Just allocate a certain amount of money that you want to use to gamble for a period of time and once the money has been exhausted stop gambling and do other things, and also try to set a maximum duration for your gambling so that you won't end up gambling for the whole day if eventually you managed to lose all your money before it got to your allotted time then call it a quit but in all you do make sure you're time conscious that the most important part all be aware of what you're doing and also everything that's transpiring around you.

Those are my strategies, I don't know if it will work for everyone but it does work for me because unlike some people here I don't gamble that often I do it when I'm free and have some spare cash with me, and also when I'm bored so gambling help me reduce my boredom.

Like any habit that has a high chance of becoming an addiction, you need to dose the amount, and I do this in two ways:

First: I define a maximum amount of value that I will spend in the month.
I don't have a fixed amount, but at the beginning of each month I set an amount based on my savings, "leftovers" that I had in the previous month and forecasts of expenses that I will have for the current month.
So... I always pay my bills first, put a little in savings, a little more in the cold-wallet and then reserve the rest for gambling spending.
I never exceed that amount.

Second: Game time.
It's no use having a good budget if I spend it all in a single day, so I limit my betting amounts and time spent playing during each week.

Usually the money runs out before the end of the month, and the temptation to contribute more money is quite distressing, but I keep on overcoming the addiction.
As a fellow gambler, I totally agree with your approach of setting a limit on your gambling budget and game time. It's a great way to keep yourself in check and avoid getting addicted.

Speaking of addiction, I remember one time when I got a little too carried away with my gambling. I had won a considerable amount of money and was feeling pretty invincible. So, I decided to place an all-in bet on a game that I thought was a sure thing. Long story short, I lost all of my winnings and then some.

Lesson learned: never let your ego get in the way of responsible gambling. Stick to your budget and game time, and you'll be sure to enjoy the thrill of gambling without the stress of addiction. Plus, you'll avoid embarrassing moments like mine!

i admit it's not easy to get used to controlling gambling habits, especially at certain moments when gambling we have high self-confidence because we win big in several rounds, but i still keep trying hard to control my gambling habits and not be greedy under any circumstances, stopping after winning (not continuing to play after winning) is what i always do.

My wife help me a lot in controlling my gambling habit when I was gambling a lot during 2019-2022. She helped me to manage my gambling funds. She is the one who manage all my money except the one I earn from this forum through the signature campaign. Most of the time, I spent what I earned from the signature campaign to gamble but sometime I need to ask for more money to my wife if I have nothing in my wallet. She did controlling my time as well when I was gambling, if she thinks that I've spent more than what I should, she will notify me. I do not know if it can be considered as a strategy, but at least this is what I used to do in the past and I can stay away from what is called by ADDICTION.

Stay away from triggers. Habits can be overwhelming sometimes if that happens with you, go for a walk in park — It's simple yet it works.

If your hobby is gambling then distract yourself with another hobby. For me, it's mp games. Do whatever you can to occupy your mind.

It's like making us busier with other matters so we might forget to enter the casino and bet. But changing old habits with new habits will require time and sometimes more than people who try to stay away from the casino will be difficult.
But what you do if you successfully apply it to yourself, maybe it will also succeed in others. It all depends on how depending on a gambler is at the casino.

My case is similar to Hispo's. First I am aware of the mathematics of gambling and that in the long run loss is inevitable. So, I take it as a hobby to which I dedicate a (small) maximum of my weekly budget and I never exceed it.

Unlike others, when I have a big win, I am aware that I have had it despite having the odds against me, and instead of continuing more because I think I'm on a roll (to end up losing everything and more as happens to many), I stop the session, do cashout and come back another day.

We must also be aware that our emotions sometimes dominate us and be alert because of it.

I set a budget and I personally like to study a bit about probabilities. I try to make myself aware that if I chase loses I would likely lose more money, so I simply log out and call it a day.

I also try to spend most of my spare time on other hobbies which have nothing to do with randomness, like drawing or language learning.

Play on only fun mode. No you cannot win big or anything playing that was, but you cannot lose either. You get the thrill of the win without the heartache of a big loss either. We would all love to be billionaires and enjoy playing for big bucks but it's just not reality for most.

Gambling is a habitual addiction that the gambler cannot control easily once he is addicted. However, my advice to those who are not addicted to gambling is that you should not take gambling seriously because it is an addiction that once you become addicted to it, you cannot control it easily. I got addicted to gambling at the end of 2018 and I was losing almost half of all my savings in cryptocurrency but I slowly controlled myself from that gambling addiction. Although it was very difficult at first, now I have been able to control myself completely from gambling, but I have not been able to quit gambling yet. I gamble regularly from within my control.

As far as I'm concerned, it's actually very simple. I gamble whenever there is something worth betting and I only do that when I have the extra money, money that I can afford to lose because it's not intended for something else. That's basically it. I don't just gamble for the sake of gambling.

Also, having extra money doesn't mean you have to gamble because there's money to burn. In the same manner that having so much time to spare doesn't have to mean you will go to the casino, log in to your crypto gambling account, or search for something to bet on. There are as many ways to spend extra money as to meaningfully spend idle time.

It's easy: I don't think much about it and treat it as a form of entertainment to kill time rather than to win something significant. Never really had any problems with my gambling habits ever since I started doing it a few years back. Also, I have fully accepted that whatever money I am throwing at the casino. there's no way I'll ever get it back, and I guess that acceptance is what probably saved me from chasing losses, which is a bad habit to develop in the first place.
Everyone doesn't have the same mindset. You have the mind to accept the loss and never go behind the loss to be recovered. Even I spend on gambling to kill time, but I loss control at some point when I keep losing. Here I start chasing the loss and at times I was able to recover and most of the time it'll be a big loss. This is what everyone should understand and have control over.

One of the effective strategies for me is to keep myself busy and I think i've mentioned this in older threads before. In some way, i'd keep myself busy throughout the day and barely have free time for myself so I don't have to think about gambling, or at least cut that free time whenever possible and look for other ways to spend them aside from gambling. If you don't know how then I suggest looking back at the time before you started gambling, you'd probably have an activity or two that you'd spend a lot of time on.

I also do think that even though we share our strategy here, it's not applicable to all of us since we have our own way of dealing with it and we do have different emotions when doing gamble. Maybe just try to always keep in mind that if we gamble too much, the worst-case scenario will be our end.
Then again, there's nothing wrong with sharing strategies since there could be gamblers that are still looking for other solutions.

I don't really know. When I do gamble and win consistently, there's always a thing in my mind to consider stopping. The same goes when I'm losing. Maybe the experience tells me to behave like that because I do know to myself that if I keep playing for long, my winnings will eventually go.

It is just to be discipline and that's it. Have a budget for gambling. The budget shouldn't be like what will worry you when you lose all.the money. When you set out your budget weekly. Stick to your budget so that when your budget finishes for the week, you rest and wait for next week. With this style, you will be moderated.
Dont go beyond your limits and that would be the key on having that good control towards your finances which you wont really be finding yourself into deep trouble just because you had just make yourself that impulsive.
Everything should be in under control because if not then you would really be putting yourself into big trouble.Gambling should be a fun thing and not a depressing one just because you had lost that much.
Keep yourself having in track of your finances and be wary whether you do need to stop or not basing on what you had left.Dont make yourself that desperate because if you do
lost control then you do know on whats next.

I often base my gambling activity on the bankroll I have. So basically I am controlling my fund in order to control my gambling activities.  I also keep myself aware of sudden changes in my gambling activities.  If i feel that I am beginning to get too attached to gambling, I put myself into a break and avoid any gambling activity for a while until the urge subsided.

So it is more on self-discipline and bankroll management that I keep my gambling habit under control.

I did it the hard way, I lose a huge portion of my portfolio chasing my losses, they say that experience is the best teacher and the house always wins is very true, something I kept in my mind every time I play, I forget the losses but not the hurt of losing a lot.
You always have to check yourself and be in total control you need to know your limit the temptation is always there but if you have the experience that you hold on to, you can resist the temptation.
