How can we get people to use bitcoin as a real currency and not just a quick way to get cash as a lot of people seem to do? When I say currency, I mean the literal definition of currency as something that is used as a medium of exchange.
Even online, there are only a few stores who are accepting it as payment.
There are lots of things to be done. First, we should make it trusted by ensuring the stability of the price and making it approved by financial institutions. This is a gradual process. We can as well make it traceable to reduce money laundering and scam. This will also speed up the acceptability by financial institutions and governments.
It is not our duty to stop money laundering as it has been happening from years. We only should tell the benefits of bitcoin in simple way. Share your yearly investing profit with friends and tell new techniques of earning money from crypto. Make people aware about the worth and importance of bitcoin not only as investment but as an asset too.

At first we don't have to get anyone to use it, you need btc? Then use it. Don't need? Then just ignore it. I think there is no problem in this thought.
Also one great thing that happened recently is that Unicef decided to accept donations in bitcoin while keeping funds in bitcoin and spending them the way they were received, without converting it. This is a huge support I guess and it will really make people to use bitcoin more widely because since Unicef accepts btc, a lot of service provider for them will start to accept bitcoin payments which will lead to bitcoin payment availability increase and in overall growth of it's usage.

This is hard to do, because the major obstacle here is its volatile action that can affect its recipients.

Because the price may not be compatible with the fixed price it may occur. So it may be lost or its price may rise, It is favorable if the price goes up but if it falls it's a problem.

We cannot really force people to use bitcoin as a currency as soon as possible, it will surely take time and it will be a very long process. We should be very careful with the process because even just a tiny mistake on it can make a huge impact on the perspective of those who are unaware of the existence of bitcoin for sure. It would also be a strategic way if we are going to share our experiences in bitcoin and try showing some eye popping proofs that would make them want to go and try bitcoin.

Today, the situation has changed in some countries, for example, in Japan bitcoin is recognized as an official means of payment.  According to the law, firms can now use cryptocurrency for mutual settlements with each other.  In addition, companies and individuals can buy this virtual money as a commodity.  Latest News: The Japanese government plans to create an international network for cryptocurrency payments, comparable to the existing SWIFT network, and, possibly, to push it out of the market.  Source: https://happycoin.club/yaponiya-sozdayot-kriptokonkurenta-swift/

Maybe the initial response people considered not able to accept because it did not know him. If the popularity of Bitcoin is higher will surely use its blockchain.
Did you know the beginning Bitcoin appears to have no price? Arrived at the exchange rate with pizza, and now the price is rising so high. Certain countries will use the payment.

We should first encourage companies to accept Cryptocurrency, after we done that and consumers see that there is option to use Bitcoin in their payment page, then we can encourage people to use Bitcoin, or we should have a big online market just like Amazon to use Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency, People should use Bitcoin to trade and buy and not to hodl this is it's main purpose why it was created in the first place.

by continuing to promote it or introduce it to everyone, maybe at first the response from a few people, but slowly they will accept it.
Wasn't it originally like that when the initial bitcoin was released nobody believed it even a few people but slowly it became more and more, and now bitcoin has been used almost all over the world, yes even though it is not yet fully a means of payment, but slowly it will adopt.

I think the best way is by showing them the benefits and letting them know the basics of bitcoin. Tell them the difference of crypto and fiat. Make sure you spread sure straight facts because if you are going to dessiminate false informations, it will produce chain effect to everyone. Also, you can try sharing them your experiences and show some proof to make it more convincing and believable.

The adoption of Bitcoin can increase significantly if all the members in the crypto world play our part by advocating for Bitcoin wherever we find ourselves. The main target should be the small scale businesses who are easily to understand the significance of integrating Bitcoin into their payment systems. This can go a long way to increase the adoption of Bitcoin.

Exactly. We need to do our part if we want more people to join our cause. If we remain as "sitting ducks" then the whole ecosystem won't be able to grow by itself. Bitcoin, being the world's largest cryptocurrency by market cap, still lacks mainstream adoption. Most people are simply afraid of joining the pioneer cryptocurrency in the first place because of many obvious reasons (like price volatility and regulatory uncertainty). If more governments start legalizing the crypto space, then we'll be able to see more money flow into Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies on the market. After that, adoption will increase by a long shot as many people will be aware of Bitcoin. The Lightning Network might play a huge part in Bitcoin's mainstream adoption. But it needs marketing/promotion to define its true potential.

The best thing we could do help attract people into Bitcoin, is to talk about the positive things related to it. It's evident that mainstream media and governments have taken their part in spreading the negative aspects of Bitcoin to the world. That's where we come into play, showing the world that Bitcoin is the future of money. As long as we stick together as one common family, we'll be able to see the pioneer cryptocurrency reach new heights in a matter of time. Just my opinion Smiley

To help spread adoption, there needs to be usability, user-friendliness, and stability. Things aside, I believe that what's preventing Bitcoin from being used as a currency is the high transaction fees and slow performance.fees need to stay as low as possible for transactions to be practical within the mainstream world. Transaction confirmation times is another thing to have into consideration when using Bitcoin as a currency. If we want to attract as many people as we'd like, we need to show them the benefits of Bitcoin relative to traditional Fiat currency. Most people are afraid because of scams and hacks, but proper education will allow them to use Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies wisely.

I think people are now slowly becoming more optimistic, they wanted also to make a hustle free transaction of payment so some people today really become more interested on crypto curency so i think telling or sharing crypto information is not that hard to do this time, because crypto is now slowly becoming a part of our human life.

This optimism can very quickly take the opposite side and turn into pessimism at the moment when the price falls.
People tend to love stability, which Bitcoin cannot give yet, which means people will be afraid of such fluctuations.
I think this is the main problem standing in the way of mass adaptation of bitcoin as a means of payment.
Stability will never happen in bitcoin because cryptocurrency are decentralized and there is no regulation for them so they can move freely and the exchanges are open 24/7 so there is no possible way for the price of bitcoin to just stabilize at some point. Bitcoin is volatile as it used to be and people should embrace and get used to it and they should still use bitcoin as a currency.
I don’t think so there is any harm in decentralization or volatility of this mighty currency known as bitcoin. World need changes and gradually people get used to changes. In the beginning, they often show resistance but as they come to know about the perks of new technology, they fall for it. We have stable fiat on one side; there is nothing bad in pairing it with volatile bitcoin.

the number of stores and such that accept crypto currencies is increasing
but BTC in it's present state will hardly become a day-to-day currency because of the slow and expensive transactions... with the implementation of Lightning Network this might change, but that still remains to be seen...
anyway I guess that during 2020 we'll be looking at a surge of places accepting crypto
Very true, one of the main hindrance to the day-to-day acceptance of BTC as a form of payment is as a result of the slow confirmation which will not allow some stores to wait that much if customers purchase items and pay in Bitcoin. The long anticipated Lightning Network is yet to be launched and we all hope it changes the situation in order to boost the usage of BTC in our daily transactions.

of course we can invite our friends to use bitcoin when our country has legalized bitcoin as a legal payment tool. we can invite friends by explaining the benefits of using bitcoin for transactions. and then compare it with transactions through banks. then we explain about bitcoin not only as a digital currency but can also be used as an investment and trading tool. we show videos of people who are successful with bitcoin, of course they will be interested.
The best way of attracting someone is by drawing comparison between crypto currencies especially bitcoin and its competent i.e. fiat. All those who are involved in business, they definitely want to make great transactions without going for taxes and looking to banks for help. They totally want to control all their money and it is only possible with bitcoin.

which is more expensive, transaction costs using paypal or central bank if in large amounts? ,, certainly more expensive to use paypal / which involves third parties, especially transactions that involve between countries. in my opinion the cheaper transaction costs using bitcoin, because it is safer and easier to use. I agree with you if in 2020 there will be a surge, that's why it can prevent someone from using bitcoin as a daily currency. reasons are also due to the fluctuating bitcoin nature.

Bitcoin BTC can be a currency only if its price is stable.
This is the most important reason why Bitcoin in practice can not be a currency in which citizens store all their money. The high volatility of Bitcoin attracts traders, but for mutual settlements it can currently be used only if it can be immediately converted into any stable money. Stable coins are well suited for mutual settlements.
