep netrality and dont create any token rellated bitcointalk. let this forum be a good place for cryptocurrency discussion and developtment so , the main goal Nakamoto creating bitcoin could achieved.

Use case yet to be created? What kind of? So, you people are talking about a token which is not having a use case still? Then what is the purpose of such token? Only speculative purposes? I do not think this will work. A token or coin must be created to solve a problem by providing a solution and not in the manner of fund rising reason alone.

This way I believe there will be no need of going for creating a token specialized for this forum. If any one of us, will be coming up with proper reason for having such a token, then I will agree to have without any hesitations.

Well, don't you think those token can be used to
1. Pay Evil fee
2. Buy Copper member
3. Developing an APP
4. Maybe can be used for an Appeal ( for a genuine reasons only)
5. Maintain the Forum
6. Can be used as token to pay managers
7. Can be traded in the exchange, ect.
8. Maybe for a transparency between project / hunters( It could be used to pay Hunters, instead of project owners paying their native currencies at last that turns to be scammed).

Everyone could afford a piece of Bitcoin we don't actually need to own a whole piece or send a whole piece of Bitcoin so I don't see any problem with it.
I think I would love the idea if it would be what all of the bounties would pay their hunters.
It would ensure that the hunters would get what has been promised to them and the bounty manager should also hold at least half of the allocated reward so if anything happens the hunter would still get paid for their work.

The OP wasn't talking about paying Bounty Hunters even though I support your argument there but rather he was talking about this platform, Bitcointalk.org which I am indifferent about but there will be some good thoughts going into it as to what will the token be used for within the forum other than trading it on exchanges like other tokens.

I think of the Bitcointalk Token as the merit that we have.

It should not be as merit. It should be something more tangible. Merit can not be traded for cash in reality. A bitcointalk token should be a real token like those others listed and traded on exchanges. I believe the token will be a hit if it ever gets out. Its supply should be made not to be surplus. Anything around the 21 million total supply which bitcoin has or less should be ok.

I thought having bitcoin is one of the purposes the bitcointalk forum exists in the first first?? Moving on to create the bitcointalk token is more likely to be created to benefit the devs and really not have a purpose besides being a speculative type of token. Tbh this is not necessary to have, bitcoin is enough.

If bitcointalk makes tokens or coins then I'm optimistic that I can rank in the top 25, this forum has loyal members and what makes cryptocurrencies is this forum, and we really look forward to the presence of BTT tokens or coins so we can trade BTT in the market.
