If ever we should have our token for this forum, who's gonna fund the making of the btt coin? What will be the purpose of it? There are things to put into considerations before implementing a token for this forum. There are thousands of altcoin existing and it is already promoted in this forum by different people. Creating a btt coin makes no sense cos it will be difficult to be vested upon like other altcoins

I'm so against this, this forum as no reason to introduce own token cos there is zero utility to back it up, there are few forums that have tokens and the tanked down alot due to lack of demand, oh yes why would there be any reason for demand? None

They will hardly ever do something like this, they just don't need it I think. The forum is strongly bound to Bitcoin and will continue to develop the idea. Create your own token and promote it  Smiley

This has been discussed several times in this forum, maybe if you already have a strong community, it is not impossible that the tokens intended will survive, especially since this forum supports these tokens, but unfortunately it will not be realized easily because the purpose of this forum was created for bitcoin.

Agreed, also if the token that built  is just for payment purpose, using Bitcoin as Bitcointalk is Bitcoin forum is more reasonable.
Creating a forum token could be useless, if its have no important purpose as a background.

This is the birthplace of crypto and many people learnt alot from here. is it not fair for this platform to get a token that can be traded in the market. other content management platform has then own crypto that are been traded and use as a means of rewards to their users.
please don't say bitcoin. currently, not everyone can afford bitcoin now. we need an altcoin as an alternative token here for payment of service.

This forum will stop being a Bitcoin forum and promote a token of its own, you should check how this forum started and who is the original owner Satoshi Nakamoto is the real owner of this forum
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bitcointalk

Quote
Bitcointalk is an Internet forum dedicated to the discussion of bitcoin, blockchain technology and cryptocurrency. The forum was initially created by Satoshi Nakamoto, the pseudonymous inventor of Bitcoin in November 2009

We are honoring his work by continuing this forum and creating topics dedicated to Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency, there is no need to for the admin to create a new token

unthinkable for bitcointalk to create a token. i see that the bitcointalk market is bigger than a token. even without tokens bitcointalk already has a large member population and has become one of the best forums in crypto. so maybe it's impossible if bitcointalk create a token

''Please don't say bitcoin.' at this time, not everyone can afford to buy bitcoin now, true for people who have no investment intentions, but; actually you can buy without having to buy one piece but you can buy a third of one, because buying BTC it doesn't have to be a single chip using digital numbers
And again this Forum created by Satoshi shows the highest respect to the creators of the first cryptocurrency is BTC,
so maybe you have a plan to replace other than BTC the largest coin, or a discussion forum with one token that you have,,, or you have prepared other coins besides BTC,
we are now in the Bitcoin forum, so using bitcoin as a popular currency in the forum is enough

What's the point of a token for a forum?
If bitcointalk decides to become a decentralized organization and use this token to manage the community and assign users to leadership positions, then this is the solution.
Many blockchains such as Cosmos already have ready-made Governance modules. In a couple of years, great solutions will appear on the market.

I don't think there should be an alternative coin. BTC is good and It is being used in this forum. There is no many rewards or any transaction system which needs its own coin. So I think BTC is enough for rewards.

Having a bitcointalk token is pointless because if you want to pay something, you'll use the commonly used crypto. The market will achieve it at the start because all of the required cap for the market cap has already been completed. I really like the idea of having a token, and I could profit from it if the admin and mod created it, but as previously stated, the usecase is very important in crypto to make it more valuable.

Why not fair this is Bitcoin talk a discussion about Bitcoin where the main coin that is being promoted is Bitcoin, there's no need for a new coin or token, Bitcoin is still the strongest coin in the market if the admin will going to create a new one, there will be a lot of effort promoting it and they will spend money for launching it in the market when they already have one and it's the number one coin in the market.

I think everyone can afford to buy bitcoins because the market doesn't oblige to buy 1 bitcoin. Regarding bitcointalk tokens I don't think there will ever be because I don't think there will be any use, here just focus on getting crypto information and doing some opinion

the main purpose of this forum I think is for cryptocurrency lovers, so it doesn't need to be commercialized. From the start, this forum has helped many beginners or experienced people to exchange knowledge and developments about cryptocurrencies. so this is just a place to accommodate everything that has to do with cryptocurrencies, and satoshi himself created this forum of course to support the development of crypto and bitcoin adoption
I guess it is already commercialized, look at how many people here have signatures right now, and how many of them got paid for it as well (yes including me), as you can see it is already commercialized. What it could do is actually give people tokens for posting, and the price would be decided by the buyers, which will be companies who do signature campaigns, at that point only the token will be allowed and companies would have to buy that token to distribute to people, while they buy, posters would sell, and there would be a market for it. Don't get me wrong I am not saying this is a good idea or a bad idea, all I am saying is that it is an idea that already exists and could be implemented with a token which is awesome. This is why I believe it should not be done but if it were to be done then it wouldn't be really that shocking or brand new idea neither.

There is a common misconception that in order to own a Bitcoin, you need to buy one whole Bitcoin. In fact, you can buy parts of one whole Bitcoin. Think of it like pizza. You can buy a whole pizza pan (or two, or five), but you can also buy a slice of pizza if you want to buy a smaller batch.

Bitcoin units follow the International System of Units, a global standard of measurement that has been in use for centuries. The most commonly used unit is “Bitcoin”, but sometimes it is also referred to as bit, satoshi and so on. Basically, Bitcoin is just like any other local (fiat) currency. Currencies are broken down into parts: pounds are broken down into pence, dollars and euros are broken down into cents, and so on. One Bitcoin is divided into 1,000 millibitcoins (mBTC), 1,000,000 microbitcoins (μBTC), or 100,000,000 satoshi. Currently, most Bitcoin platforms - including Luno - only use Bitcoin as a unit of measurement: for example 1 BTC, 0.0023 BTC and so on.

Exchanges allow you to buy crypto assets such as Bitcoin for a certain amount according to your local currency. So if you want to exchange $1000 and the price of one Bitcoin is $10,000, you will get 0.1 Bitcoin. Or in other words 10 million satoshi, if you want to feel richer. Instead, you can list the specific amount of crypto assets you want to buy - and you will be given the price you need to pay in your local currency.

The price of Bitcoin has been on the rise over the past few years. With the increase in the value of one Bitcoin, people began to use smaller units for their daily transactions. By breaking it down into smaller units, Bitcoin can still be used even if the price goes up. If Bitcoins were nearly worthless, people could use hundreds or even thousands of Bitcoins in a transaction. For now, the default is to use small units.

I didn't expect the forum to create a new altcoin because Bitcoin is a coin created by satoshi.
https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/satoshi-3
Seems like you knew I was going to say bitcoin already and that’s why you said that. But I’m still going to say that: having a token for the bitcointalk.org forum will be unnecessary, since this forum was created solely for bitcoin at first, before they later decided to have other subsections that are dedicated to altcoins. So, bitcoin itself is already like the token/coin for this forum, and yes not everyone can afford to buy one bitcoin, but there is no law that says you must buy one bitcoin, you can buy it in fractions, depending on how much you have and still make profit from it.

And I don’t know what services you’re talking about, there are lots of altcoins that are fast for transactions and cheap, that you can use for whatever services you want to use them for (Tron is a good example, and there are many others).

the token that comes from this forum is Bitcoin, the founder of this forum is Satoshi...

satoshi founded this forum as a learning place about Bitcoin that he/she created, so created altcoins this forum will never happen. creating another altcoin only adds more 'shit' to the market lol
