I cannot post anymore.
This has happened for months.
After I log in, I try to reply to a post.  It then says I have made a reply in the last 360 seconds.  I then wait for 10 minutes or so, then click submit again.  It tells me I already replied.  I check my posting history, and it says last post was in the newbies section on Dec. 24.
I haven't made a working post outside the newbies section for months still.
How can I post outside?  I used to be able to.
Thanks!

The time limit will be reset for login, sending PM, making post, and searching.
That's why you need to wait for 360 seconds after your login to make your post.

I've wanted to help a few people on this forum with my technical knowledge since I'm a web developer and have been studying bitcoin for some time now, but I dont know what I have to do to no longer be considered a 'newbie'... I've been registered for months.

For example I wanted to help this person since I have done this exact thing before and know the answer very well.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/php-developer-intro-on-windows-server-errors-and-setup-100520

Can someone please tell me how I can gain normal privileges on this forum?

Thanks

First you have to post in newbie section and browse around this forum for 4 hours I think.
After that you will be able to post everywhere.

The newbie jail has been removed for months, and seriously you are trying to answer that question raised by OP 2 years ago?

He is waiting for jr member. The activity updates every 2 weeks if im not wrong.

If so, he will need more than 4 weeks to get 30 activity after the recent change.

DAMN. I guess the are increasing "security"...
yes and I like new system and idea hope its works and have better results  Wink

we will see if it worsens the spamming situation very soon Cheesy

Newbies will still get scammed, since they dont know what trust is.
no only newbies many Sr and full also scammed because we have no rule or law to avoid these scammes and throw out these scammers

Well mainly new people get scammed. They dont know the difference between  JR members and full members. Newbies tend to make trades with other newbies.

9 posts + 5 hours, still waiting !

Still waiting for what?

Maybe he means the waiting times between posts. You still have to wait 6 minutes but this decreases the more activity you get.

There is NO newbie jail now.
You just need to wait for 6 minutes after login, and everyone (including those with 0 post) can make their post on any board.
its mean we have new rules and new policy and still I don't no about this  Sad

FYI: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/end-of-newbie-restrictions-ban-changes-423995
New users can now immediately start posting unless they are using suspicious IPs. Suspicious IPs are ones that have been banned previously, or are known proxies, or are near many banned/proxy IPs. If you register using a suspicious IP, you can use most forum features (watchlist, etc.), but you can't post or send PMs until you pay a small fee. In almost all cases, the fee is less than $1. People proxybanned in this way can also be whitelisted by the usual people who can do whitelisting. These IP bans apply only to registration: you can no longer get caught by random IP bans if you're using an established account.

The Newbies section is now an archived section. You can move posts from it, but nothing else can be posted there.

The patrol page acts kind of like a "virtual newbies section". It shows only posts by newbies, no matter where the posts are located. It also keeps track of which posts are new since the last time you've visited the patrol page. If you want to help out, please look for spam on the patrol page. There's an option in your settings to put a "Patrol" link near "Watchlist".

Additionally, membergroup limits are changed:

Full Memberactivity: 120
